@@Glados00663 ...no, not exactly? While there's a significant number of therapists who were inspired by their own journey, most simply recognise at some point that they've got good empathy and like how people think. Also, no, most therapists shouldn't be actively suffering from mental illnesses, besides burnout, which ideally should be responsibly dealt with.

that's not true though. it may not cause YOU to become abusive in any way, but everyone shows symptoms and behaviors differently. that's like me saying BPD doesn't make people abusive bc i don't present those symptoms (anymore). people who have BPD can ABSOLUTELY be abusive because of it because of the anger and emotional dysregulation. it is possible for someone to be abusive in some way due to almost any disorder, it all depends on the person and how bad certain symptoms are. emotional abuse is not rare. it is very common, actually, and it is perpetrated by people with mild-severe mental illnesses all the time. i say this as someone who has been emotionally abusive before, and who has BPD. people deny, deny, deny that BPD can cause abusive tendencies but people who have loved ones with BPD say otherwise, and people who have it who have severe symptoms say otherwise too. you are not the only person with PMDD... you know that. so you can't speak for everyone. when a disorder includes mood swings and any kinds of emotional dysregulation or anger, it can bring about abusive behavior. it's not always beating people or severe verbal abuse. emotional abuse and all sorts of things like you saw in this video are forms of abuse that people don't really talk about that often. i'm just saying... being depressed is not the only symptom of PMDD. and being depressed doesn't cancel out being abusive, either. that's all

Just wanted to say, scheduling bathroom usage for someone in a household is absolutely fucking insane and criminally abusive. That's a common practice in nearly all of the most horrible child abuse deaths I have ever read or heard about. It is beyond controlling, moving into dehumanizing territory.
I can understand if someone has digestive issues and have a decent idea when they're going flare up and they post a loose bathroom time for themselves is valid. Every other time? Fuck off. I would've just shit on the floor to make a point.
My previous roommate was insane like that. She wouldn't let me use the bathroom when she was in the hose, and I couldn't go at night cause her bedroom was next to the bathroom. She also loudly played DOTA2 in the living room next to my bedroom despite having a gaming rig in her own bedroom. Good thing I got out of there after a few months.
Another thing commonly seen is parents accusing their children of stealing food. I.e they’re withholding food/starving their child and the child desperately tries to get something to eat. It’s crazy how the most basic things are used as punishment by some.
In this specific case it’s actually disability abuse. POTS can be quite a serious physical condition, it’s crucial to manage symptoms so as not to cause avoidable life threatening complications. It’s an autonomic dysfunction disorder, meaning many bodily systems are dysfunctional. Frequently needing to pee is an uncontrollable common symptom, leading to either wetting oneself or causing a uti if access to a toilet is denied. Vomiting and loss of bowel control are two other symptoms that require bathroom access at a moments notice. Also, it’s crucial to keep up high fluid intake including electrolytes(many have to use saline drips), as well as high salt via regular snacks and meals. Denying these essentials when needed can lead to pots attacks, for some fainting is a common outcome and may prove dangerous as hitting one’s head during an attack can cause concussions or worse. 9 hours of chores too? Also dangerous for pots. Medical fatigue is also a symptom, made much worse by not pacing exertion and activities carefully. This is disability abuse, and endangering her life. Unlike the numerous disabilities these two attention seekers have created for themselves and have demanded take priority. I acknowledge Pmdd is very real, however it’s not life endangering simply by cutting off water access. I also understand BPD is very serious, but again, an emotional meltdown doesn’t take precedence over someone needing an epipen in the midst of anaphylaxis or a diabetic needing insulin. These two individuals, above all else, are sadistic narcissistic menaces and a danger to those around them. They’re living in a fantasy of their own creation and demanding everyone bow to their reality. ‘Spawn’ deserved so much better than this from life.

Dude, have you been paying attention? Everything is politicized to these people. Which means every action and behavior is a part of an "argument" on what is "right".
They have to have something to be mad about. Politics have been proven to cause stress, anger, anxiety, and depression. Some people have the (very flawed) mentality that everything must be political, which turns everything personal into political situations. (I know this is a bit stereotypical of a reference, but the best example is in the novel 1984, where the personal/private is political/public) When seen through the lens of politics, every action or decision is made much more stressful, especially when your mentality forces you to make a decision, otherwise you’re enabling some sort of ideology.

