This is an incredible performance. I fell in love with your guitar strumming. I feel like I was enchanted. Incredible.
Great!!! Presets please 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻!
0:54 How does this stretch feel? Its seems so crazy far to me, I can barely reach the previous fret.
It's strange, but you get used to it
Finally only six strings and i can't even play that...
Practice practice practice
I uploaded an updated transcription of the song including drums and bass to Songsterr if you'd like to trying learning it. When you break it down this song isn't very complicated, there's a few tricky sections here and there but it's very manageable in pieces.

This song is pure feelings. Chord progression, with these tensions in open strings, is so beautiful.
Vibes of A Perfect Circle, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree... Haken is all these feelings + technically tops. They use silences. The music breaths.
I LOVE this band. Not other classic prog bands. I LOVE Haken.
Great playing, and nice tele-berger (or whatever it's called). This song got me hyped for the album.
Strandcaster??
strandcaster could be strandberg x stratocaster, so teleberg makes more sense.
Immaculate work and progression.
Serious Porcupine Tree vibes! Lovely stuff
Definitely many PT vibes going on here
I'd say Karnivool vibes, but PT fits as well
Fuckin awesome. The two separate guitar parts and bass compliment each other so well that it all bleeds together into one beautiful instrument.
Yeah. Watching him play is great. It’s cool to see one playing a higher part up the neck and the other on the lower end to create a really full sound.
Looking through your window to an empty room
Hours passing by, the hands don't move
A plastic life built just for you
Fears of wasted years fall into view
This mannequin aims to please
Traded ambitions for a nuclear family
Never fleeing from the nest
Eat, sleep, repeat to begin
To begin again
Break your silence
With these eyes
Blindly follow
His perfect lie
Canary yellow illuminates the grid
And the heat causes our skin to drip
The end game is all the same for you and me
An equinox the eyes, the eyes will never meet
You try to save the world
When it's you that needs help
Strive to win their hearts
When it's mine that needs love
You renounce the throne
Bound to die alone
You can mend your broken crown
Until you try to fix yourself
Try to save the world
When it's you that needs help
Strive to win their hearts
When it's mine that needs love
With a call to arms
'Til death do us part
Break your silence
With these eyes
Blindly follow
His perfect lie
You try to save the world
When it's you that needs help
Strive to win their hearts
When it's mine that needs love
You renounce the throne
Bound to die alone
You can mend your broken crown
Until you try to fix yourself
You try to save the world
When it's you that needs help
Strive to win their hearts
When it's mine that needs love
With a call to arms
'Til death do us part
Such a beautiful song guys :'(
This made me appreciate the song more..
I love this song, and wanted to learn how to play it. It has so many cool chords, but the only I can't get is that insane index/ring finger stretch at th-cam.com/video/62XtuAIP3tQ/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing this playthrough! And he managed to play the whole song on a single guitar, in sharp contrast to that other fellow! 😉
Oof. lol xD
sublime! we need more playthroughs. The song is absolutely brilliant, I have no words.
Oh man, these (or that.. sorry.. I'm brazilian) Strandberg guitars are amazing. God!!!
Insane! Looks like this stunning part from 0:48 on will be my new left hand-warmup exercise:)
Now THIS is a guitar playthrough, unlike Stephen Carpenter just playing with the original audio over it.
Such a great instrumental. Love the compliment playing- one usually playing higher up the neck and the other playing on the lower end. It creates a really full sound.
Beautiful playing b thanks for sharing! Stoked for your new stuff. Peace.
wow, Ben Affleck can really play guitar
Thanks for the playthrough! Always fun to see how it's actually played
Oh god i love this quiet mid section. So beautiful. Keep up the good tunes Haken and Richard :)
I would love to see this song live...

Absolutely beautiful :D
What a hauntingly melodic riff
This is the most beautiful guitar I have seen yet. And nice song.
the best sounding song of 2020, so far... ...maybe the album will be even better, who knows...
Que belleza
Tabs?
I broke my finger to make this move 0:52
Absolutely amazing
Thanks for the music, guys!
Absolutely awesome!
Who downvoted?!
Loving the playthroughs
Awesome!!!
dennis is right
The most beautyful song played on the most ugly guitar.
Is there much difference in using guitars of this style? I've been seeing a lot more prog players using them
I have 2 strandbergs Boden and I never want to play on another brand. The comfort is above any other instruments: the neck shape and the fanned frets make my wrist more relaxed, and the guitar is hyper light. No more tendinitis or back pain. And the tone is not sacrificed at all. Exceptional instruments imo.
@@RemyLuciani I have small hands.. I'm playing Musicman JP XI 7 string and I love it but want to get a Standberg 8 string at some point with fanned frets and all I'm worried is the neck because it's so different. You think it will be problematic on my small-ish hands?
Heard they're great for travelling too, they can easily fit on the plane and they come with small cases as well
