And I'm sitting here thinking: "Why the hell would you produce an entirely new SMG, when you could just mass produce these with 40 round detachable magazines?"
Because that costs to machine way more than couple of tubes and a round free moving bolt.
To be honest, the demonstrator should practise a little more barrel control during demonstration. He is pointing that at a lot of people during the initial walkthrough.
Maybe! For a gun lover, he needs to treat all guns like they are loaded at all times.
Luftwaffe , SS and other units used Astra 902, 903 s. the Germqn Navy also used them
The Old Guys like this are a Treasure.. and God Knows America could use more of them!
God Love and God Bless the Old Guys!
The Knowledge and Love they passed on will NEVER! be forgot!
Amen brother.
a unique and very rare gun

my grandfather used that mauser in wwii and in the spanish civil war. he still has it btw.
No kidding, HE probably put the hole in that stock due to his lack of muzzle awareness!
@L0rdMetzger similiar in looks tho internals were somewhat different
They were also really common during the “warlord era” in china in the 1920s to the 1940s
If it is true, I think it was the country that asked Spain for the most astra
@BlazerLT the power a video camera can have on someone's attention span
BADASS
that's the definition of awesome. select fire 7,62... too bad for the magazine capacity.
I thnk they only loaded 10 at one time to limit the number for each shooter. If this were a battle certainly they would load 20.
"We northerners call it an asstra" It's from Spain, not South America.
mauser copy?!?
Made in Gernika, Bizkaia
long time ago i posted the comment, i already knew better but thanks anyway.
lol that thing looks impossible to control without a stock
She really spit em out for an old gal !
Germans used the Astra model 903 (very little to no difference) in WW2 could've used 902's as well, wouldn't be surprised.
Tim Kelleher this was popular in China pre ww2 era
I hope this is legal in California.
せっかく20発入るのに見たところ10発しか入れてないですね。そもそもこの銃どうやって20発入れるんだろうか?
It seems that only ten is loaded. However, this is a gun that can load 20 bullets. How should be done this?
I'm sorry by poor English.
Some shooting areas have restrictions on the bullets in a gun (kara)
In a shotgun range I went to, they only allowed two shotgun's bullets in a shotgun
Sohn Jmith really damn?? I don't know why it would matter at a range...
didnt germans use automatic mausers in WWII?
Karl Hans this was typically used by Chinese
ZOMG! Fallout 3 Chinese Pistol! Zomg Zomg!
Externaly looks like mauser c-96 but its mechanics has nothing to do with it. Indeed was mauser who later copied the machine-shooting mechanicism. (Mauser-like Astra pistol where sold by thousands in Asia ,particularly China durings its civil war, because of the machine-shooting mechaniscism, so Mauser decided to use it in their Mauser pistols too to keep their sales in Asia).
Actually the mauser c96 is the German version of the Astra 900
The company is calles Astra as he said, not Aestra...

That is NOT a range I'd like to be at. The first clip had the fella muzzlesweeping another guy on the right looking at the proceedings. I see more shooters wondering to and fro - and the camera man is nowhere where he needs to be - safe. Standing past the shooting point is asinine.
Spanish craap but still good
I think it's not a 902 model.
Why do you say that? It has the longer barrel and the 20 round fixed mag.
