I'm 62 now and there are Two singers who have such distinct voices one male and one female who I have never heard any one else sound like them. The male is Noddy Holder and the female Karen Carpenter. I feel so lucky to have lived at the time those two were around!

Paul Wilson, like you I'm also 62 and I reckon you hit the nail on the head. Two very unique voices whom I think are totally underrated

    Beautiful song.
I remember when the movie came out.
There was about 12 people at a midweek midday session.
The movie was awesome and so underrated.

Todd, SLADE was the most popular Glam band of 70s. The song you played tells us how great they were.

Noddy an absolute legend. I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon back in the 70's. Couldn't hear properly for three days. Remember, it's not Christmas till Noddy says so...

Still in my Top 3 bands of all time for the past 40 years. Sad that I never got to see them live in concert.

Oh my Dog, so good to see 'How Does It Feel?' being appreciated. 'Wot You Dun', is even more emotionally charged - Noddy at his grittiest & best, but all the guys are brilliant!

Well how about that 23 years ago I took my daughter who was aged two to dudley zoo and castle. I carried her to the top of the castle to enjoy the view and noddy holder was at the top being interviewed for TV or radio..in two days time I am taking her daughter who is now two years old to the very same place...I wonder...lol. thanks for telling people about slade. I have seen each member our and about in my home town of Wolverhampton at different times. They always raise a smile

Radio2 presenter Ken Bruce said if they only did one song then this would be it…perfection and Noel Gallagher said it was a masterpiece

Heartwarming to see someone not only reacting, but also mouthing the words :) To me this is Slade's Stairway to Heaven, their Bohemian Rhapsody, if that makes sense :)

I bought the album back in the day and I bought the remastered DVD of the film which came with a CD of the album too a couple of years back. Flame is a really gritty look at the underbelly of the music industry and is a bloody great film.

Wow! You just listed all my favourite bands from my youth, and Slade were my #1. I saw them live 3 times, really exciting gigs. I even had my own platform boots! (cringe!)

Wow, an American who appreciates Slade.! Aren't your countrymen missing something? This song is as good as any of the other popular contemporaries. Kiss, for one, aren't worthy to sit in their shadow

This is a clip of a shortened version cut down to three minutes for a TV program which has been edited to the full nearly six minute release they were massive everywhere but the US. Slade dominated the UK Australian and European charts until 1975, then had somewhat of a renaissance in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Quiet Roit covered Cum feel the Noize and Mama We're all crazy now which led them to release their later hits. Have a look at earlier film clips for the platformed glam craziness.

The Flame film was set in the late 60's, the album was written to reflect that

Jim Lea wrote the music when he was 14 or 15, kept it until it was suitable and with excellent lyrics by Noddy

It's funny listening to this again after so many years. It feels like a mixture of Supertramp and Oasis.

The skinhead look was a management gimmick, & the guys in the band hated it!
They grew their hair out asap & went back to being hairy rockers! 😃

Before that they were hippies and covered soul music in a rock style
