I have so much respect for what you usually say Kaajalben. But this is oversimplifying a very complex issue. That 'women are treated as devis in India' is an overhyped idea and it is naive to think like that. The issues women face in India or anywhere if they are dependent has been well researched. I can say first hand there is no respect for a woman's housework - the most undervalued job in the world. Also you have to stop assuming that the upbringing of girls happens in balanced and sanskari families. I was a victim of physical violence in my own home by both my mother and brother. Stop pushing this hype please.
