You're a good reviewer, don't be hard on yourself. You were clear and concise. You didn't babble. I looked at one of these to replace my 2013 Hornet but was sorely disappointed. It doesn't have the upside down forks of the hornet and it's 20bhp less. It felt like a backwards step to me so I joined the masses and bought a street triple 675 instead.
I've been struggling trying to decide between on of the these and the NC750S. I want something for commuting but also something that can be used for a weekend ride out. Went to go look at both of them today at a Honda dealer. It's funny, I had almost decided on the nc750s but after seeing the cb650f I'm now more inclined towards the latter. The nc750s just felt really heavy and cumbersome compared to the cb650f. Great review too, very informative.
Hi there ! I wonder what you decided on eventually ...? I do have the NC700S and I absolutely love it ! Nevertheless I also like the look of the CB 650f and I might get unfaithful..... It's just a bummer that where I live they don't sell the CB 1000 R ...
Does it really not have all that much power down low?? My 500 is super nippy down low. Really considering getitng the 650F, but if it's sluggish in 1st I might reconsider. Say I want to turn into a road, and cars pass doing say 30, I can catch up in a heartbeat, feels like max 2 seconds. Were you taking it easy for the break-in period?
Most inline fours don't make there power until up high about 6k rpm it depends on the bike and the size 600 or 1000 they still pull off quickly and picks rpm up quick if you really give it the beans the demo bike they lent me to do this review had a throttle restricter in it as it was a new bike. Restricted throttle movement to 80%
no not yet unfortunately i used to have a Yamaha dealer near me but it turned into a Kawasaki so i would have to travel 45 miles to get to a Yamaha but when there is a nice day i will make it my mission!
Hey dude, how do you think this bike would be restricted down to 47bhp, obviously it wouldn't pull as much, but would you rate it as a restricted A2 learner bike?
it would pull exactly the same as it would if it was unrestricted on newer fuel injection bikes they just put a little screw on the throttle wire which means you cannot go full throttle so would feel like it is meant to, i have ridden a restricted street triple and it will still keep up with unrestricted bikes most of the time (unless there going for it) i would recommend this bike for anybody who is new to riding (or new back to riding) it is without doubt a awesome bike just your always going to want to unrestrict it which is the only down side i can think of. hope this helped cheers for watching!
Hey! I was wondering If I could use this bike as a tourer? I like the looks of this bike so much that is why I was thinking of putting a larger windscreen and a trunk bag. The thing I was wondering about is how much vibration there is on the handle-bar and how comfy the seat is? I'm about 172 cm so about 5,5 ft. So I think it should be a perfect size for me. And is the sitting position more upright than on the CBR one? Cause I have had 2 x 600 cbrs, one F and one FS. With the FS I drove about 650 miles in one day but that was a pain. And the thing is that I don't like those big bulky tourers either since they are mostly so big and bulky for everyday use. :) Thanx
Hey cheers for the question mate the seating on this bike is extremely comfortable very upright could just stay on it all day, vibration through the bars isn't bad really but might get annoying after a while so you could just add crash bar ends which would fix the problem, I mean if you had a cbr (I still do) then this bike would be a dramatic change in seating for you. This bike would of no problems touring cheers for the comment
TheDizzyBiker Ty alot. I was also considering the cb 500 x. But This is just so much prettier for everyday use :) Besides it looks pretty good with a top case aswell since the back part of the bike is quite empty in general.
Blake Garvey it depends really on what you prefer the look of and what best suits you only difference between the Kawasaki and the other 2 is that the Kawasaki ninja 650 or er6n or er6f is a parallel twin and Yamaha and Honda are inline fours but all of them are good bikes, best way to find out which you like the most is just test drive all of them and see what you prefer
i found this bike extremely comfortable would recommend it, if you get the chance try to test ride one to help your decision making easier, hope this helped thank you for watching :)
yes, Honda actually have a restricted version for 48HP ;) I am considering to buy one as well in two years, but for now I have my Honda Varadero XL125V 👍
it depends really, i think they both ride similarly depends what sort of deal you could get on them if you were purchasing new or pre owned and what sort of sound you are looking for the mt07 has a slightly better finish in my opinion and feels more sturdy the honda feels a bit rushed hope this helps
I must admit when I test rode one and wasn't that impressed. I found it too revvy and felt a bit vibey. I also kept trying to find another gear which wasn't there. it could do with 8 gears not 6....lol. I suppose being on twins for quite a few years i'd forgotten what 4 cylinder bikes were like.
I'm assuming you're comparing this to a similar cc bike which is a twin, I would guess that you are comparing this to the mt07 Because of that, I already assume that you're using the engine wrong. If you really think that this needs more power than an mt07, then you are probably shifting after you reach 5000 rpm, rather than around the 9k range, which is when the engine comes alive. A case of a user error, than a motor error.
5 foot 8 with a 29 inch inside leg here. Can still flat foot this bad boy.

Thank you for the comment I bought a street triple r also I had. 99 hornet before my cbr too
Test rode a tricolour one of these from gedge on these very same roads this morning. Weird that this is the first review I've looked at.

What one you going to go for now do you think?

good review mate with this kind of bike i only worry about daily ridablity and comfort
I had one of these and was disappointed with the performance, so I wouldn't recommend getting it restricted.
Good point about awkward access to check tyre pressures: first time I have seen it mentioned. Were you in Eastbourne?CheersTony
yeah in Eastbourne =]
thanks for the review mate it helped heaps
Really good review, thanks
Great review.
I'm really looking into getting this bike for my first bike but would I be to short for it. I'm 5'4

nice... have you ride MT-07 as well?

what you guys think about these bikes which is best .yamaha xj6,honda cb650f or ninja650.

is this bike comfortable to ride thinking about getting one or maybe a cb400.
i found this bike extremely comfortable would recommend it, if you get the chance try to test ride one to help your decision making easier, hope this helped thank you for watching :)
why would you want a louder pipe?
Wild Eye Studios i like bikes with after market exhausts makes them sound nicer in my opinion
Some bikers like them for the sound others have different exhausts so people can hear them when lane splitting
thought that was Eastbourne!
it is lol
can you get this on a a2 (UK) if you restrict it??
yes, Honda actually have a restricted version for 48HP ;)
I am considering to buy one as well in two years, but for now I have my Honda Varadero XL125V 👍
Yes this bike was purposely made to be throttle restricted but to throw something into the mix you can also get a street triple restricted :)
could we lowering the seat?
I think Honda sell a 20mm cut out gel seat but I doubt it will be comfy
87hp, 6 speed gear
really? i didnt think it was that high but oh well with a full decat exhaust system coupe other basic upgrades it will be even quicker lol
This or mt07?
