Please stop hosting social liberals on this podcast, this person drew many faulty analyses from his research (particularly on matters of homosexuality and “toxic masculinity”), his logical shortcomings simply offer further proof as to why social science ought not tread of philosophy’s domain.
I was raised in the 60's and 70's, and the men then had male friends and a male best friend. Then in the late 70's, the idea that the girlfriend or wife was to be the boyfriends/husband's best friend, came in to being. But to me this is wrong: marriage is love and honor, but men and women are far to different, or should be, to be the best friend. Men hanging around too many women get blasted by female hormones. I can smell the difference when a man has been hanging around with manly men, as apposed to hanging around with women. When I date, and the man says he wants me to be his best friend, I won't date him again.
