The Rolex Daytona, Rolex Submariner, and Rolex GMT Master II are the “Big Three” of the Rolex watch collection. Today, Tim Mosso reviews the three most famous watches in the world side-by-side with measurements, wrist shots, and prices in the description below. Rolex launched the Submariner in 1953, and it has been the world’s most famous dive watch ever since. Through nearly 70 years of history, the Rolex Sub never fails to thrill watch buyers, all of whom praise its iconic design, enduring appeal, and outstanding value as an enjoyable investment. Redesigned for 2021, the 41mm white gold Submariner 126619LB featured in our show is the flagship of the model range. 300-meter diving depth, an adjustable “Glidelock” diving clasp, and a unidirectional rotating diving bezel are core features. Inside its Oyster case, the Rolex manufacture caliber 3235 is a COSC certified Swiss chronometer with a 70-hour power reserve and automatic winding.
Pan Am airlines commissioned the original Rolex GMT Master as cockpit equipment for its pilots in late 1954. Since 1983, the GMT Master II has offered two independent time zones and the possibility to calculate a third time zone with the 24-hour GMT bezel. Automatic caliber 3285 provides 70 hours of power reserve, a chronometer certification, and an antimagnetic Parachrom Blue overcoil hairspring. The Oyster case and Triplock crown ensure 100-meter water resistance. This GMT Master II 126711 in rose gold and stainless steel represents the first time Rolex has offered such a combination on the GMT.

The VC Overseas is one of my all time favorites. It’s a shame the secondary market for these is going the way of the 5711 and RO, with these going for thousands or even 10s of thousands over retail

Hmm... Watchbox appears to be unloading some heavy hitters here. Of course I know their vaults are full, but I wonder if they sense a bursting bubble in the near future... 🤔 The watch market is due for a bit of a "correction" considering the astronomical prices we're seeing for even basic, stainless steel 3-handers... Combine that with some seriously volatile current events around the world and a major slow down to the watch market's momentum (at the very least) seems inevitable.
Interesting. The average luxury watch buyer will more than likely not be financially rattled by volatile current events. I like you're thinking though.
Daytona on Oysterflex is incredibly comfortable on wrist and gorgeous.
I have my father’s (RIP) original Doxa Searambler from the late 60s. Looks all but identical to the one here, except for the Aqualung graphic.
Imagine the service bill on that triple split!

I stopped by 2 ADs yesterday and one flat out told me they stopped selling watches. Only to their top VIPs. They were also very rude and condescending. Tourneau at South Coast Plaza CA
That is the worst place in SoCal, employees are rude and arrogant and most doesnt have jack shit idea or knowledge ab watches.
Bucherer in NYC is like that. Formerly a Torneau. The sales ladies barely spoke English. BUT they have a complimentary bar on each floor, so it’s not all terrible.
This 37mm VC Oversea is the perfect size watch for your wirst.

Hell of show today… you had both of my grails the VC self winding as my practical everyday grail and the Lange 30 day as my ridiculous just because grail….now I need to sell a kidney

The rotating 24 hour bezel is so arcane. A bezel with cities or a world timer is much timer useful
My grail watch is the LF Traveller with daytime enamel dial. You hardly ever see LF on WB.
