Sugar We're Going Down was a surprisingly poignant theme song for much of my high school life (dating myself a little bit here). Whenever it comes up on the radio, I'm treated with both lovely and painful memories from a much simpler time. This recontextualization provided me an interesting snapshot in to an age and generation coming after me, and despite having very little, situationally, in common, I felt a connection and kinship to your experiences. Anyway, thank you for sharing.

It’s cool how the same lyrics can tell a completely different story with different instrumentals. This version sounds to me like it’s about an angry ex stalking their former partner with plans to murder them.
