It's only 2 days left before his enlistment, so I think there will be no promotion for this album. Don't get me wrong, I obviously hope this song can be more well recognized through the promotion, I swear that he beyonds deserve it. Video Analysis: (The blind folded people:) Everyone has their own perception of you of how they see you, your family, your significant other, or his fans. But they don't see him and judge him for who he really is. They see him through a blindfold, so they never see the true him, just what they want to see or who he presents to them (The shooting star + Reflection: ) The shooting star is most likely himself and who he presents to the world, in the beginning of the music video their is only one shooting star crystal but 5 different reflections, meaning that even though their is only one of him he always presents different personas of himself but never his true self. At the end of the video when he puts the shooting star in front of the mirror their is no reflection, meaning that he's accepting and wanting to show his true self. Alternatively you can read it as the five shinee members all being separate people but in the end when their is just one shooting star we understand that shinee is one and is strongest shining as one. (The Rose:) The flower itself is in tact but there are noticeable petals that have died underneath. Also it is all encased in a glass box. symbolizing fragility and life and how even though there are dead petals their is new life in the strong white rose. (The color White:) White symbolizes purity illumination and new beginnings. We see this color on the Rose, the clouds, the fish, the people, on Onew himself (The Fish in the balloon:) Correct me if I'm wrong but those fish look like white halfmoon betta fish known to be aggressive when with another fish. They fight for dominance. This could mean that even though they look calm, the two sides of himself are constantly fighting each other, one appearing more than the other. They are also fragile though as the home that they know and live in could pop at any second, showing how unstable this lifestyle constantly battling yourself is. (The water:) Water symbolizes purity and a source of life, renewal and transformation. Just before he grabs the shooting star it becomes one single shooting star in the reflection he drips water from his hands meaning he himself is having an internal transformation. (The rundown house:) In dreams a house can symbolize yourself so a rundown house symbolizes that you aren't taking care of yourself. For Onew he is focusing so much on his outer appearance as Onew and how he needs to present himself in public in front of fans family talkshows that he's neglecting himself and who he is. (The lyrics:) Overall I think he is saying their is beauty in being alone and taking sometime for yourself but at the same time being alone for too long can feel sad as you self reflect and start to nitpick and judge all the parts your unsatisfied with about yourself. Their is solace in separating yourself from other to know who you truly are but a sense of sadness when you look at yourself and don't know who you are because you spend so much time being someone for other people that when no one's there its hard to understand who you are. It's like the two sides of coin, being alone can be good but it also has its down sides but overall its calming and comforting. Am I the only one that sees something so special in Onew, that not a lot have? It seems like he learned the experience of life and understand himself and the world well. He is strong, because he is mature enough to learn from his problems and grow with it. It’s hard to explain, but I feel like he is an old soul. I think that nowadays, people are really into more pop music and dance music but fail to appreciate simplistic, slow, calming music with just a simple piano and other beautiful classical instruments, sang with such emotion. Onew deserves so much recognition for this masterpiece, as do the another Shinee members as well for their solo songs ,especially since they have gone through SO much over the 10 years. i agree with u. my mood is always changing, so i need every kind of music. i don't always want catchy songs. i'm just so happy that he made this album by using his talent, voice, to the full.
some people love chocolate, some hate it. some people prefer salty food than sweet food. it's all about the preference, and i realize nowadays generations are more into pop song, not just kpop fans but almost all young generations in the world. Just like how young generation dont understand why we listen the old song and boring in their opinion, we also judge them exactly the same.
I don’t listen to this song as often as I should, because there’s something so sad in this melody, so heartbreaking in Jinki’s voice that it brings tears to my eyes every time. But sometimes there are days like today, when I miss him so much that even crying is better then not listening to his angelic voice. Jinki, please, come back quickly.

