  • This is the older Sound & Light system from GT Power. It is used in conjunction with an external Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) so you can choose your own preferred ESC, it's very basic and should fit your requirements if you're building on a budget.

    Thank you so much for this video. I have just been able to connect all of my light and sounds after watching it. Great job and so easy to understand your instructions 👍👍

    Lipo vs NiMH comparison was enlightening! With NiMH, initial power surge dropped the voltage into the FIVES!! 😮 Significant.
    Teri, I was really hoping you would get to this one! I have one now in storage, waiting for us to get out of this MESS. 😭 It's going into a Budget Semi project with a Hercules Hobby Truck kit....
    I DON'T expect it to be Tamiya quality, but it may help a lot of people who would love to get into these, but don't have Thousands to spend.
    (Like I am now)
    When I can, I'd love to get a second one of these. I think I like the Entry Level better. Less FAFF, less confusion, no phone needed!!
    Thanks for doing this one! 😉

      I was also surprised and it just shows how much current the stock motor can draw without any load. I only really use Nimh for light duty stuff such as the light system in my trailer. All my trucks now run lipo.

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess I should run Lipo, since I'm either using a Hobbywing WP-1080 ESC or Beier USM-RC-3.

    The sound you said was gear change was the sound for the 5th wheel uncoupling of the trailer

    Teri.... I wish I had thought about THIS. I remember you saying that you prefer the Bluetooth version.
    I'm guessing you didn't use this basic vrsion, and i would have asked for that too! I could have really used this with a budget truck build i'll be doing by end of Summer......

    Hi Teri. I've got a GT Power System like on the video. (I fly Mode 1 and all my trucks are in Mode 1 as well). Does the system still work if I change the throttle and steering to a different channel i.e. mode 1. Great videos by the way! Keep up the good work! 👍

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      as long as you plug the Input Control leads in the corresponding channels on the Receiver, then it should work.

  • @dalecripps1291
    @dalecripps1291 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    or can we run the GT power off of the speed controller on the truck

  • @CarmineRC
    @CarmineRC ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Once again, thank you for this! I wish I could afford 2 more of these...
    It has everything I need, NOTHING I don't!!
    No FAFFING with phones, which I can't use.
    And nearly as plug-and-play as an MFC-01/03. It would be great for two Budget Diesel builds I've got coming up... or maybe even make my Grandson!
    How did you get Throttle/Steering on the CORRECT sticks?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To get the throttle/steering working correctly it's a simple case of figuring out which channel to plug the leads into. not all RX are set up the same :)

    • @CarmineRC
      @CarmineRC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. My Flysky FS-i6X has ch 1 for steering and ch 3 for Throttle.
      So.... it's only as simple as deciding which inputs to plug into the Receiver?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is as simple as that yes 👍

    Hello. Thanks for the review. Okay, tell me, if I don't have such a power adapter, how can I connect this whole system? Will you need two batteries?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you could use 2 batteries but that would take up more room in your model, it would be easier and better to get an adaptor lead to be able to power up the unit as well as the ECS from the same battery.

    Hey Teri. Trying to figure out what is the best remote to use with the system. Same gt power system with one sound. In the manual it shows the 2 joystick type remote I dont have yet. So 6 channel / 8 channel / 10 channel/ 12 channel

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the GT Power unit needs 4 channels to operate it.... If you're on a budget, I say go for the Flysky FS-i6X which comes with a 6 channel receiver but can support a 10 channel receiver (that's what the X means)... plus it has a 20 model memory so you can use the one radio for many models.
      be careful not to pay too much for them from because I've seen some sellers asking over $100 for a $60 radio. and it's advisable to fit a return spring on the left throttle stick which are only a couple of $.
      I prefer to use a Spektrum radio which are a lot more expensive

    Hello. I'm new to the semi world and doing research before my first build. I want to run this sound system for sure. I have a Futaba 7pxr transmitter that I use for all of my RC's and would like to do so with my Semi. Can this be used for the GT control system?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never been a fan of pistol type radios so I've never looking into how they work but bear in mind that you need 4 channels that are 3 position.

      Not really, Nmhi is fine but a Lipo is more stable when powering the motor.

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว

      as this system doesn't have a ESC I can only assume there is an issue with your ESC, Receiver to transmitter signal (bind) or a wire isn't plugged in correctly.

  • @dalecripps1291
    @dalecripps1291 ปีที่แล้ว

    do you need to plug in your speed controller to this,

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need a separate ESC and it does run through this system as do the servos. This is to facilitate the engine speed sound and turn indicators.
