Imagine getting a gift, then getting parried and weapon swapped with buffing in span of 15 seconds. I would be amazed by this level of skill, if it happen to me.

Even though a death isn't much of a penalty, having that would eliminate the main incentive people have to DC; the fact that there is no punishment for doing so and they don't have to risk an ember. People have argued with me that "oh, that's too harsh. If they lose an ember for DCing, then they might get frustrated and drop the game, and its hard enough to find people to invade as it is.", but its still a net gain to everyone if those particular people decide to drop the game or play offline. As an invader, I would rather have to wait a few more moments to find an invasion than have to go through 2 extra loading screens between most invasions. And from a co-op perspective its just disrespectful to get summoned to help the host, and then get kicked out of the world the second an invader comes. Players who DC provide nothing but an obstacle to anyone who actually wants to play the game.
I got one the other day where the host and his three sunbros all tried to rush me at once. The first phantom died in two swings of the Old Wolf Curved Sword and it just became a long game of killing phantoms and the host resummoning them. It was a very satisfying win.

A few months back I encountered a gank where the host and his two over leveled phantoms just camped in that little room with the ladder after Pontiff's boss room. They just stayed there using whips to attack through the walls and taunting us invaders. After several invaders died to their cheese, a fellow invader and I decided to combo them with Millwood greatbow and Gundyr's halberd. We forced them to retreat out of that room, and none of them could hold themselves in a 1v1. It was a satisfying point down afterwards.

Or that you didn't have the courtesy to lay down and die for them. They'll die anyway, so doing that is just gonna determine whether or not I throw shit at them. Pretty pointless lmao

People think invaders are toxic, and of course some are, but in my experience if you just gesture nicely and don't act salty, you usually won't get a point down or any shit thrown at you if you lose. Hosts though? They will run up to 3v1 you while you're bowing and then do the point down spin on your corpse. More often anyway. I've met some real nice hosts.
The best is when the host keeps disconnecting then eventually manages to form up his gank squad and points down if they kill you. Are you for real? Disconnecting makes you a loser, no matter what.
