Also at this point why is Ethan Bonner not getting any run in some of these nickel and dime packages ?! I mean he’s sure as hell fast enough to at least utilize on db blitz but they said all off season he was step for step with Tyreek and Waddle. He even caused a fumble in KC last year.
Poyer is useless. Frankly I think he still is reporting to Buffalo (LOL!). I think his bumbling has affected Holland who has excelled his entire career up until this year. I wonder if that knee job that the Meadowlands turf did on him last year during that coast to coast pick 6 against the Jets has lingered upon him. I remember his first or second game back from about 6 that he missed following the pick game and he looked like I would look out there at 52 years old and near 300lbs!! Kohu needs to improve. Fuller I'm not sold on. Cam Smith looks like a lost cause. Can Phillips and Chubb come back to be productive? On offense Armstead and Lamm will retire at the end of this year. Robert Jones and Eichenberg might as well go with them. Wynn is probably already retired and just doesn't know it at this point. So basically that leaves two line spots filled with Brewer (C) and Jackson (RT) and I'm not 100% sold on Brewer! The weapons at WR and RB look good but clearly lots of holes to fill on another injury plagued season under McD. I suppose one excuse McD could use here is that guys like Phillips, Chubb and Wynn were essentially injured LAST year and except for about three games from Phillips, none have even played this year! Not looking forward to the Houston game. I'll be rooting for my team but with their defensive front and our weak OL, we will have to max protect and give Tua the time to hit either Reek or Waddle. If it's the same humdrum mediocrity out of the Dolphins that we see against teams like Green Bay then this game will end up 42 - 21, and we'll be lucky to score the 21 points! If we do something else and McD gets out of his shell to make some common sense adjustments both pregame and during (if necessary) then we could see a much lower scoring game going either way.
Weaver needs to let Holland stay in the deep 3rd because when he rolls down into underneath coverage it ends in a big pass play. Either way they need another safety at the least and another CB1 alongside a DT and OLB. Either draft a safety (there’s some great ones in the draft) or move Ramsey to safety and draft a stud DB (also some great ones in the draft)
I saw an article on how the Dolphins DBs pose a problem for the Texans receivers. I guess the Texans receivers might trip and fall over one of them taking a nap in the middle of the field. Other than that?
It also doesn't help that they keep changing the defensive coordinators every season. Just like flores with the offensive coordinator. Cant keep coaches together
I'm not as worried about the protection, but we have been terrible at run blocking for the last month or more so that needs to improve. We need a run game to beat the Texans imo
Mixon, Collins and Tank Dell on offense are gonna be a problem. Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, Neville Hewitt are all ballin in the Texans front 7. Jalen Pitre, Derek Stingley, Jimmie Ward, and Lassiter on the back end are playing great, too. The one thing in our favor is that Stroud hasn't played great as of late
I get a kick out of everyone saying bad defense effort. Aaron Rodgers’s was back to being who he is. He played a great game. We better get sharper and quicker to beat the Houston s
At this point, I'm not sure if the problem lies in identifying and drafting young talent or developing them, but if we can't hit on our draft picks, we have no chance of building a quality roster.
Hi this is Joseph Stanley the number one fan of the Miami Dolphins you know I listen to somebody’s podcast and I just think they’re so stupid and ridiculous you know a guy if you seem to be such an expert once you get your ass out there and you play football if you think they’re doing so bad because I don’t see you go out there and make kids and make plays all you do is criticize have to stop criticizing them and start supporting them if you’re such locked on Dolphins friend anyway that’s my personal opinion dude stop criticizing start supporting
They need a bruising rb, a 3rd/4th/5th receiver for depth, every oline position except center and a 3 down TE. The next 2 years there are some really good TE'S coming out of college. I think we can address that next year if one doesn't fall in this year's draft. We still have Jonnu for 1 more year, then we'll really need one, but if a quality TE slips to the middle rounds, maybe they get one this year.
@@Ballaholic17 I count 9 immediate needs.10 draft picks and FA's should be able to fill some. I do agree we need a big back, Achane is not a lead back more of a weapon out of the back field.
@@Ballaholic17 The RB bruiser would be a nice compliment. That would give us Achane and Wright for speed, the bruiser back and Mostert as a hybrid with experience. One or two promising WRs for depth would be nice. I think we can get away with just one more there though if we get two why not? The OL is nearly defunct again. Armstead and Lamm will retire. Eichenberg and Jones are no better than temporary backups. Beyond that role they are a liability against any decent defensive front. Brewer has earned another starting year with us though I'm still not sure if he could man a punishing dominant line with better players beside him. Jackson is the only guy I'm sold on playing wise. This is his second season out of 5 that he's missed substantial time. Otherwise he has been very durable. So there is some incosistency there but play calibre, he has really come together. Defense is the big concern here as Kyle points out. CB, S, edge are all problems right now and look uncertain for next year. Could Calais Campbell come back for another year and if so, would it be in Miami? Not confident on that one. That leaves DT a major vacancy once more.
Playoffs! PLAYOFFS!!!! LOL.... o' they beat another losing team. What year did this team beat a team with a winning record? Awesome fumble to kick off Packers loss. Texans will do Miami like Miami does its fans - they wont care laughing on the sideline when they down by 20. 49ers will handle this downy squad and WIN in the Cold!!!!! Shula had it right when he built running teams and a solid D in the early 70s. 1972 Undefeated and nearly 200 rushing yards per game. 3 straight SB appearances and 2 wins. Then 1981-1985. Miami was 61-19-1. 1982 SB they averaged around 140 rushing yards a game went 3-1 in Super Bowl Playoffs due to strike shortened seasons. Through 13 games (10-3) Miami pass defense held offenses to 114 ypg. and forced around 40 turnovers. They had 12 ints in 3 playoff wins. Then 1984 14-2 Miamarino and they threw there way to a SB spectacular year but no defense and 3 fgs by Von Shamann outscored the offense and lost 38-16. Then last AFC Championship the trouncing by the Bills. Once again , no D and few points. This team has won SBs with running and D. But then again, what is football anymore?
The last time we beat a team with a winning record was week #16 of last year we beat Dallas in Miami by 1 or 2 on a game winning drive for an FG. I think that was the only win over a winning team. The pieces have been here but they have been broken down on the sidelines for last year and this one. Some of last year's seriously injured players haven't even played this year! Chubb and Wynn haven't played. Phillips has played 3 games... Injuries have killed Miami during McD's reign. In other venues, I called for a massive internal and external auditing of Miami's health and injury prevention coaching personnel and extending into related departments such as dietitians and psychologists and the like. There just has to be answers as to why this team has been so plagued well below the average team health rate. Last year our OL regs played about 58% of the time (accounting for number of starts and a small estimate deducted for in game time loss due to injury). Buffalo's OL started EVERY game last year and may in fact be doing that again this year!! Flip those playtime percentages and we would have won the division by week #14 or so! We had the team last year but it broke down. This year has seen reduced calibre of play despite less injuries so we have more ground to cover to make next year relevant!
@@joeblog2672 Did you study the injuries from the Flores 3 years here , because a coach who is friends with his players can lead to slacking in conditioning .
@joeblog2672 Shula used to do two-a-days and rarely did they get the injury bug. In the Summer it could be easily 120⁰ and 99% humidity in the sun. I can attest to that working as a Concrete Form Carpenter. Under mcd this team as other ex- teamate said they mentally soft and semingly physically as well due to so many injuries. And it starts with their coach who is all about being buddies and not a leader. This team will never win a SB with a pass happy crowd. Even Marino could only manage 1 td pass in his only SB appearance as Von Schamann scored 9 points. The defense was no where to be found that day. This team doesnt want to win. They dont have players like the no names, killer bees, zach and Jason or Csonka, kick or warfield. As tua screamed " Show me the money!!!!" thats all football is mainly about - no division titles, playoff wins but give me 50 million.
Thanks Kyle
We are cooked.

