I’m absolutely surprised that not only did Jayce, Mel and Viktor survive, but that not a single trailer, poster or any bit of promotional material spoiled that they were, or even hint at it. I'm proud of them.
Isn't it very obvious they will survive lol. They are literally important characters and lol champions. How would a single bomb kill them in the beginning of a new season😂😂😂😂😂
It's only episode one and the artists and animators working on Arcane immediately wanted to remind everyone of their immense talent. Coming out of the gate with the scene of Caitlyn burying her mother, which is genuinely one of the most beautifully animated scenes I've *ever* seen, and is actually done in charcoal, is just diabolical. They couldn't even give us a moment to breathe. And it beautifully conveys Caitlyn's grief, how it's making her world black, white and grey, except for the reminders of her mother, and Vi.
There’s such a difference between Cait’s moms death and vid VI’s parents. It’s always going to be tragic regardless, but Cait got to see her mom off in a beautiful coffin and supportive environment. VI’s parents were killed by authorities and left on the bridge. She also had to leave Vanders body to rot in a dark alleyway bc she was captured by the enforcers Cait wants her to join. I love Cait but she doesn’t know Vi’s pain at all
Yeah I agree. Although I think the thing they both have in common is the feeling of needing to fill a hole instead of properly grieving. Vi had to step up as the older sibling to protect Powder, Mylo and Claggor and now Cait has to be a leader and fix the problems between zaun and piltover.
First off, I'm so relieved Mel's alive. Secondly, the fact Caitlin was holding it together after her mom's death, until she's alone with Vi is so heartbreaking. And sweet at the same time, showing that Vi is her safe space.
I can see why this season took 3 years to animate, it's mind-blowing. You could pause at any frame of this show, and it looks like it should be shown at the Louvre. Especially the funeral scene for Caitlyn’s mother. Also, her going through the cycle of grief from that is so heartbreaking.
Except Vi was right, Caitlyn DOESN'T understand what's like to watch enforcers kill your parents AND being asked to join the same people who are responsible for her parents death. Caitlyn watched Jinx shot the rocket but Caitlyn was never asked to go support Jinx
Well in retrospect, Vi didn't ask how it would feel to join the other side. She said "I had to watch them kill my parents, do you have any idea how it feels?". Caitlyn does know how it feels to watch someone kill her parents. Joining those who did is another thing 😂
Also, the added weight of Kiramman family funding the enforcers, funding the very thing that killed Vi's parents, and now she's asking her to join the organization that caused this... Vi's parents were killed by the system, and Cait's mom was killed by the response to that system... results are the same, I guess, but the institutional power of one side to oppress, to kill, to, may I say, enforce, makes all the difference...
Right? Like people don't understand the situation when she says "Do you have any idea what that's like??" Yeah... like.... she's literally joining the people who killed her parents.. and started everything really for Vi and Jinx. But yeah you're right, Cait doesn't have to don a punk rock get up and go to the underground and join Jinx's crew =/
Vi doesn't blame the specific people but the enforcers as a whole, Cait Blames Jinx and Zaun as a whole Jinx=Zaun (Cait, "what kind of animals") a first year logic and philosophy class will teach you just because the specifics of Caitlyns mother wasn't murdered by enforcers doesn't invalidate the reasoning of mutual understanding becasue one person hates this group for the murder of a parent just as the other person hates a group for the murder of a parent. The ask of wearing the badge is just a device of engagement if Vi asked Cait in that moment to join a Zaun resistance (Jinx involved or not) the effects would've be the same. And just to through my own opinion out there Vi shouldn't worry about the undercity seeing her in a badge if she is already sleeping with the head of the people who wear that badge
To be fair, Cait losing her mom to Jinx really isn't the same as Vi losing her parents to the enforcers and then being asked to join them. It's a similar pain, but it's not the same.
@@IliasmadmadNo, that's not how that works. Jinx is an individual who acted on her own. Caitlyn is part of a group that has systematically repressed her people to the point that her parents lost their lives to them. Not even remotely the same.
@@Iliasmadmad It was Vander and especially Silco who started said war and we don't know if the parents were active combatants in said feud. Even if what you said were true- which it is *not* - it is *still not the same situation for Caitlyn and Vi emotionally.*
@@Iliasmadmad Yeah because it's fun being oppressed by Topside. Piltower -> shiny houses, rich people, etc - Zaun/Undercity - shitty air, poverty. Piltover got rich (or stayed rich) by the mines of Zaun, while Zaunites need gas masks (or get used to like Silko) to toxic air.