As a therapist I was so unsurprised to see this title. I’m recently finding out that there’s a lot of… not so great people who are therapists. Makes my life harder because I don’t want my profession to be stained by that. Just to let everyone know - good therapy can be life changing. Bad or middling therapy can be a waste of time or worse..
Oof. Hope you like a challenge, friend. Trying to turn that back around looks like a Herculean task. Good therapists are great and do great things...but finding one that isn't poisoned by and/or ideologically captured, insane, incompetent, or a grifter, is unfortunately a task in of itself.
One thing I've noticed is..a lot of people who get into therapy are always the ones who have issues themselves. Often the reaosn they themsewlves need therapy is because they overthink everyting in life and won't actually make a difference on their own. Meanwhile people who are ACTUALLY good at therapy or just normal human reflection and think/decision making are often better than trained ''job profession therapists'' Because they don't really know HOW to reflect on themselves and others they only know what the therapy book taught them and want the therapy badge from the state so they can feel good about having the rank to show people how mcuh they care about others. Those who are good at talking and understanding are often the ones that stay quiet and live outside of drama and trouble so you don't see them often but everyone has atleast one of those in their life.

I don't have a diagnosis, but I've got all the symptoms and my cardiologist believes I probably have it. It can be difficult to get a diagnosis for POTS- most doctors I've talked to don't even know what it is. It's an incredibly frustrating condition to have.
I’ve got multiple, legitimate, specialist doctor diagnosed chronic health conditions. I’ve had 2 spinal surgeries in the last 10 months. I would give anything to reduce my daily pain and discomfort. I feel ya. An awful lot of people online seem to think it's actually fun to have four billion minor things you need to avoid just to get through the day or a miswired brain that tries to sabotage your life. I try to be fair and not judge people who self-diagnose, but when most of them seem to think their online quiz-based findings are a "get out of basic human responsibility free" card, it's incredibly hard to do that.

