Portcullis seems bugged, multiples definitely phased through it. Maybe some traps on the bridge and narrow corridor to soften them up could provoke surrender faster without killing them. Sterlington is Valhalla meets an old folks home. They may be in bed before the sun goes down but they are all proficient killers. Traps should be less proficient.
Writh I really like that analogy, Valhalla meets old fokes home. Enemies at the gates, "here hold my teeth". Yeah after watching the footage back I saw the enemy bug through the portcullis a lot, too be fair though I'm playing on the experimental branch of the game. I guess bugs are to be expected. I've been messing around trying to take prisoners off camera to no successes. Sadly I don't think its possible with the amount of settlers I have.
Yes I've made one of the settlers a gaoler but no warden just yet. Sadly I don't think I can take captives with the amount of settlers I have, but only time will tell.
Doors are not the answer , the AI loves bashing doors , sometimes even doors that go nowhere or will not help them get anywhere, most of the time they do this is because they are targeting a settler, if you click on an enemy it tells you what their goal is. Your trap cannot allow them to path anywhere, doors will always be a path option , so the deconstruction of a wall was the kind of cunning you'll need to use. Man portcullises suck , first time I've seen them in use. Cool vid though.
This is the video watch code for my prisoner capture cheese which I did before the prisoner mechanics came in qrEcfkVstec , maybe some inspiration in it for you. Have to see if YT deletes this comment again, I did post it on the last video but it went on walkabout. All the best.
Cheers tdsdave, I'm not overly impressed with the portcullis as they are a little to buggy but I'm sure they will be all fixed up soon enough. The problem I found with the deconstructing wall method is the time element. It takes slightly to long. Not to say its not going to work, just I need more practice. Though sadly I think this might have been all for nothing as I'm not sure I can capture prisoners at this point with the amount of settlers I have.
@@thesterlingplays Yeah I have yet to find the time to play since the prisoner mechanics update , so I have no idea how it'll work. From what you have said in the videos it sounds like you'll be lucky to get prisoners to keep, but part of the mechanic is trading them for influence , so maybe you'll just have non-convertible ones. I guess just doing the normal fighting will yield one eventually, if they are lucky to avoid a bolt between the eyes, if it's possible. All the best m8ty , still enjoyed the content , especially now I'm forewarned about portcullis weirdness.
Now that's embarrassing, I've been saying portcullis wrong my hole life. Truth be told still probably going to say it wrong out of habit, but ill do my best. port-cull-iss, port-cull-iss, port-cull-iss.

Traps are good to slow them up so they bunch up as well.
