- Archaeologists found ancient date pits that belong to the extinct Judean date palms. In an incredible attempt to bring them back to life, a few trees sprouted!
In this episode, we visit the date farms in the south of Israel, see the ancient date palm, and share a delicious frozen date recipe.

@@4thegloryofthelord , I follow several biblical archeological blogs as well as being a faithful reader of the Israeli press. Every few years there have been updates on the trees. You might find articles about reviving Balm of Gilead and frankincense in Israel interesting. Maybe our wonderful vloggers will check those stories out too!! Hint hint.

it;s fiction dates seeds are only fertile for about a year, not 2000 years ,Commercial growers do not use seeds to grow dates they take the small plants of a mature tree,

Keep in mind that according to the original plan, Adam had a role of a gardener, so the seeds are our specialty, that's what humans do.
Fantastic video! There's so much time invested for the farmers producing dates. A date farmer in southern California told me it takes 6-7 years before a new tree produces the first crop. For several years, we farmed luffa and always saved the seeds to replant for the next year. God is amazing in how He designed seeds that could last for so long.
Psalms 92:12-15
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree (date palm),
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing,

I am from Brazil and I never tried these fruits, they are not sold here, but I am really impressed by the story of those seeds, that were able to resist 2000 years, and now can be used to bring back an extinct species.

Awesome! Really enjoyed the episode. Very cool to learn about the trees and the efforts to reconstruct a part of the culture that was lost. Also, very cool to see different parts of the country that is not part of the usual tourist experience. The recipe section at the end was a great addition. Keep it up.
