I lost my dad to suicide when I was 9 years old. Mac’s music has kept my head straight for as long as i can remember, He was like the brother i never had reminding me daily that i can do this shit. I’m now a 27 year old single dad and this song in particular has saved my life on multiple occasions over the last few years. I had a call today about a new job i start on monday and life just feels like it’s falling back into place again. I had to come back today to listen and remind myself how far I’ve come, You really can’t give up no matter how hard it gets. Really hurting from his passing.. I was going to see him in SF in october. I've been listening to him for years. This guy will always be on my mind, have me thinking "What could've been?". You know how I know Mac was a real artist? Because I can feel what he's saying, like deeply feel a connection and I see a lot of others do too. He had a very real way of seeing the world, will always be one of my favorite artists of all time.
I had a really bad pill addiction a couple years ago along with other bad habits and it was rough ,macs music helped me through a lot of it and I eventually got better after a severe od and sadly I got caught up in life and somehow lost track of macs music until this album and I regret it so much because the moment I first heard he passed my heart sank later to find out what had happened and no celebrity’s death has ever hit me this hard this Halloween I’ll be 2 years sober 🧡