Yes it’s true when I first got into Shinee I knew their voices the second I heard them. Didn’t have a hard time knowing who’s singing at all. Their voices are truly a gift.
Onew is an effortlessly amazing singer. He doesn't have to scream, doesn't need to put all his power, just sings calmly, coolly, easily, it always turns out good. Only a few singers have this quality. But for this song I feel he does put his best, all efforts he has, like never before, as if it's his last time singing. Yes. So emotional! It's very hard for them to loose one out of five. They will always remember and keep the memories of five. I think the light at the end is the strength from the sky from which they are missing so much. Even though it shows only one reflection, I hope the light becomes very bright and finally it fills the whole space. I'm still a little bit worried for every member.. not to feel very lonely. I wanna share my story here about what recently happened to me. I was a few days ago at a medical center in the waiting area, playing SM super Star Onew’s blue, I made sure the sound was low, but this old lady next heard it and once I finished she told me this in spanish: “ What a beautiful song that was, what a beautiful voice that boy has, could you play it again? “ I was speechless I of course played the song once again for her. Its beautiful how music can transcend any language barrier we may have. You only need to feel and let that message transmit, Jinki DID THAT. 💗

I'm amazed of how the Onew tells this story. The shating star, the people, the home, looking up to the skies. It seems to me that when you feel so small, there's a home you can shield on and someone is giving a light to the lonely heart.
This is a beautiful song and if the translations I read were correct this is about the duality of emotions. This is a difficult concept to understand especially when hard times come upon us that we can feel joy at the same time we are in the midst of the pain. If we can embrace all our emotions then the fear will not engulf us. Emotions like anger, fear and sadness are not bad and like joy and happiness help us make sense of why and how we are to travel in this life. I didn't understand the duality of emotions until I was in my 50s when I separated from my ex husband and then my mom passed away soon after. One day when I had a happy moment I realized that happiness and sadness can coexist at the same time. This feeling of two emotions inside me lightened my burden. For someone who has had chronic depression on and off my whole it was blessing to come to this realization. I"m glad that Onew understands this at an early age because it will serve him well. Thank you Onew.

I feel like hes expressing his emotions towards what happened to jong. He picks up the middle diamond symbolising jong and goes through what jong probably went through as well, feeling sad and depressed bc everyone was oblivious to his feelings. He then gets destroyed by his own emotions but onew is there to show us that hopefully jong has found peace and happiness in the little house and will shine brighter than ever. It is also my opinion that at 3:23, when those blind-folded people are towering over him, it is like last year when many Korean people started judging him blindly, criticising and boycotting him without knowing the truth of his "scandal". The diamond part to me represented SHINee, and that there is no SHINee without any member
My two cents. I think Onew gave the most honest account of what happened to Jonghyun. The innocence lost, people not understanding and judging him. And in some way, he is also telling us that he was on the same path as Jonghyun considering what happened to Onew last year. But I think, Jonghyun's passing and the love of his members and us Shawols jolted him back to his senses and was able to find his way back home. I think that's what the lighted diamond represented.
My take on the symbolism in the video- The first shot is a reverse take where we see the weathered things turn back to their old selves. Onew wakes up in this house. It probably represents that this is where he belongs. The diamond in all clarity reflects SHINee as a whole. The five mirrors are for each member. We can also see that the diamond is quite clear. Next up onew takes the diamond and goes outside. It represents how he, as the leader holds responsibility for the whole group. The blindfolded people show how he was judged blindly when he was falsely accused in the sexual assault case. And it shows how it's just two people and then it goes up to four and once again there's a group of people shown looking at him through blindfolded eyes. It symbolises how the public failed to see the whole picture. Also the increasing people shows the increased hate he got from outside and his own fandom. Then he sees himself all alone on the horizon. It shows how lonely he felt with all the people judging him blindly. But then the other self disappears and onew finds his own hands drenched in water and then he turns around to see these giant human figures staring down at him. It shows how small and overwhelmed he felt surrounded by all the hate and wrong perception of the public towards him. In the end we have the shooting star collide with the diamond. It shows how Jjong left a part of himself and how his light will always shine through SHINee. Onew looks at the diamond and then looks at the small house he woke up in. This means that he realised that he needs to go back to where he belongs and bring the diamond back to its original place hence carry on with SHINee. When he enters the house, it's quite messy which shows all the troubles SHINee went through as a group. But the diamond now shines even brighter and he places it back in its original place. Also one of the mirrors is really foggy ( Jjong) and cannot reflect back the diamond. This shows how the mirror is still a part of the set up but it's unable to reflect the diamond anymore. Which possibly shows how Jjong is there in spirit if not physically for us to see. It's just what I think that the video represents it can mean something else too but there's surely references of Jjong and SHINee. Also the clouds reflect purple AND pearl aqua colour.

