This was a great video and after getting a quote for the installation of a basic touch screen radio from an installer which included a $250 labor cost, I started looking for a cheaper alternative. After watching your video I ordered one of these radios and following your instructions easily installed my own. The only issue That I ran into was I was not sure where to plug in the usb cable so I left it off. Thanks!

@@Edscomment My Jeep is an unlimited trim so I only have volume and skip on my steering wheel, both of those still work with the included controller. If you have the Sahara or Rubicon all the other controls are suppose to work, but unfortunately I can’t verify that. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video. I just installed the 2GB version into my 2014 wrangler Sahara which had the UConnect/SiriusXM touch screen radio. It works well and I’m really surprised at the value you get here. Have you figured out how to remove apps from the Home Screen in order to add the ZLink app?
Awesome, thank you for watching! I have not added the Zlink app to the home page, I wasn’t aware you could do that so I’ll look into it. I always wait for it to auto boot which takes about 15 seconds or open the app page and click the Zlink app. I’ll try and see if I can get it added to the home page and update you if I figure it out.

I sure could use some advice on the camera install. Reversing rigger line called a6. However no lines is marked as such…I’ve got key1 and key 2. White, brown…anybody know which it might be?

@@vinceowens165 thank you for watching! I had a similar issues and took me awhile to figure out, very frustrating. I’m going to do a reverse camera install video, just haven’t had time to record yet. Back by the camera you have a red, black, and another red wire connected to that yellow RCA type connector. Black goes to ground, both reds tie together and go to the power side of your reverse light. Then the yellow RCA cable by your radio had a red wire that need to be hooked up as a trigger. If you have the same radio I do, this wire was not labeled but is the pink wire in the main power harness on the radio. I hope this helps and I was able to explain ok, if not keep an eye out for the reverse camera video and I’m going to cover all of this. Thanks again for watching!
Hey, great video! Very informative. Do you know if the reverse camera will only come on when the Jeep is in reverse? Having a two door I don't really need a backup camera and am wondering if it can be mounted on the front of the Jeep and turned on while not in reverse? Like the front cameras on the new Jeeps.
Thank you! The way I have it set up the camera receives power and turns on while in reverse. You could mount it on the front though and put the power side on a toggle switch. That would let you turn the front camera on when out on the trail or something. Thanks for watching!

@@paulswanholm-do3un Absolutely! I try to reply as quick as possible. At around 9:15 in the video I show how I ran the wire for the GPS, I mounted it on top of the dash in the center. My dash has a little square cast into the plastic and that’s where I stuck it. I realize I didn’t get a great shot of doing this but hope that answers your question.
@@JKJeep It did. I bought one and while hooking it up realized where you mounted the GPS antenna. Unfortunately, the radio turned out to be a piece of crap and needs to get sent back. It seemed to be working at first, but now has quite a few problems. I'm not blaming you, maybe I got a bad one, I don't know. Oh well

If you go into the radio settings you can change it from there. You have to put in the passcode, which is 8888 to access the settings menu. From there you can change this as well as many other things. Thanks for watching!
I am having troubles with the steering wheels controls not working. Am I missing something, I used all steps you did and they do not work. I plugged factor head unit back in and it worked perfectly
I ran into the same issue, if you look at all the wires grouped with the main large wire harness, there is also that black box that’s part of it, running off this is a little wire harness with 2 wires, mine are blue and yellow, connect this to the head unit, the slot I used is the one next to the opening for all the audio and video and whatnot wire harness, hope this helps

Thank you for watching! There is a little lag but it’s not terrible. It is pretty responsive to switching between screens, but the transition isn’t as smooth as your phone or a higher end unit. When on the main screen, listening to music while using the GPS there is no noticeable lag. Overall better than I expected out of a unit at this price point. I would still recommend this if you are looking to get wireless car play in your vehicle with something you can put in yourself without spending a fortune. Thanks again for watching

The previous and next buttons also work for skipping songs. I have been impressed with the features of this radio at this price point. My Jeep does not have the phone button on the steering wheel so I cannot say for certain, but I bet it does work. Dang, that is not good sorry that happened. Luckily the harness they provide makes it so you don’t have to cut your factory harness. Have you reached out to their customer service? @ I ran the wiring for one under the carpet to the glovebox and then to the radio. I was making a video on it but all my content got deleted unfortunately. Run through the center of the rear gate where the other wires come through, then behind the plastic on the passenger side of the car all the way to the glovebox. Thank you for watching!

My Jeep does not have the phone button, but if you have it then it should bring up your phone assistant to make calls/text. It comes with a microphone, I can just say “Siri” and have my phone send a text or make a call all through the Apple car play.

Mine was working great until a few weeks ago when it completely got frozen… I tried everything but it just gets stuck on the android boot screen :( any advice?

This head unit has terrible reviews. Anyone have any issues with this head unit?

Mine was working great until a few weeks ago when it completely got frozen… I tried everything but it just gets stuck on the android boot screen :( any advice?