The safety play has been lackluster all year to say the least.

Ramsey, too, but we have no pass rush. Weaver can't just drop back into coverage with no rush or we'll get picked apart all game.
@ I’m hoping a year 2 Chop and Healthy Jaelen Philips remedies most of that but they definitely need another DT/Edge rusher

Texans have some o-line issues and chop and Campbell may make this a winner. Chubb a wildcard
O-line is going to be the most worrisome against the Texans. Hopefully they can protect Tua against a good d-line. Go dolphins
I'm not as worried about the protection, but we have been terrible at run blocking for the last month or more so that needs to improve. We need a run game to beat the Texans imo
More worried about Joe Mixon and Collins, Shultz torched this defensive back 7
If they can get to Tua in less than two seconds, yes. Otherwise, I think we'll be fine.

Achane as our 3rd and 4th down power short yardage run game is not the answer. He's awesome but not in that role.
I get a kick out of everyone saying bad defense effort. Aaron Rodgers’s was back to being who he is. He played a great game. We better get sharper and quicker to beat the Houston s

starters 1 DT, 2 Safety's, 1 LB and a Corner. Offensive starters, 2 Guards, a #2 WR & TE 🤷♂️.

Dolphins can win Texas but a A+ game!😮
Every pick in next draft needs yo be on defense and it needs to be done by someone other than Grier
