Hi Sharon, we just called Sebastian Inlet State Park to clarify and you are able to metal detect at the park; however, you can't in the dunes, the water or the tidal cove. Sorry for any confusion!
sebastianriverarea so really, no need to bring a metal detector if you cant work the beach or water or lagoon. Might have to go out past the state park area. Like vero or wabasso .
You can metal detect along the beach (which is a large area) just not the dunes or water. Those are the metal detecting regulations for all of the area beaches (not just the state park).

This says you can metal detect at the state park. But I was just there to do just that. And every beach access has signs saying No metal detecting.

alright, moving to sebastian in a few months, most are saying its a good place. what could go wrong
