    I love Lakeville, Almost bought a century old school house being converted to a dwelling, imagine 2 baths 2 urinals 6 toilets and a gymnasium, would have made a super day care with New England charm for the exploding bed room community as the rooftop scene shows, more green and lakes than concrete, beautiful town

    Great video!
    I take long distance photos from the Blue Hills Reservation and I spent some time today trying to identify a distant building on the horizon. Following lines from Google Earth brought me to the Lakeville Hospital. After seeing the height of the first building and the shots you took from the roof, I am fairly certain that this is the building in my photograph. I am hoping to get a clearer photo this winter.
    I am not sure if you would be able to see the Boston Skyline through the Blue Hills. You would need to go up there on a day with super good visibility and likely some good binoculars.
    Thank you!

    • @j-mass
      @j-mass  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, that is very interesting! I’m sure from the rooftop of that tall building, on a very clear day, you could probably see the Blue Hills! That’s fascinating that your photography brought you to this location!

      Everywhere you see long white tubes on the floor? THAT is asbestos - it was wrapped around pipes, until urban miners showed up and stole all the copper pipes. The signs of their destruction and thievery are everywhere in your video. Asbestos was also used in plaster, as well as floor and ceiling tiles. So yeah, the places is loaded with it. Only takes a few fibers of it to get sick - it festers in your lungs and your body can't break it down, so it causes cancers, usually over decades AFTER exposure.

    I cant believe those buildings are still there. Even back like 12-15 years ago I used to explore there at night and the buildings didn't feel safe walking in even back then. We were always so sketched out because the building that was out front closest to the street was bought and renovated. Sysco food occupied and was using that building. We don't mess with the childrens ward anymore. Last time we visited in there the walls vibrated, there was a strange noise that continued for about a minute and we ran the hell out of there 😂. I have 3 other people that can back me up on that as well.

    I was in boarding school in the 90s the buildings did have asbestos, but they were in the process of removing it.

I had to keep running back and forth from the top floor to the truck for tools and had this giant set of old dungeon looking keys i had to use to open multiple huge steel doors and man idk why but got the most uncomfortable eerie feeling going through every one of those doors that were on a bunch of empty floors. The whole place just gave me an uncomfortable feeling the second we got there. Didn't know anything about the place prior but later on decided to look it up and saw a bunch of sites that say it's haunted. I'm not much of a paranormal guy although do find it interesting and I've always wondered why tf I got such a bad vibe from that place.

    Here I'll give you some local gossip about the place the actual big hospital was an actual hospital 1963 now the reason why they gave up on the property was the technology in the hospital was from 1963 1963 so once the 90s came it would have cost millions of dollars to upgrade that hospital there was no funding for that 1993 the doors closed they figured Wareham hospital in Plymouth hospital was sufficient

    • @j-mass
