Thank you for detailing the game play pitfalls. I'll stick with my EBD and Bally Kiss, as I just want to bat the ball around, like I did when these pins were new.
Thanks for the video. Maybe I'm in a hooneymoon phase, but I'd say this is a top 5 SPIKE 2 game. The layout is the best I've played from Borg and I've played a lot of his games. This is a dream project for him and he seemed very proud of the playfield. The game had a great flow and the time machine shot was satisfying to pull off. I'm not sure who the more complicated ruleset is for, though. It's very well thought out and my favorite from any SPIKE 2 game but... who is that for? This game is being marketed to drunk 45 year olds who will probably just be happy to pull off a multiball. -- A.T.
*Fellow drummer. We share the same dropoff albums! 😂 Grace was even pushin it for me. First concert of my life was Rush at the Long Beach Arena on the Signals tour (Golden Earring opened). 🤟 I JUST bought a Premium tuh-DAY, after a lonnng flirtatious courtship on location. Hearing it without any other pins blasting, only the ‘dulcet’ sounds of friggin *RUSH* w Lerxt & Dirk?? INSTA-sold!! 🤘😅 I’ve had a 3-piece set of those Kenwoods (w thumper) and LED’s boxed & waiting for just the right pin, and THIS is where they’re goin! 🤘👍 *And brand new code released only DAYS ago?! Can’t wait for delivery!
Yea, don't get me talking about Rush shows! But I'm convinced this will be a very valuable pin in the future and is lower production than people think.
I got this game in January (first pro batch) and I still love it. Great review, totally agree with most of your points. When you are dialed in on shots it's super satisfying and fun to play!
Forgive my exuberance here, but you expressed so many concepts I’m _impelled_ to throw in. 😄🤷♂️ The way you described complex & deep rule sets strikes at a huge difference in TODAY’s pinball market, specifically, these complexities are crafted for the HOME pin buyer, not casual location play. I’m grateful for this because as I’ve “matured” (lol) like you (I’m wagering we’re within a couple years of each other), I don’t have the time or freedom to travel to get my pin fix-I buy only pins that have longevity in goals, rules, etc. If I had Attack From Mars, for example, or EHOH, I’d be chasing my own scores within a month tops. With these way more elaborate pins, it gives the HUO slobs like me a LOT to shoot for and staves off boredom & wood-chopping. Know’t I mean? 🤔✌️
I agree with the difficulty of the games nuances. The code itself is more straight forward on its latest iterations, however knowing and maximizing the use of albums is not. I own a premium and have about 200 games on it. I'll note the wireform across the playfield is not an issue for me, and the ramp is usually in the up position when I. Hit the time machine to collect instrument bonuses or albums. I think the game is great all around and I'm glad dyoubare enjoying it. I'll be shocked it if doesn't win game of the year. Well done videos, thank you for your contributions to the hobby.
I really dislike there are functional difference of the gameplay between the editions of the machines. All differences should be purely cosmetic in my opinion (or tech upgrades like sound systems and shaker motors etc)
I appreciate what you're saying. I was never a fan of different-versions-of-the-same-game-at-different-price-points. But I also recognize this allows companies to maximize their profit which probably helps them produce more games for everybody. In a general sense, I think as long as the base, "pro" level game is a great game and not a crippled version of a premium-priced game, I'm less bothered by it. I was worried about that when this scheme first came out, but generally speaking, I find the pro versions to be the better games and with few exceptions, LE and premium don't offer significantly better gameplace (That's my opinion - some people will argue, and on some games I do agree with them).
Go Pro, you won’t have a Node-10 failure issue, 2-?months my Premium has been down. WTF Stern, 25 plays and game breaks- Home use, my Home!!! No boards exist either

I'm not drunk. I'm stoned, and I'm older than 45.
I may end up agreeing with you - I'm still learning and enjoying this game. I really am having fun with it.

Subscribed! You strip it down to the basics that I can understand.

Totally!
Another great video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

I'm sure the game is fun but if I were to truly invest in a music pin it most definitely would not be this band. Great on location game though I bet
Totally understand. Is there a band you would like to have a pin made (that could sell???) and could see yourself buying?
