Fighting isn't the only job thats left after retirement
The dumb jock ones know nothing else.
Exactly...All they want is fast money. They got comparatively well paid during their fighting prime.
Them pissing it all up the wall on Coke and steroids in the 90s is not on the shoulders of Dana White.
Missing the point. Yeah obviously he can get a low paying blue collar job and ware his already broken body over time. He dedicated so much of his life to this sport and it's what he knows, so obviously he's gonna run to it when he's struggling. Anyone in his spot would do the same. He's in the hall of Fame, imagine the millions he made the UFC, and now he's fighting when he damn well shouldn't have to anymore, because hes broke and he's got medical problems.
All that time dedication and discipline would carry over to another profession if they really wanted it to. These guys just blow their money not thinking about their future then complain about lack of pensions. Most people in the states don’t have a pension or retirement plan and never made hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars
@@alexthealexander17he probably abused his body with steroids
He just saved his parents from a house fire so hey don't write him off.
Dana White is not ashamed at all . AT ALL . He couldn't care less .
Kids: Don't become an MMA fighter.
Kids: it sucks when you get old. You think you can do what you did at 18 when your in your 50s.
MMA is the peak of sports, 2 men in a ring hand to hand until one gets knocked out or tapes before serious injury.
The consequences are huge. I really respect anyone willing to get in the cage.
I would never do it, but it's the only sport I watch.
Kids: don't work for Dana White

Mark Coleman is a hero and a legend
To be fair, lots of athletes who earned vast amounts of money end up squandering it so not Dana can be blamed for this one
If someone is broke - doesn’t mean they are underpaid.
They over spend hella. 60% of NFL retirees are bank the fuuuuk rupt
@@allenjohnson4462 you are 100 percent correct. Look at Floyd Mayweather - he will be broke later this year - he’s made hundreds of millions - and he has a 100 people he travels with and pays for everything - hotels and dinners. You can burn through money real quick with that lifestyle.
We’ve heard countless stories of nfl and nba athletes going broke. It’s not just the ufc. Gotta remember it’s a newer sport and it takes time to see these legends struggling before we can be a voice for them.
yes but most nfl and nba players that go broke are because of poor money decisions and not because they are literally being underpaid the sport being newer doesn’t matter
@amarexsam yeah but these guy agree to the pay before the fights don't treat them like babies. It takes 2 to make a deal the fighters get 50% of the blame because they took the money then.

Man, they could do a fundraiser for these guys. If I had money I'd definitely will give. Mark money cuz I've enjoyed his fights over the years. Even many replays. My heart goes out to him and his family and his little girls
You would think dana would just give him money.
If UFC really had the fighters in mind, they wouldn't avoid the Ali Act like a plague. Fact is there are almost only 2 retirement plans:
1. become a UFC mouthpiece or
2. become another promotions punching bag.
They’re retiring multi millionaires they don’t need a retirement plan they just need to not be stupid. People out here living of 35k a year when I was low income I was living of 28k a year. And they’re expecting someone to feel sorry for them because they’re blowing 1mil a year after they retired.
For real they need pensions more then most
Not more than most. Athletes are entertainers. Never heard of Real Madrid paying a pension. Not even Kickboxers complain as much as mma fighters. We get more head blows than mma fighters and get paid 400 bucks for a fight.
Then they'd be looking for any reason to fire you
@@emersonr7481 sooo bc youre ok with fighting for little bits of money that means everybody should be ok with it? Youre a weirdo or youre just bitter and you cant see that ufc fighters clearly need better pay, i dont think everybody should be getting paid a huge amount but giving fighters a 50,000 bonus for a knockout is embarrassing when ONE fc just gave someone 100,000 for it and they probably have less than half the money ufc has, idk if youre trying to be edgy or something but its actually kinda funny to see that you have absolutely no common sense at all and i could tell by the way you compared soccer to a sport where you try to hit the other person until they stop moving🤣🤦

Or maybe just don't be stupid with money. The truth is, most humans earn a perfectly acceptable wage, it's just that most of you are financially redacted. Give 1 million dollars to a human, 99.999% of them go broke within a year.

Hahahaha nooooo numnut🤣
Ahhhh so you want the ufc to pay pensions to all fighters? What about the fighters that don’t make any or very little money for the organisation? The ufc is meant to just pay them for the rest of their lives? How can a company stay afloat if it’s paying people more money than they are making for the company? Anyone who thinks this has no idea how business works
@@wheelson7895 FINALLY! Somebody with sense 👌... It might be more useful for the ufc to employ staff to help the fighters with money management etc

He was airlifted to the hospital and it doesn’t look good
He's dog also unfortunately passed away 😔 such a sad suitation
That dude needs to manage his money it’s not the ufcs obligation
There’s barely even any money to manage……. Some ufc fighters have to get a second job lol on top of training
The problem isn’t the UFC. The problem is how the fighters choose to spend their money. It’s the same for anyone in the workforce. If you blow your money… you’ll never retire.

Fighters don't have a union, if they want on strike Dana would absolutely fuck them over and they would be worse off.
Fighters obviously aren’t unhappy, it’s just virtue signaling fans.
A fighter gets paid for the amount of money they can bring to the company. It’s simple if they bring no money they are only filling a spot. That’s called a plug.
Still crazy how little UFC fighters get paid while Dana continues to gamble and throw money around like it's nothing.
Mark Coleman earnt $450k (in today's money) in one night for Pride. UFC was operating at loss when Coleman was their champ.
Yeah my left knee gives out like that after acl and displaced bone surgery. Enjoy your knees young’uns!
It's not Dana's fault that fighters don't use their earnings wisely.
LOL, you obviously have no idea just how little money early-day UFC fighters made. He'd be broke even if he took public transportation and shopped at the dollar store after his retirement.
It's difficult to "turn it off" when your whole personality during your whole life were "strong, athletic, fighter" and you got zero other ways to make it. Then you get heart problems, knee problems, family problems, all kinds or bad bae bad problems. Mark Coleman is a damn legend, I hope he finds peace of mind and happiness in whatever he chooses 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
So it's the UFC's fault that Mark Coleman blew through all his money drinking, drugging, partying and now he's broke? I'm glad that dude got sober, but him going broke was his fault. Not just UFC, plenty of pro athletes whether it be boxing, MLB, NFL, NBA, etc go broke after getting paid millions of dollars, sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars. A pension isn't going to fix your money problems when you manage your money very poorly and make bad lifestyle choices.
What I don't understand is when a man is worth more than Conor and Khabib combined, how can he look at Mark Coleman and NOT set the man up with housing and a new Tahoe or F-150!? It's doesn't even add up to what Dana spends gambling on a Friday night!? I guess that's why I'll never accumulate ½ a billy.
This is probably my best shot at beating a world champion 😂
