    A lot of the offensive and defensive linemen are over 300 lbs and fast as all hell. That's why you always see the QB scrambling. Nobody wants to get hit by a somebody with the weight of a kitchen appliance.

    • @orlock20
      @orlock20 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The Bears once traded all their draft slots for one guy that promptly got a season injury after a 300 pound man fell on him. It's also why dog piles have been banned for years. It would easily get up to a ton of weight on the guy at the bottom.

    There's a tendency I've noticed from around the world to see football players as "big mean guys who hit people because they couldn't make it in other sports" when in reality I think some NFL guys number among the greatest athletes in the world.

    • @liamengram6326
      @liamengram6326 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I've never seen anyone say that. Anyone who has seen more than a glimpse of NFL knows they are the best athletes in the world.
      You have guys running close to 10.00s 100m in high school despite outweighing most track athletes by 30+ lbs.
      You have guys like Vince Wilfork who at 6'2 325lbs could dunk a basketball.
      The average vertical jump at the NFL combine is 2 inches higher than at the NBA combine, and that's with dudes who are around 300lbs contributing to that average.
      If you take just like baseline averages across the NFL, your average NFL player is 6'2 235lbs with a 40 time of 4.5s, a vertical leap of 34.5 inches, a broad jump of 9'4", and can bench press 225lbs for 12 reps.
      I can't think of any other sport where those would be considered AVERAGES while also having such a wide variety of athlete sizes from 170lbs to 330lbs.

    Have you guys ever thought of taking a trip to London to attend an NFL game when they play there? It would be fun to watch you vlog it.
    BTW, I just recently learned that the Jacksonville Jaguars are considered London's 'home team'. That's wild, but I get it.
    For those who don't know, it's because the Jaguars were the team that made a commitment years ago to go to London every year to play one of their regular season games. I don't know if there are other teams that made that commitment recently, but usually the other NFL teams will rotate playing a regular season game in London. Apparently, the Miami Dolphins are also really popular in UK.

Since he's been in the NFL he is still a very tough runner and has a great work ethic but he doesn't have the team around him to really make him a really a tremendous back and show all of his skills. For those who are familiar with or ever participated in track and field in high school, you can really appreciate the speed on some of these guys cause it is absolutely ridiculous! Just to provide some context, the average lean person without any training or natural ability is sprinting 40 yards in about 5 and a half to 6 seconds, and that might be being nice. Even 1 tenth of a second in a short distance sprint like the 40 yard dash is an absolute eternity. If you race someone who is even 1 tenth of a second quicker than you that could be the difference of you catching them, or them scoring a touchdown-you're talking about like 2 meters of space. The average person racing someone like Tyreek Hill in the 40 yard dash is probably hitting their stride at the halfway point while he has already crossed the finish line, just for a little context :).

    Lots of fun.
    But yeah, football size weight and strength stats are on the bizarre side for most humans.
    One has to consider that anyone who is less than 183 cm tall and/ or weighs less than 91 Kg is "small".
    When they talk about how many "reps" on a bench press - the standardized weight is 102kg -
    and the record number is 51 reps!
    Sprint times of between 4 and 5 seconds are over 40 yards / ~36.4 Meters.
    These are big, powerful men. The average size is so large that it is deceptive.

    James. You poor man. She just said all of that in front of the internet. Please understand, not a word she said was true. The fact that she started saying all of that in the first place means she was uncomfortable. She was shook by those men's physical attributes. She said it made her feel weird. Its because you were right there next to her and she was visibly shook by the men on the video its okay. Totally natural and doesn't mean she loves you any less. It's just funny to watch.

    Gronk was bigger and faster than Kittle, but he retired before this was made.

    I live in Iowa where the Hawkeyes play.(Iowa City) Kittle and Wirfs were 2 former Hawkeyes. I go to a booster club where the coaches come and speak. They said Barkley was the best athlete they have played against.

    American football is actually derived from rugby. Which if im not mistaken is actually called rugby football, just we call it rugby for short :) most people compare it to soccer/football because of the name, but they even share rules with rugby. Like once passed the line of scrimmage they can only pass laterally. The core difference just being they stop and line up between each play. Lol you should checkout what football playbooks look like. Lol a jumbled mess if you don't know what you're looking at

    What the video DIDN'T tell you about DK Metcalf is that he wakes up, works out for 4 hours, drinks a coffee at about noon, eats FOUR bags of candy at 4:30 and then a meal at around 8:30. EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! A freak of nature indeed!!!
