In this video I go over Apprenticeships vs Uni degrees. I cover some of the advantages of choosing a degree apprenticeship and then discuss the positives that a uni degree can bring to a young person in 2021. Don't worry this is not an ad for either so I cover the other side of the coin too by covering the cons of an apprenticeship and undertaking an undergraduate degree. The disadvantages inevitably do contrast the advantages of the opposing arguement but its still worth discussing and listening to.
There are many pros & cons to both so if you are confused or don't know which one is a better fit for you then give it a watch and I hope it helps with your decision. The aim of the video is raise awareness for apprenticeships as I believe it is an option that is so overlooked by people and it should be considered in the same conversation with a uni degree instead of it being a secondary alternative by default.

It's a difficult pill to swallow considering I'm passionate about Neuroscience but it necessitates a Uni degree. I'm Asian/Black first generation in the UK and I feel like this is the inevitable struggle my scope/generation will likely face. Don't think I'll enjoy this summer if I'm honest, I'll need to save a lot to stay safe once I'm in Uni, I was hoping you could make a video around money saving tips as a uni student?

Hey, can international students apply for apprenticeship in uk?
Yes, if you’ve been here for the past three years.
If you have been living in the UK for the 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship then yes. You will also need right to work in the UK, this cannot be on a student visa.

Are these apprenticeships open to international applicants?
That's an interesting question - I am unaware of the right info to provide but it might be worth applying to ones anyway after checking out the brief in which they tell you all the requirements. If the company is willing to sponsor VISA and you have all requirements I don't see why they won't accept you!
@@JoeGeorgekutty yeah that's the issue. Most aren't willing to sponsor visa when they know they can get a local. I just wish I could convince them even it means paying for the sponsorship since I won't be paying tuition and I'll be getting a wage.
Unfortunately not. To be eligible for the funding to complete the apprenticeship you have to have been living in the UK for the 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship.

Short answer; no. You have to be predominantly working in the UK to maintain eligibility for the funding