The Kieramanns are the archivists of Piltover. With the Kieramann Key, they can access every blueprint, every schematic, and every patent in the city's history.
[16:20] I don't think Vi was referring to the death of her parents when she was asking "Do you have any idea how that feels like?", she was referring to being asked to join the organization that's responsible for their deaths and that's something Cait cannot really relate to.
@@cauliflowercake6668 That's why I never watch trailers. No matter how hyped I was for this show, I absolutely could not afford to make an exception for it.
Cait and vi’s situations are nothing alike besides both involving dead parents, Cait is asking vi to become the very thing that killed her parents, the only way Cait would know who that feels was if Vi asked Cait to become someone like jinx
The way they depict the funeral scene was so well done. This is why i love animation as a medium. Such an artistic way of depicting grief surrounded by people while feeling alone. Just a few things in color. The intense isolation even from your own family. Caitlyn’s dad is one of the blurry people and we see they have different perspectives on what happened and how they are handled it. The scene him me so hard because that is exactly how i felt at my grandfather’s funeral. Surrounded by people i didn’t know. Surrounded by family i did know. And feeling alone. No one else shared my perspective or experience. I left like an outsider at the event. Watching funeral scenes in movies and tv i could never relate. They are almost always about coming together. Closure and loss. The relationship with the person how you knew them and what they ment to you. This scene hit me really hard because i didn’t know how much i needed to se my experience. It was validating and cathartic. Thanks for letting me air this.

This season gonna be interesting to discuss and I love how your take on it, specially on Vi and Caitlyn since lot people end up hate them, can't wait for it.
If y'all pay attention to the intro, they keep throwing in quick pictures every intro to foreshadow something in the episode 🤯 their attention to details is incredible!
So Vi goes along with going into Zaun specifically because Caitlyn manages to convince the Council to send them as a smaller strike team with more specific objectives (Capture/Kill Jinx, dismantle Shimmer Production, Neutralize the Chembarons) rather than just go in there with like ALL the Enforcers and Noxian backup and possibly start an actual full scale war. It was the better of two bad options in her mind I think since obviously SOME response was gonna happen especially after the memorial attack
7:15 I don’t know why some reactors don’t edit like you guys, and lower the pitch instead of completely cutting the music off, it defeats the purpose of the show or In particular the scenes. The music is a cathartic masterpiece in this show.
It takes a bit more time to edit and include as much as we do along with the creative edits, which is why it took us longer than most to release our reaction to this season, but I’m so happy you’re enjoying the details!!!
@@LettsReact how very naive of me, I appreciate your diligence. Your reactions elevate the experience a 5th time for me, don’t judge but Ive watched the entire season 5 times.
@@KravenZoro not naive at all! Just wanted to point out that some reactors want to go quicker posting so the time it takes to figure out copyright is too long/annoying, also SO valid for watching it 5 times lol it’s a masterpiece
I personally find Cait's descent into dehumanization is a very relatable trend. Soldiers and police very commonly struggle with holding onto positive feelings about groups of people. I see Cait trying to recenter herself multiple times over EP1 but gets hit with a new tragedy over and over. Its very normal when that happens to people they start to dehumanize the people associated with it
ik they're already many episodes ahead, but the wolves in the cave was actually a murk wolf which is two-headed so the green/blue fur was from the one wolf
This is a case that confirms my reasoning for never watching trailers. It spoils so much and doesn't lead to anything actually being a surprise when watching the show.
I think I'll end up watching the reactions once you guys are all done uploading all nine episodes (which sucks because you guys are legit my favorite reactors) because I'm still reeling over the whole thing. Man, a lot of it really hurt. I've become so engrossed with a lot of these characters that it's hard to watch it all over again lmao. The last time I felt this was probably Fleabag. Completely different show but gutted me just as much.
i know you're further to through the show by now, but i would say that, yes Mel was closer to the missile when it went through the window, but it probably didn't detonate until it hit the other side of the room from where Mel was
Vi and Jayce firing the missed shot at the Memorial attack wasn't intentional in a sense to show you what it hit, its intentional in showing Jayce's mental resignation/commitment to using Hextech weapons to resolve the conflict, which is later confirmed when Caitlyn and crew show up.