They lack the courage and/or mental capacity. It's really sad. The way "Spawn" complains to their friend on Discord makes me think; why the hell did they not stand up against those two lunatic "parents"? plurality is a colloquial term for the identity associated with people that have DID, so it is not entirely unrecognized, and DID is indeed real. however, the way DID is described by poppy poorly reflects on the diagnosis as a whole, and i am inclined to believe it is a self-diagnosis based on her lack of credibility otherwise.
Why does it seem like people who are messed up in the head always want to be therapists/psychologists for other people? You wouldn't go to a barber with a bad haircut, or a dentist who has messed up teeth
My guess is it's a combination of them being obsessed with learning about themselves, and them being relatively socially competent enough to have been there for someone in the past and being told by said person that they really helped them. Basically it's an undeserved sense of confidence
Sometimes it's about getting the sense of control over themselves and others where they normally wouldn't have, because we tend to trust professionals more. It can also give some a sense of being this unfortunate martyr who leads people to a happiness and stability they themselves can't posses for some reason. And in this case it's about finding excuses for why you're acting the way you are without improving because you just have so many issues and they're all so debilitating.
Because contributing to actually _doing something_ with their lives is the scariest thing in the universe to them, due to requiring some sort of actual effort. Judging people and telling them what's wrong with them allows you to channel your basic instincts into something society has placed value on for some reason. It's basically the feminine equivalent of becoming a soldier.
@SomeTH-camTraveler I think you're conflating legitimate counseling with the malpractice these idiologs do by pushing their agenda on clients. I can assure you that good counselors work very hard to earn and keep their license, and go into it to actually help people help themselves (which is what counseling is supposed to be: giving people the tools and knowledge to improve their lives and states of mind)
My daughter is 17. She suffers from Anxiety Disorder and PMDD. She was diagnosed last year. Thankfully she came to me and told me about her thoughts of self harm and severe spiral she was experiencing. I immediately made an appointment with her primary and they started the bloodwork. She did a blood draw a week prior to menstruation and then during and after. It showed her hormone levels were severely up and down which is the cause of pmdd. She began medications and while she still has bad days, they are few and far in between now. There’s so much that goes into this diagnosis bc it’s a newer diagnosis but also not very common but more so in young girls.
Wow, that's awesome that you're on the ball about it at her young age. So many women have to beg and plead for that kind of care from doctors and acknowledgenent from loved ones, so it's wonderful to read that your daughter at 17 has had that bloodwork. And that she has a doctor that's recognizing there's an imbalance occurring. You rock! Your love for her and finding a good doctor will likely save her from a harsher, longer experience with PMDD - speaking from experience. In my case, bioidentical progesterone taken during my luteal phase is the only thing that allows me to function and saves me from the mental suffering. That's the hormone that drops in my case. That might not be what she needs, but thought I would share. Take care!
PMDD does not make you abusive. I’ve struggled with it since I started getting periods and although it can make you want to take your life or get extremely irritable at people before your period, it wouldn’t make you roid out uncontrollably at people you love/constantly abuse them. It’s essentially a severe depression before your period. It is not a violent disorder. It’s also something you only suffer with for two weeks out of the month, so it shouldn’t severely impact your job or disable you
Probably because she was on test can fuck up your hormone levels and give you either 0 periods or constant periods , not excusing the insane behavior though just a thought as a dude whose researched heavily on them for potential bodybuilding reasons
@@timbloxrox1 not with women. Steroid aggression is real, but you'd need to reach superficial levels around 1,300-1,400 which is close to impossible for her. But... A lot of doctors in the US give dozens of vials to patients under informed consent when they want, so she might actually be able to reach those levels. Even then, steroids don't cause these issues on their own. They make them worse. If she is having constant periods, her dose is so high her test is aromatising back into estrogen. She also has ZERO effects of test you'd except on someone who is female, which means she does probably take a dose that high (around 250mg, since a vial usually has that amount). To add on: I suffer from transsexualism. So I'm a trans man. Even on a low dose of 40,5mg Testogel a day my period stopped within a week of starting and I haven't had it in 3 months. She was clearly mentally ill before she took test, superficial levels of test (probably around 250-300mg a week or more) made her 100x worse. Informed consent is a nightmare.
@DownByTheGrave I wasn't talking about steroid aggression, I was talking about her supposed illness related to periods strictly, steroid aggression isn't really applicable on small amounts of test , but I highly agree doctors should not be giving patients bulk hormones in the first place. I do appreciate an informed answer though ❤️
Man, that time/chore stuff described my father so well. Not seen or spoken to the man in 15 years~ and it still made me feel physically sick. Thanks for highlighting these monsters.
Tips for ppl thinking about going to therapy: 1) See their face. 2) Go in person, avoid telehealth. At minimum do facetime but I highly recommend face to face. 3) Do not fall into the "I can solve any issue" sales pitches. Find someone who specializes in what you're looking for. 4) Realize that the 1st meeting is an interview to see if you are good to work with eachother. 5) My therapist told me the first session (I did a year for ptsd) to PACE YOURSELF. 6) For God's sake, avoid furries
I would like to add: check if they're professionally licensed psychologists. I'm not sure about the US but in my country you can be a "therapist" just with some shitty course. (PL)
@ashiri8445 In the US, there's therapists, who in all the cases I had were educated(my three at least had done college psychology and such courses), but only psychiatrists can prescribe medication.
As someone with BPD and mood disorder, the “BPD excuse” or them excusing harmful behaviors with mental illnesses makes me cringe so hard. Sure, my illness may EXPLAIN partly why I may react a certain way, but it will never be an EXCUSE if it harms or inconveniences others. It’s not the BPD with these people though, they’re just freaks of nature 😭
This. BPD doesn’t make you incapable of understanding right from wrong, and I hate how all people like this just continue to feed the already horrible stigma surrounding BPD (and personality disorders in general). The BPD is just a convenient excuse so they don’t have to take responsibility for being shitty people.
I have severe POTS from a heart condition myself and I actually teared up hearing about some of the abuse they put that young girl through. Working in the heat like that must have been absolute agony for her. I hope she's doing better now. "Poppy" and his cronies are absolute monsters.
I have POTS and EDS. I can't believe the parents forced her to do that! I just put my air conditioner in today because I could barely function in the heat wave this week. To put a child and a young abused adult through that alone is terrible. Never mind on top of the lack of food and fluids!
