I’ve have a GnR 1994 by Data East that I inherited from my Old Man back in 2016. I always enjoyed playing it but never took it too seriously. Then, my wife and I challenged each other for high scores on it. After that, we downloaded Pinball FX for the Switch. Now, we’re both becoming quickly obsessed with pinball as a whole. I hope this isn’t just another rabbit hole obsession that only sparks my interest for a few months and leaves my bank account drained.
Rush Premium is still hanging out at #1 for me after a year of owning it. It’s mostly due to the excellent code and layout, even though I’m a Rush fan and I enjoy all the music in the game too. I can’t argue too much with your take on the caricatures in the middle of the playfield, but it’s certainly not the debacle that AC/DC Pro was. I didn’t give it much thought until I had FF sitting next to it; Zombie Yeti’s work here is clearly better. I think this game will age well, like TWD did. Rush is Borg’s best so far.
Great having you guys back for a review! Fair scores on this one. Greg is right on the rules. Once you have it at home and learn them they are truly amazing!

Appreciate and enjoyed your review guys! Rush has been my favorite band since high school in the mid/late 1980s. I've been a huge pinball fan for many years as well (1st pin purchased was Black Knight 2000 in 1998). Theme is extremely important to me when it comes to pinball. As a result, many of the "popular" games today don't mean much to me because the theme doesn't mean much to me (e.g. Deadpool, Stranger Things, etc). Love or hate the music, Rush is AMAZING - arguably the most talented group of 3 musicians ever assembled. There's the conundrum. I was actually concerned when I heard Stern was making a Rush pin. Mostly because I don't like the new pins as well (I love WPC95 and System 11 games the best) and most of what I see is people complaining about the poor build quality and reliability of Sterns and other new pins. If my favorite band was going to be a pin, I wanted it to be as awesome as the band. I even posted as much on the Stern Enthusiasts Facebook page when the game was announced. I purchased a NIB Rush premium in Oct 2022 and have to say I think it's one of the best new Sterns out there. Yes, I'm biased because I love the theme, but I also think it's a great game. The code is really good - not half-baked like many others that have been released (e.g. Bond). The shots are great, too. It's a great game for seasoned players and beginners. As my first new Stern, I can confirm they just don't make 'em like they used to as I've had a few minor, but annoying issues I wouldn't expect on a brand new pin. My 30-40 year old System 11 and WPC 95 games require less maintenance and adjustments than this one that is scarcely 18 months old. Overall, I think that Rush is a very solid pin that will age very well.

@@SDTM Rush was and probably still is one of the most popular rock bands in the history of rock n' roll with a cult following still today. Rush Lyric are poetic with really deep meaning and thats the difference between Rush and mainstream rock (well besides the fact that the 3 of them are instrumental maestro's). This fact is perfectly woven into this pinball and I would guess that most people who bought this pinball are Rush fans first over pinball (I just happen to be both for over 40 years). As and example, I can honesty say I have time on every Stern pinball made and Rush as a fun pinball to me is only behind Godzilla... the other half of the Stern pinballs made over the past 10 years are just about unplayable compared to the pinballs in the 80's. Does someone want to break it to Greg and Zak than Iron Maiden has sold more than 70 million concert tickets and 100 million albums. They don’t need 1000 new fans lol. I disagree with you that the code is why people bought the machine. Its the fans who love Rush they would buy it if it just played the music a little. Rush fans have the money now they are your civic leaders, your inventors and captains of industry. We can afford to pay for a wooden box with some lights and sounds. This is why it sells in Canada, you simply have to be into the band.
Band themes feels like phone-it-in projects where half the work is already done, no creativity needed. I'll turn on my stereo and play some EMs if I want to truly enjoy actual Rush (audio). You could reskin this game as "Nightmare Time Machine" with kooky call-outs and some Jerry original tracks and it'd be more memorable and less a vanity-laden tribute heap.
Would love to see The Cult pinball one day
Blue Oyster Cult even better, their history coincide nicely with pinballs 1970’s peak, and their lyrics are very sci fi.. But I love the Cult too

No hate here. Greg said he really liked them.
Little late huh?
Yeah it’s about time you showed up!
Lemme guess. B+. I've never disliked an entire HALF of a game. I loathe the entirety of the left side on Rush.
Nope, no B+ this time :)
Lizzo over Rush??? Unfollowing.
Thanks for your take Mr Positivity.
sure thing, guy who clearly bought a rush machine and intolerant of differing opinions enough to type a youtube reply.
I’ve bought two of them by the way
That's a horrid intro
Huh?