Vi joined the enforcer because she blames herself for creating Jinx and feels the only way to solve it is if she stops her herself. Must not have been an easy decision but the memorial attack accelerated it
Poor Caitlyn, losing her mother and now wants revenge on Jinx for causing her death. Cait really has been through a lot this season but she had Vi to help her
Vi and caitlyns parents deaths are two different situations. Caitlyn doesn't understand how she feels. Thats like if Caitlyn sided with jinx after jinx killed her mom
But death is death. I mean even if its different situation, but you don't need the same experience to feel pain, specially the pain of losing someone you love or family, it still hurt.
Some people feel this first act to be rushed, but here's how I personally see it... The first act in the first season went slower because it was introducing the characters, the world, and establishing the relationships within it. Since we have all of this established now, it only makes sense to go go go in this season. Besides, this is very accurate in how fast this situation would escalate. The capital of the city was blown to bits, leaving 3 councilors dead...it would be absolute chaos and things would be happening left and right. Just thought I'd say that. You can disagree with me if ya want but...honestly I won't be listening to any negative feedback, I really won't care. 💜
I think conflating the death of their parent(s) is pretty incorrect on Caitlyn's part. The main difference is Jinx isn't an oppressor of Piltover at all on any level, she's at minimal a nuisance and at most a a criminal. She's one person doing a thing, meanwhile the enforcers are a symbol of oppression to the undercity. Caitlyn is asking Vi set aside her entire history of living in the undercity which throughout all of regardless of who was the leader, was still being held down by enforcers, and killed her parents because the system the enforcers enforce was and is suffocating Zaun. It's also short sighted asking Vi to join because it doesn't say "look not all of Zaun supports Jinx" to anyone in Zaun, it says "Vi is a class traitor" to the people of Zaun, it only really does that first point to Piltover who already don't like/care for the undercity?????
Even if you take Jinx's act as part of the collective (which you could argue if you want since she was working on the order of Silco who was doing so for the future of the collective) that's still not an oppressive relationship, that's the oppressed biting back violently. There's not easy way to conflate the situation without Caitlyn's points feeling a bit hollow And honestly it's fair and also the point I think since most of not all of the characters native or loyal to Piltover have a shortsighted problem with understanding privilege even the ones who want to do the most good for the Undercity have the privilege to not think about them too much and usually don't unless they're right in front of them.
Starting this reaction after the season's concluded is TRIPPY, knowing what we know. SPOILERS Maddie, to Vi: "If all the Enforcers had a heart like your's, we could take on Noxus." Yeah, you'd know, wouldn't you? 🤨
Do Jayce and Mel have a thing?! Did you forget episode 5?! How about Jayce saying he thinks all things are possible with Mel around? That's not a small thing to forget. The woman did have those two green tubes up her nose when she was confronting Silco in Season one and when she was with the group when they were planning on overthrowing Silco.
Seeing your parents be opressed and beat and killed by enforcers is not the same as Cait's mom dying... She asked specifically in regards to joining the enforcers, "I watched THEM kill my parents" All in response to joining the enforcers. Sentiments of course they both lost parents, but vi is not asking cait to join the shimmer barons or Jinx, like how cait is asking Vi.
i really didn't like the scene where Katlin asked vi to join the enforces scene like no Katlin didn't have a point she was asking Vi to join the system that killed her parents and pressed her people for generations. it would be like vi asking Kate to join Jinx and be best friends.

And there is a silence so soft it's only memory
Like the way your voice always sounds when you sing to me
[Chorus]
But I can't hear it now
Just tell me how to keep breathing while pretending I'm not drowning
I don't know if I could
I watched a door close for good
'Cause I couldn't keep it open
[Bridge]
I just watched as the door closed for good
'Cause I couldn't keep it open
[Chorus]
Just tell me how to keep breathing whilе pretending I'm not drowning
I don't know if I could
I watched a door closе for good 6'6
'Cause I couldn't keep it open
💜
Glad you're finally back to Arcane! Woo!
Gonna be very interesting to see what you two think of this season.
Also, Heavy is the Crown is super underrated this season.
This season gonna be interesting to discuss and I love how your take on it, specially on Vi and Caitlyn since lot people end up hate them, can't wait for it.
A SPONSER LESSSS GOOO SO PROUD!! YALL HAVE COME SO FAR
Man I can’t wait for the rest of the reactions
Wow, you did even almost full reaction. Respect guys)
If y'all pay attention to the intro, they keep throwing in quick pictures every intro to foreshadow something in the episode 🤯 their attention to details is incredible!
Best show on Netflix hands down
Is this there first sponsor? If so congratulations so happy for you guys if not please pay this comment no mind 🤣
Damn Caitlin with that white beret is giving me serious Honor Harrington vibes.