is no one gonna point out that DID and the discourse surrounding it predates tiktok? and that it is a valid illness, just incredibly rare and does tend to have people claiming to have it when they dont? if youre gonna call someone out for medical misinformation, make sure you dont perpetuate misinformation yourself. there is absolutely an issue with people claiming this disorder who dont have it, and compounded with decades long misunderstanding, it can be difficult to diagnose and treat but it is still very much a real, diagnosable disorder.
right!! i have a friend with DID and this just sounded very invalidating to them. lots of systems struggle with even accepting the fact that they have DID themselves, and it's worse to tell them that they're just "faking" it for attention...
Everyone knows DID is real. However it is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY rare and brought on by the most horrific levels of abuse to a young child. The problem is all of you get on TikTok and claim you have it because your mom grounded you from Tumblr once. You guys have to make up having debilitating illnesses to feel like you're important
@@SoggyMs who the fuck is "you guys"? i'm 32 years old with over 20 years of intensive first hand experience being mentally ill, learning about the many i have or could have, as well as varying illnesses and treatments because it an interest of mine. i don't use tiktok. and no, most people DON'T actually know that DID is real. there is so much misinformation about the illness and as i said in my initial comment, the fact that so many people will claim it when they don't have it only lends credence to the idea that it's a made up disease. don't come tagging me with an attitude when nothing youve said is at all in conflict with what i said, and you made a whole hell of a lot of assumptions about me. i've known people with DID. i've also seen how most people treat their illness like some sensationalized thing they saw in tv and doubt the reality of it. don't use me as your relief from irritation with other people.
I have BPD. It's one of the most difficult disorders to have. Everything I feel is heightened to an extreme degree: anger, sadness, love, happiness, etc. However.. That isn't an excuse for hurting others. Yes, BPD is extremely difficult to cope with/control. It can easily get out of hand. But you are ALWAYS responsible for your own actions. It's absolutely disgusting to see these people using their mental disorders as excuses to be abusive and controlling. BPD can never be cured but it can be managed, especially with therapy and consistent personal effort. As a therapist, Poppy should have known that. I know they're all likely faking and using disorders to excuse their behavior, which is even worse. BPD folks have it bad enough. They need to stop adding to the stigma.
@@Viroh ok so first of all, that's a little rude to just throw that at me. Second of all, I am on meds, thank you. And thirdly, yes, meds are vital for folks with BPD. But again, there is so much stigma that some people with BPD are hesitant to get medicated.
My husband has it too and it can be a nightmare without meds and actively making an effort to not let it control you. He always takes responsibility if he blows up at me or whatever because it got out of control, usually just needs a few minutes to calm down and clear his head. And I totally get that as someone who is on the spectrum among other things. You can tell people you have a mental health issue and that you may have bad moments occasionally but it doesn't give you free reign to be an asshole and just shrug and act like it isn't on you. Especially as an adult who has had years to learn to cope with your shit, though I suspect these people just want to catch em all to fill up their mental health pokedex rather than actually having most of what they claim.
Couldn't bpd just be the name given to people unable or naive to coping mechanisms to handle their emotions effectively? Couldn't it just be you have a harder time processing your emotions and you merely need to learn and do it. No mental illness excuse to slam pills into you, no expensive therapy for decades, no being told over and over you are mentally ill and it's not curable. Sounds like telling someone they have mental health problems will convince them its true. Now, call me mean for suggesting you simply need to get over it, but maybe I'm ignorant to BPD. Is it a literal observable physical issue, like there's biological evidence? Or is it merely a doctor asking you a series of questions and then diagnosing you based on that? Is there observable, provable evidence for this mental illness, or is it diagnosed through verbal communication?
I actually know, through extended friend groups, some of the furries in Poppy's proverbial orbit. And it's just a freak-show all the way down. I'm not even just talking general furry weirdness, but stuff that's even worse than you can even imagine.
I’m happy for the younger generation. Growing up with POTS I was told that I was faking, that I need to suck it up, and that I just wasn’t trying in gym class even though I used to collapse. I am so glad to hear you saying that it is a real disorder that requires real accommodations.
I've heard COVID caused a lot more people to develop POTS, fingers crossed with more people suffering it leads to a cure/better treatment. It seems to be very under researched and not enough funding goes into treatments. Now that it's a bit more common, that may change. At least I hope it changes.
being diagnosed with BPD gave me insight into how to manage my negative traits, not excuse them. People like poppy and her evil henchman, who use mental health to justify harmful behaviors, really make the rest of us look bad :(
Same, a diagnosis might be an explanation but it sure as FUCK isn't an excuse. People who use BPD as an excuse for shit behavior make the rest of us with BPD look bad
Your comment gives me hope for my future career since people with BPD symptoms are one group I want to work with as a counselor. I'm glad you gained help and insight.
Thank you for sharing Spawn’s note, every child deserves to have their voice heard. I absolutely can’t stand when people make up excuses for being a terrible person. I had met someone on Xbox who was constantly belittling someone for 30 minutes straight for a simple slip-up (accidentally aggroed a small trash mob), they got passed it, everything was fine but she would not shut tf up. Consistently just shat all over him and when someone finally spoke up - she pretended to be the victim, tried to play the trans card like that’s even relevant, and got the water works going. that's not true though. it may not cause YOU to become abusive in any way, but everyone shows symptoms and behaviors differently. that's like me saying BPD doesn't make people abusive bc i don't present those symptoms (anymore). people who have BPD can ABSOLUTELY be abusive because of it because of the anger and emotional dysregulation.
it is possible for someone to be abusive in some way due to almost any disorder, it all depends on the person and how bad certain symptoms are. emotional abuse is not rare. it is very common, actually, and it is perpetrated by people with mild-severe mental illnesses all the time. i say this as someone who has been emotionally abusive before, and who has BPD. people deny, deny, deny that BPD can cause abusive tendencies but people who have loved ones with BPD say otherwise, and people who have it who have severe symptoms say otherwise too.
you are not the only person with PMDD... you know that. so you can't speak for everyone. when a disorder includes mood swings and any kinds of emotional dysregulation or anger, it can bring about abusive behavior. it's not always beating people or severe verbal abuse. emotional abuse and all sorts of things like you saw in this video are forms of abuse that people don't really talk about that often.
i'm just saying... being depressed is not the only symptom of PMDD. and being depressed doesn't cancel out being abusive, either.

