      They use to have grilled and crispy chicken wraps with ranch or honey mustard. Those were great! But discontinued them maybe 15 years ago. As far as the Big Mac now, taste like 💩 and overpriced. I’ll never eat there again.
      For the amount it cost for a meal, is insane. Instead we go to and it down restaurant. It cost about the same but the food is wicked good compared to McDonald’s and somewhat healthier depending on what you order.

    That's not new. Dehydrated onions on a Bic MAc where a thing back in the early 80s when I worked there. They were called reconstituted onions. In my day we used to use an open grill and use a sear tool to sear the patties and we would cook 12 patties at a time (6 Big Macs). If it was super busy, once we flipped the original 12 patties we would lay 12 more patties on the other half of the grill. This was referred to as a "turn/lay".

    I work in McDonald's in Europe, the price of each meat is around 0.20 euro, bun 0.25, the sauce lettuce pickles is hard to count, probably cents... Plus, the meat you say, it's overcooked or undercooked? No, it's not happening.. I'd say, it's perfect every time...if not, you need to adjust the grill, you don't flip them anymore, the grill closes, top and bottom grills have different temperatures, top has higher, and when it opens after 45seconds, it's ready from both sides, you just sprinkle seasoning and onion on top..

    hi. i worked at my local macdonalds a bit ago. I mostly did the grill job, as nobody enjoyed getting burned so much lol. I can tell you 6 patties insdead of 8 is a pain in the a$$.
    The meat timer is 15-20min, once you take them out. It's also why the meat is so dry, most of the time. When you take them off the grill, you basically squish them to drain the excess juice, as there's a lot of it. You put them in a long plastic drawer and into a timed heater. all of the juice just evaporates, by the time you're using it. Such a horrible system they had. I had to try my best to minimize the waste and also have meat ready ALL THE TIME...

    • @slocraftus8126
      @slocraftus8126 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sarahvincent8656 well cuz you never really know if they're gonna be used straight away or in 15mins. And if you don't smash em down, you're gonna have a bucket full of grease soup and when the water eventually evaporates, it becomes a disgusting dried up hardened grease. The only time meat ended up being nicely moist on the burgers was on the rush hours. When everything was getting used up immediately.

      Jimmy, you are spot-on. I worked for McDs from 1971 to 1984, most as a store manager, and they used 10 to 1 paaties back then. And they STILL use a 10 to 1 patty now! Our perceptions change as we age.

    Mc Donald's needs to revert back to the original Big Mac and give a big hairy middle finger to the FDA on the oil they use to cook the fries! The new big Mac sux ass and fries are tasteless and soggy not worth the money I'll eat at home.

    last time I ate a big mac, there was too much sauce, my burger fell apart because there was too much sauce. I prefer my burger stay whole so I can eat it, and not feel like my patties are sliding into home base from all the sauce. Now I have to ask for light sauce when eating a big mac. The burger is good, but too much sauce.

    The Bread recipe was changed around the same time as the Subway Bread recipe was as well. The Patties are definitely smaller too and the "cook" is different. These are supposed to be "healthy" changes. But truth is that one doesn't go there for healthy. Put some butter or fat on the grill for the cook of all the patties. Also bring back the fried apple pies. $15 bucks for a Big Mac Meal is crazy.

    I used to love the big Mac, but I haven't eaten McDonald's in 12 years. Part of the reason was the taste of the burgers. So if you can't taste the burger now, you are lucky. I don't know if they changed the recipe for the meat since I last ate them. I do know what it was at that time and will never eat there again.

    The big change in McDonald's burgers, and not just the Big Mac, occured about 20 years ago. It was imho a disaster. The old method for preparing burgers was to put a quantity (let's use 8) of 1/10 lb. patties on the grill. When it was time to flip the burgers, the cook would ask how many need cheese (let's say 5). The cook would then flip all of the patties, and place a cheese slice on five of them. The patties would finish cooking, and the cheese would be melted/welded to them. The cook would then assemble the burgers, wrap them in white or yellow wrap (HB/CB), and slide them into the chutes that led to the front counter. The register person would then simply pull the pre-assembled burgers from the chiefs when they were ordered. Simple, fast, and tasty. Then someone decided that customers didn't like to get food that was already packaged, and so developed a system wherein parties were cooked without cheese, and stored in a warming tray. When a hamburger is ordered, the patty is pulled from the tray and the burger is assembled. That's fine. But when a cheeseburger is ordered, the same process is done except that a slice of cheese is added, with the hope that the warm patty will melt the cheese. But even close. So this is why you now get burgers at McDonald's with luke warm and soft cheese, and not melted. It's because McDonald's thinks it's better to serve you patties that have been sitting in a warmer behind the counter where you can't see them, instead of ones that have been sitting under a warmer in your view. You're still getting paid that have sitting under a warmer, but you don't get the good melted cheese. If you ever have a chance, some of the McDonald's that have extremely high traffic still use the old system. The one outside of the train station in Kyiv is one such. I recommend you brave the crowd just once, and try a cheeseburger made the old way. You'll see a huge difference.

    Let's be honest, cooked to order "gourmet" burgers are burgers that the chef screws with to try and be different with his bacon onion jams, micro greens, Gorgonzola/Emmenthaler blends aged in a secret cave in the Alps, etc. and are not worth the $15-$20 price.