After five or more times watching, here’s my impression on the symbolism embedded in the video: Three fish: his band mates, whom he cares for and watches after. One white rose, preserved forever in a crystal case, on what looks like ashes: Jonghyun’s soul after leaving this world. The figure he sees in the distance: himself. He is brought to face himself. Perhaps that’s what makes him discover the “joy in loneliness “, as the lyrics say. The couple, the family, the people in blindfold: society, not seeing him and his true self. Then judging him, making him feel small. The blue light comes to him to break this delusion and reveal to him and everyone the truth: Shinee must go on. He comes back home, returns the blue stone to its rightful place, and follows the light’s trajectory with his ever watchful eye. The eye of the one chosen to protect Shinee. 💙💙💙💙💙 I’m sure there are so many more symbols (the water, the thunder, his sleeves)... but I guess I’ll leave it at that.

i remember it was 2012, i was barely into kpop. at that time i only know beast because i like yoseob, so i bought a concert dvd (kwave in thailand) and shinee performed Sherlock and did a special stage of Sorry Sorry. it was really the first time i fall for someone's voice, and that person is onew. i really like his voice when he performed Sorry Sorry. his voice is undoubtedly unique, because i haven't found anyone who sounded like him (not that i've explored all kpop group) but his voice is really one in a million. since then, and until now, i'm still a big fan of shinee and i'll always love onew's voice. in the time i was down, his voice really comfort me. i hope he'll do well in his military service 💚

Overall I think he is saying their is beauty in being alone and taking sometime for yourself but at the same time being alone for too long can feel sad as you self reflect and start to nitpick and judge all the parts your unsatisfied with about yourself. Their is solace in separating yourself from other to know who you truly are but a sense of sadness when you look at yourself and don't know who you are because you spend so much time being someone for other people that when no one's there its hard to understand who you are. It's like the two sides of coin, being alone can be good but it also has its down sides but overall its calming and comforting.

I don’t listen to this song as often as I should, because there’s something so sad in this melody, so heartbreaking in Jinki’s voice that it brings tears to my eyes every time. I wanna share my story here about what recently happened to me. I was a few days ago at a medical center in the waiting area, playing SM super Star Onew’s blue, I made sure the sound was low, but this old lady next heard it and once I finished she told me this in spanish: “ What a beautiful song that was, what a beautiful voice that boy has, could you play it again? “ I was speechless I of course played the song once again for her. I'm amazed of how the Onew tells this story. The shating star, the people, the home, looking up to the skies. It seems to me that when you feel so small, there's a home you can shield on and someone is giving a light to the lonely heart.
This is a beautiful song and if the translations I read were correct this is about the duality of emotions. This is a difficult concept to understand especially when hard times come upon us that we can feel joy at the same time we are in the midst of the pain. If we can embrace all our emotions then the fear will not engulf us. Emotions like anger, fear and sadness are not bad and like joy and happiness help us make sense of why and how we are to travel in this life.
I didn't understand the duality of emotions until I was in my 50s when I separated from my ex husband and then my mom passed away soon after. One day when I had a happy moment I realized that happiness and sadness can coexist at the same time. This feeling of two emotions inside me lightened my burden. For someone who has had chronic depression on and off my whole it was blessing to come to this realization.
I"m glad that Onew understands this at an early age because it will serve him well. Thank you Onew.

