Takes a lot for Amy to open up and be vulnerable about her new chapter we are here to support you

Her saying that she would think about getting into a car accident and that it would be ok shows me how dark of a place she was really in. Depression is absolutely no joke. I've had those same thoughts when I was dealing with my own depression battle. I'm glad she's doing better, and allowing herself to heal. ❤

That moment of realness from her made the tears fall. I too have been there and know that struggle. Thankfully she's better. I'm better, and I hope you are too.

Aww Amy, I am crying listening to this because I know all about legalism and going through a divorce. I like what you said about being resilient because that strength is from the Lord that loves you dearly! He will never throw stones at His hurting children so I am grateful you are learning this truth. It is so hurtful when people are mean spirited. I’m so sorry. I also believe what you said about not wasting your pain. Healing comes through this action. Praying for your family and that you will continue to support each other and make new healthier memories. Sending you so much love 💕 Thankful for all of the wonderful people you work with on the show that have and will continue to be available to you! Truly, I absolutely love all of you!

I know this is from 5 months ago. I am in tears as I listen to this. My husband of 24 years and I are just recently separated and I have decided that I just can't do this anymore and told him I am ready to divorce. I also would think in my head that just being in a car accident would be ok... I have now been on anti-depressants for about a month. I am nowhere near the end of my storm, but this gives me hope... Thank you.

Everyone deserves privacy. Kudos to both of them for making family #1 priority and not mudslinging and airing dirty laundry. Just because people are in a public position/celebrity does not give everyone the right to know their personal business. Life happens to all of us. Don't be part of Bobby's 6%! Happier days ahead Amy!

My heart aches for everything you've gone through, Amy, and I applaud you putting your family first. After being divorced after 35 years of marriage, I can tell you that you will survive this and be a better person for it. It's hard to stay married, and I would say it gets harder for every phase of life you get through. It's hard to keep it all together, and you are doing your best. I wish for nothing but good things for you and your family. Stay well.

Proud of you Amy. Doing what's best for you and your children shows absolute strength. Divorce is so hard but is an option and sometimes the best decision. It takes a a lot of courage to share this especially since you were so against it previously. I relate it to you sharing about your body image and disordered eating... You sharing that was a breakthrough eye opening moment for me and now my life has been completely changed in the best way. Sharing this about your divorce can and will absolutely give someone else the courage to do what's best for them instead of feeling trapped. Thank you for all that you share. Sending lots of love to you and your family.

I went through a divorce in 2021. It’s really tough especially the first 6 months. If your husband is cooperative and y’all are amicable, it will be 100 better. If you experience any issues, I recommend getting an attorney. We are blinded to things during this kind of grief. You will continue to grieve…sadness and disappointment, anger is expected too.
I wish someone had warned me these things: People’s true colors will shine during a divorce. You may lose some friends, his family members may turn from you, you’ll experience ALOT of change beyond just you and your husband.
Just keep your focus on taking care of yourself and the kids. Go to counseling!! And pray and keep your heart close to God. It WILL get better. ❤

Hello BBS, I want to commend Amy for putting this out publicly, I am recently divorced as well and I agree divorce brings a lot of feelings along, shame being one of them. Remember the grieving process is not linear. So don’t be surprised if something brings you back to a bad place or a difficult time and you feel like you’re in a funk. It happens. I married In 2006 divorced in 2022. You are not alone Amy.

This popped up in my TH-cam recommendations. I haven’t truly listened to this show since they expanded outside of Austin, but I remember when she first got married. This saddens me to hear, but we grow and we change as we get older and I pray for peaceful days. You truly don’t really know what something is like until you’ve been through it. Sometimes you just truly no longer connect.

I have been through a divorce and i admitted to the affair and I am ashamed for what I did and I lived the guilt for ten years.
    I
Have forgiven my self Just recently I come from a family of 10 brothers and sisters and they have not talk to me in all the time I have been divorced.
I went through depression and I got my self out of it.
    I am good these days.
I have met a beautiful strong woman that has excepted me for who I am and I was totally honest about what I did.
I have learned from my mistakes.
God bless you Amy and your family.
    Stay strong pray hard.
    I will.

Shes shows multiple times how inconsiderate she was of her husband.

I glad her children have both of their parents loving on them during a tough time. I am glad she is have the grace and support that she was unable to show her friend. It was touching to hear that they were able to reconnect and reconcile. I know the reason why people say they judge those that have been divorced but honestly I don’t know why people would choose to judge those that get divorce. Empathy and compassion are the easy path, to do otherwise is cruel!

Sometimes I feel that people ( us the audience) don't need to know what is going on in all of your lives. Divorce is hard and as long as you both co parent the children as you see fit that is all that needs to be done. I wish you well and from someone who has went through a divorce, you will be ok. You seem like a wonderful human being as I have never met you , your kids are beautiful, continue to be a good mom and live in the moments.

Not being able to have sympathy and empathy and support for someone close to you until YOU are going through it? I have a hard time with that and authenticity in a friendship. Now you want and need ALL the things your friendship needed. If her friend excepted a reconciliation she is a far better person. I would be weary of it happening again though because character has already been shown. That being said, the friend should not invest to much because she will get let down again. It’s just a character flaw. Habits can be changed but not character.

Been there! That accident thought came across my mind soooo many times. "Just floor it" I've said several times. Divorce is heavy. But no one or no situation is worth the accident! ;) Hang in there girl!
