So during my recent visit to the popular island of Rhodes I managed to spend in some time to go and do some filming. This video is filmed from a bar & café area called "Airport Views." From there you get amazing views over the Taxiway and Runway. It is personally good for Planespotting when Rhodes are using Easterly Operations when Taking-off and Landing on RWY 06. Great for some Professional, up close and personal planespotting views! A amazing location to see both the days arrivals and departures.

The island of Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is known for its beach resorts, ancient ruins and remnants of its occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. The city of Rhodes has an Old Town featuring the medieval Street of the Knights and the castlelike Palace of the Grand Masters. Captured by the Ottomans and then held by the Italians, the palace is now a history museum. I highly recommend "Airport Views" which is the café, bar & restaurant area at the end of RWY 06.

This is just at the west end of the runway though its rare that planes lands/departs at/from rw 06 since winds are mostly in the oppsite direction and rw24 is used, at least during summer season afaik. Also there is a nice cafe/taverna at this place where one can have a snack and enjoy the action. If ever visiting i recommend renting a scooter or car and finding your way to the top of the mountain just next to the airport. Its hard to miss since there is a big weather radar at the top. The view from that place is a planespotters dream. You have the whole airport area in eyesight and see all the action in front of you. In good conditions it's possible to see planes approch from far west, descent, make a 180 to lineup withthe runway and finally land. In sunset with rw24 in use it's just beautiful! Bring binoculars and camera :)