Politics have been proven to cause stress, anger, anxiety, and depression. Some people have the (very flawed) mentality that everything must be political, which turns everything personal into political situations. Most mental illnesses are now merely justification for moral failings/degeneracy
That's because you're your own person, while people like that only define themselves by the disorders they have

Life might not be fair, but we make the best out of it regardless, that's called being an mature adult.

Oof. Hope you like a challenge, friend. Trying to turn that back around looks like a Herculean task.
Good therapists are great and do great things...but finding one that isn't poisoned by and/or ideologically captured, insane, incompetent, or a grifter, is unfortunately a task in of itself.
Can confirm there are some that aren't great people.
loads of people in therapy and psychology are in those fields to understand their own wierdness. the problem is when they take it out on others.
Those who are good at talking and understanding are often the ones that stay quiet and live outside of drama and trouble so you don't see them often but everyone has atleast one of those in their life.

plurality is a colloquial term for the identity associated with people that have DID, so it is not entirely unrecognized, and DID is indeed real. however, the way DID is described by poppy poorly reflects on the diagnosis as a whole, and i am inclined to believe it is a self-diagnosis based on her lack of credibility otherwise.
People with mental health issues take interest in learning about mental health issues.
Yup, can confirm

Tips for ppl thinking about going to therapy: 1) See their face. 2) Go in person, avoid telehealth. At minimum do facetime but I highly recommend face to face. 3) Do not fall into the "I can solve any issue" sales pitches. Find someone who specializes in what you're looking for. 4) Realize that the 1st meeting is an interview to see if you are good to work with eachother. 5) My therapist told me the first session (I did a year for ptsd) to PACE YOURSELF. 6) For God's sake, avoid furries

Skill issue
Agreed!!!

Get meds
BPD is the most bs mental illness ever lol

Thank you for sharing Spawn’s note, every child deserves to have their voice heard.
I absolutely can’t stand when people make up excuses for being a terrible person. I had met someone on Xbox who was constantly belittling someone for 30 minutes straight for a simple slip-up (accidentally aggroed a small trash mob), they got passed it, everything was fine but she would not shut tf up. Consistently just shat all over him and when someone finally spoke up - she pretended to be the victim, tried to play the trans card like that’s even relevant, and got the water works going.
You don’t get a free pass for shitting on someone just because you’re trans.