First sponcerd (that i can think about) letts gooooo!!!!!!
Also like your reaction❤❤❤❤❤
The sheer amount of i cannot wait for you to see what Singed is doing is UNGODLY. So hype
Heaven forbid the man have a hobby
It's the best show ever. Season 1 was fantastic, season 2 is fantastic, what a masterpiece.
No saben como esperé sus reacciones.
I personally find Cait's descent into dehumanization is a very relatable trend. Soldiers and police very commonly struggle with holding onto positive feelings about groups of people.
I see Cait trying to recenter herself multiple times over EP1 but gets hit with a new tragedy over and over. Its very normal when that happens to people they start to dehumanize the people associated with it
“Do you have any idea how that feels?!” Convenient timing Vi💀
ik they're already many episodes ahead, but the wolves in the cave was actually a murk wolf which is two-headed so the green/blue fur was from the one wolf
This is a case that confirms my reasoning for never watching trailers. It spoils so much and doesn't lead to anything actually being a surprise when watching the show.
first sponsor for the channel??? Hell yeah
Please watch Kipo or Amphibia after Arcane, they’re underrated gems.
Completely different show but gutted me just as much.
crazy how both of you can predict that many just by one episode and a trailer
12:42 the rain dropping is symbolic by the way, but yall are smart you can figure it out.
The woman is the chembaron whose kid was killed by Jayce in the attack on a factory in S1E8
So basically a grieving mother's revenge was the attack
i know you're further to through the show by now, but i would say that, yes Mel was closer to the missile when it went through the window, but it probably didn't detonate until it hit the other side of the room from where Mel was
Personally I think Vi considers Silco and all his ilk even worse than the enforcers. And she is probably right about that.
16:29 it's not the same vi's not asking her to become a jinx a supporter after she killed her mother
Yayyy season 2 🔥
How have you guys waited this long and avoided spoilers!!??
Damn Montana!...Damn
Cait really has been through a lot this season but she had Vi to help her
Vi's Enforcer outfit looked SICK. In all seriousness though, I'm sure it took everything for her to put it on.
And she gave it up the second it didn't work.
I just need all reaction nooow
Make sure you guys are paying attention to the intros. Not So Average Fangirl called this out, and it was interesting easter eggs to pay attention to.
idk if any WoW players noticed but Salvo VA is Anduin and they are polar opposites
The sponsor caught me extremely off guard.
The general consensus is actually the opposite, friend. The first act of season two is paced just fine. It's the OTHER two that . . . well . . .
@HaydrogenBomb I'm just speaking from what I've heard when it was just this first act that released.
Yessss finally 🎉
Man, we've seen a ton of different shows and anime on this channel since they watched season one. Wonder how this show stacks up, now. 🤔
Animation wise, nothing is TOUCHING Arcane tbh
tops em all easily 😌😌
@LettsReact K. If you had to rank the top five purely by animation, what would that look like?
There's not easy way to conflate the situation without Caitlyn's points feeling a bit hollow
And honestly it's fair and also the point I think since most of not all of the characters native or loyal to Piltover have a shortsighted problem with understanding privilege even the ones who want to do the most good for the Undercity have the privilege to not think about them too much and usually don't unless they're right in front of them.
Starting this reaction after the season's concluded is TRIPPY, knowing what we know.
SPOILERS
Maddie, to Vi: "If all the Enforcers had a heart like your's, we could take on Noxus."
Yeah, you'd know, wouldn't you?
We did forget about ep 5 haha it’s been a while!
Not saying Salos is correct but trying to reason with someone who just lost his legs is a very tall order. He probably wishes he died.
Avengers Assembled...wow
YIPPEEEEE
Seeing your parents be opressed and beat and killed by enforcers is not the same as Cait's mom dying... She asked specifically in regards to joining the enforcers, "I watched THEM kill my parents" All in response to joining the enforcers.
Sentiments of course they both lost parents, but vi is not asking cait to join the shimmer barons or Jinx, like how cait is asking Vi.
Too many people spoiled themselves watching the trailers...
wolf see xdd
Calling Caitlyn's dad harsh after Vi's sister murdered his wife shows a lack of empathy.
No
i really didn't like the scene where Katlin asked vi to join the enforces scene like no Katlin didn't have a point she was asking Vi to join the system that killed her parents and pressed her people for generations. it would be like vi asking Kate to join Jinx and be best friends.
Day 44 of asking you guys to watch Re: zero
