Another update on my 3 way coaxial Open Baffle project.

Second upload, I don't know why the first had issues..
I've tried various tweeters in this OB coaxial and they all fell short of what I was looking for but a kind viewer suggested I try the JBL2415h which would work better in the CX12. The cone piece of the horn on the woofer is not loading the drivers correctly. Loading reduces distortion and increases sensitivity.
So I tried to get a pair of JBL2414h drivers but their not available in the UK so I went for the next best thing (sort of) available which was the Eminence APT50.

Hi, these are great videos ! Thanks for your efforts in videoing them and uploading them. i’m going to embark on my first OB DIY project and I’ve been reading quite a,to to try and understand which design i will use. May i ask which of the speakers pair do you prefer - the 3 way co-axial or the Duet 15s? Also what cross overs did you use for both ? thanks very much ,

Things have moved on since I did the TRIO videos. I still have and use the TRIOs but now use the Mark Audio MAOP 11 full range driver instead of the TB W8-18008. The MAOP is a far more detailed and musical device IMO, no xover used with this but an L Pad to -2.5db to 'blend' into the 15" bass. I plan to do a video of this update soon.

Very nice, you have me in two minds. Thanks. Have you heard any thing about the SB Audience BIANCO-12OB150-01 Open Baffle Woofer at € 89,95 it might be good for a novice. Oh just a question why did you not choose the Eminence Alpha 15 as it seems to be ore apporate for OB design.

Are you using an active crossover? If so, which one?

Yes I use a miniDSP 2x4 HD, look out for the next coaxial OB update video which will include what I use and crossover points etc.
