I love the line, "this isn't a birdie chance, but a chance to not 3 putt" So many of the members I play with at my club seem to think that if they are putting then it should go in. This is a great video to help enhance and explain expectation levels on the green.

Absolute unit of a turkey making an appearance in the background 😂

I started working on these short four foot putts ,at first I was making around 6 to 7 out of 10 of them but with some work I got it up to 9 and very often 10. It is a drill I keep on doing and will continue to do although I have made the drill a bit tougher by adding a foot. The benefits are huge and has an effect on the rest of your game as Will says taking pressure off your shots. When I am getting ready to play and don't have much time i work on these short putts and lag putts and a little speed work on intermediate putts. I also do a similar drill using a phantom hole which allows the ball to run on to see how far it would have gone and this helps teach the holing speed and touch on short putts. It is real simple advice and obvious when you have done it but it actually works. To clean up my stroke on short putts I did a lot of work on my set up using a mirror to get my shoulder line right and measured how far my feet were apart and distance from the ball and ball position with the putter face just below the sternum, I do that every time as set up can change if you are not careful, I then did a lot of work on the Puttingarc and then some on the Visio Putting Matt where I check the putter face is square to the arc by lining up the putter face with the lines on the matt, I always pay most intention on the putter face at the end of the stroke ,if you get that lined up with the line on the matt there is no way it has been manipulated in the stroke. I also use a laser to check and train the putter face is dead square to where I am aiming, if you do that it is amazing how accurate you can get ,to the point where you can line up perfectly on a small putt to a tee. when you can do this it makes you pay more attention to your green reading and you can judge your green reading better by seeing which part of the hole the ball goes in. The rest of my putting got better just by working on short putts this way.

This was great for me to see! As you start, I'm thinking, "Of course he's going to make all of these, he's even able to be chatty while doing it..." and then as the misses start, I'm thinking, "maybe I'm not the only one after all?".

Spot on. Missed two 2-3 footers today and it ruined my whole round. Lost all confidence.
