I feel so sorry for Kevin Conroy (RIP)! He gave one hell of a final performance as the Dark Knight, but it's not HIS fault that his character was written by writers that (I swear to god) were brainwashed by Brainiac.
I hope this is a lesson to game writers. You are given a really important trust when you are writing a continuation to something like the legacy of the Arkham games. A trust that should never ever be taken for granted. Yeah its just videogames, but to some it was really important. People felt those old games. You never truly know if reconning a story will truly be the last time for a character. You saw the three games and the finality of them and were like, "nope! lets bring him back"...like it all meant nothing to anyone because you just...wanted to. With no clear plan. Now, Kevin is gone, and no re-retcon will ever fix your mistake. You could bring the character back with a different voice but it'll never be the same as Kevin and Mark Hamill signing off the right way, years ago. That's dead now. Forever now people will have to mentally block out what has been tarnished. You should have never even touched it. You could have made a suicide squad game that had nothing at all to do with the legacy of Arkham, and Kevin's performance. That would have been fine. But now...your selfish decision...for marketing? is tied to his memory. You broke that trust.
They didn't know Kevin would pass by the time they finished recording. It's just not their fault on that regard, but I do agree that it's left a bad taste in general when thinking about Kevin Conroy. That and how batman is handled in general sucks.
Putting aside the fact that even if Kevin was still alive, this was super disrespectful for the character alone. Kevin was at a level that having him, as Batman, was a gift that has immense cultural significance. Especially as this specific character. You never take that sort of gift for granted. That goes double if they are above the age of 60. Like sticking Christopher Lee in the Hobbit or Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek into Darkness or Carrie Fisher in Star Wars Rise of Skywalker. These are all actors, at a high level, playing characters that have mass resonance with a lot of people. In projects that didn't fully understand that. They were all of advanced age and it needs to be part of the equation. I don't care if Rocksteady casted Kevin as Batman in a cereal commercial....you don't mess it up. Because older people die, and it could be the last bookend to a legendary performance. You don't disrespect it.

A moving tribute to one of the greatest men in DC history. I still love the game so much. It’s quite a nice ending on Conroy’s Arkham Batman and give’s him on last chance to explore Batman’s psychology which is something he loved. I think he would’ve liked the Batman in this game.

Least they couldve done was given the option like all good games to spare and save the heroes, if not replace the batman with nightwing or robin like they always did. It kills the joy of the game.
Yeah and they KILLED ROBIN TOO! And Batman’s nice speech to Robin about Nightwing, Oracle, and Redhood was quite literally all for nothing since Robin died in that exact spot TO Batman.
Disagree, that would mean that there would need to be multiple endings and for a game like this, it wouldn't work. Is like that for a lot of games, so are those games bad? Dumb argument. They should've made the deaths better.

And there are many whop will. Either way, thank you Mr. Conroy for making so many of our childhoods and beyond so awesome. You will be and shall be missed.

Nah both suck, ima just pretend none of these games happened and are just elseworld fanfics
I’m not the biggest fan of Arkham Knight, because of it’s story, but I’ll still take it as the final ending of the series.
no, lets just pretend it ended with arkham knight, that had a good ending. (cause he didnt die, and you can imagine how much crime rates went down when he popped back up after his supposed death and everyone starts hallucinating him as some terrifying bat monster)
@@Lajos_Kelemen yeah, the whole arkham knight thing was dumb, couldve been done much better. like if jason was calm and slowly started to mentally deteoriate throughout the story, and scarecrow was the more bitter angry one (i mean look at what happened to the dude) it wouldve been so much better. but the ending was still good, and its still a great game.
Thank you Kevin for everything. We will miss you and we will never forget you. Rest in peace 😭😢

The only one that doesn't make sense is Harley. She is only their bc she is popular, Simple as that. Hate how people are acting as if these villians that fight the heros are weak. It would've made more sense if batman broke free from brainiacs control and helped the suicide squad and then he passes away from the injuries at the end with a beautiful sunset.
Feels weird how they put this in after they killed barman

This game is a tragedy towards Kevin Conroy's and his Batman's legacy.
A moving tribute to one of the greatest men in DC history. I still love the game so much. It’s quite a nice ending on Conroy’s Arkham Batman and give’s him on last chance to explore Batman’s psychology which is something he loved. I think he would’ve liked the Batman in this game.
he did love it thats why he recorded the lines and did an amazing job voiceing it (also not from me saying it that was the devs who said that who worked with him every day)
Least they couldve done was given the option like all good games to spare and save the heroes, if not replace the batman with nightwing or robin like they always did. It kills the joy of the game.
Yeah and they
KILLED ROBIN TOO!
@@themonstergamer5441If they really wanted to thank Kevin, they should’ve made a far, far better game then.
Maybe they could have rewrote the story to have the villains actually help the hero’s because it’s the right thing to do?
Batman killed robin off screen lmao
Jason O’Mara should go on to do the voices of Batman in the future. He’s not bad Kevin’s legacy is cemented and will always be with us 😇🥹 thank you Kevin
It wasn't the best way to take him out but also to give credit i don't think they knew how soon he'd pass nor had time to do anything better outside of this before release, i feel they would have wanted him to voice something like this if they had the ability to do so. But still a shame it had to happen like it did.

OMG!!!! This just made me drop my head and shed a tear. I remember watching the very first episode of Batman: TAS in 1992. It was on Fox Kids on a Saturday morning. Heard his voice and said PERFECT!!! And for over 30 years, always heard Kevin Conroys voice whenever I read a Batman comic or saw some artwork. And then we lost the Legend, Kevin Conroy...the true Batman. And then to see his Batman get killed like a punk by Harley.....makes me sick to my stomach. There are many that will not understand this. And there are many whop will. Either way, thank you Mr. Conroy for making so many of our childhoods and beyond so awesome. You will be and shall be missed.
The balls they had to have to make this after completely butchering the character and Kevin's final performance as Batman disgusts me.
This was just insulting.
You guys actually need to touch grass. Kevin loved this team and flew out to London to meet the devs. He read the script and wanted to do it. Since Crisis he’s been saying he loved doing an evil Batman. This is a send off to their friend it’s not insulting. This wasn't a tribute to Conroy, the game was a MIDDLE finger to Conroys ENTIRE LEGACY, but he's coming back one more time in the animated series.
I just want to say one thing: while I haven’t played the game and know a lot of people weren’t crazy about it, I still am grateful to see Kevin Conroy in something posthumously.
The game may not be the best, but it still makes me happy to at least hear his voice one more time as Batman. I grew up watching the reruns of the old animated series and loved the Arkham games in high school /early college days. He’ll always be my Batman.
Rest in Peace Kevin, we miss you.

Even Batman's pose here is reminiscent of his Animated Show. RIP Kevin Conroy. 🫡
It may be questionable what Rocksteady did by killing the one who started this entire universe 🤦♂️.
BUT what they did by honoring Asylum, City and Knight in various parts of the game is beautiful and fine and Lois Lane's message hurt me a lot since Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman, he is a hero for everyone and the one of our childhoods.
