  • Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s DNA Learning Center presents this course as a service to help engage teachers and students in China during the coronavirus school closures.
The DNA restriction analysis experiment demonstrates that DNA can be precisely manipulated and that it behaves as predicted by the Watson-Crick structure. Students use restriction enzymes, the scissors of molecular biologists, to cut DNA from the bacteriophage lambda. The resulting DNA fragments are analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis.
Presenter: Michael Paul, DNA Learning Center
    Audience: Grades 5-8

We’re covering this lab right now in my course. Absolute life saver when you’re forced to submit work for labs that aren’t actually being held on campus. Much appreciated

This exactly summarizes all the lessons for half-sem of my chembio lab class. Very helpful, especially on analyzing whether I got the entire concept understood in my head. Great video! hope I can find more videos - going to look for some vid related to my course rn!

Good day sir. I’m doing a project on dna restriction and ligations. The two enzymes needed are not readily available here in my country. EcoR1 and T4 DNA ligase. I don’t know if these could be created in the lab. Please I want to know the cost of these enzymes over there please.