I feel like hes expressing his emotions towards what happened to jong. He picks up the middle diamond symbolising jong and goes through what jong probably went through as well, feeling sad and depressed bc everyone was oblivious to his feelings. My two cents.
I think Onew gave the most honest account of what happened to Jonghyun. The innocence lost, people not understanding and judging him. And in some way, he is also telling us that he was on the same path as Jonghyun considering what happened to Onew last year. But I think, Jonghyun's passing and the love of his members and us Shawols jolted him back to his senses and was able to find his way back home. I think that's what the lighted diamond represented.

My take on the symbolism in the video-
The first shot is a reverse take where we see the weathered things turn back to their old selves. Onew wakes up in this house. It probably represents that this is where he belongs.
The diamond in all clarity reflects SHINee as a whole. The five mirrors are for each member. We can also see that the diamond is quite clear.
Next up onew takes the diamond and goes outside. It represents how he, as the leader holds responsibility for the whole group.
The blindfolded people show how he was judged blindly when he was falsely accused in the sexual assault case. And it shows how it's just two people and then it goes up to four and once again there's a group of people shown looking at him through blindfolded eyes. It symbolises how the public failed to see the whole picture. Also the increasing people shows the increased hate he got from outside and his own fandom. Then he sees himself all alone on the horizon. It shows how lonely he felt with all the people judging him blindly. But then the other self disappears and onew finds his own hands drenched in water and then he turns around to see these giant human figures staring down at him. It shows how small and overwhelmed he felt surrounded by all the hate and wrong perception of the public towards him.
In the end we have the shooting star collide with the diamond. It shows how Jjong left a part of himself and how his light will always shine through SHINee. Onew looks at the diamond and then looks at the small house he woke up in. This means that he realised that he needs to go back to where he belongs and bring the diamond back to its original place hence carry on with SHINee. When he enters the house, it's quite messy which shows all the troubles SHINee went through as a group. But the diamond now shines even brighter and he places it back in its original place. Also one of the mirrors is really foggy ( Jjong) and cannot reflect back the diamond. This shows how the mirror is still a part of the set up but it's unable to reflect the diamond anymore. Which possibly shows how Jjong is there in spirit if not physically for us to see.
It's just what I think that the video represents it can mean something else too but there's surely references of Jjong and SHINee.
Also the clouds reflect purple AND pearl aqua colour.

I can't even put into words how mesmerizing and magnificent this video is. The emotion in this song, the emptiness throughout the video, all the aesthetics, his voice alone, I couldn't even think watching this video. It literally froze me. The first time I heard this song i almost cried. His voice is so beautiful. And the piano is top notch.
After five or more times watching, here’s my impression on the symbolism embedded in the video: Three fish: his band mates, whom he cares for and watches after. One white rose, preserved forever in a crystal case, on what looks like ashes: Jonghyun’s soul after leaving this world. The figure he sees in the distance: himself. He is brought to face himself. Perhaps that’s what makes him discover the “joy in loneliness “, as the lyrics say. The couple, the family, the people in blindfold: society, not seeing him and his true self. Then judging him, making him feel small. The blue light comes to him to break this delusion and reveal to him and everyone the truth: Shinee must go on. He comes back home, returns the blue stone to its rightful place, and follows the light’s trajectory with his ever watchful eye. The eye of the one chosen to protect Shinee. 💙💙💙💙💙 I’m sure there are so many more symbols (the water, the thunder, his sleeves)... but I guess I’ll leave it at that.

i remember it was 2012, i was barely into kpop. at that time i only know beast because i like yoseob, so i bought a concert dvd (kwave in thailand) and shinee performed Sherlock and did a special stage of Sorry Sorry. it was really the first time i fall for someone's voice, and that person is onew. i really like his voice when he performed Sorry Sorry. his voice is undoubtedly unique, because i haven't found anyone who sounded like him (not that i've explored all kpop group) but his voice is really one in a million. since then, and until now, i'm still a big fan of shinee and i'll always love onew's voice. in the time i was down, his voice really comfort me. i hope he'll do well in his military service 💚
