This is a nice one. 1959 Desotos were pretty cars. Although the Firesweep was the lowest priced DeSoto model sharing body structure with Dodge, it certainly wasn’t a Plain Jane car. This was the third year for Torsionaire Ride ( torsion bar front suspension) which made Chrysler products handle like a sports car compared to everything else on the road at that time.
That is one beautiful automobile. I always liked 1957 to 1959 DeSoto's and Dodge's because of the way the tailfins were incorporated in to the overall design. And the tail-lights were so futuristic looking. This DeSoto entails everything one could want in an car. Thank you for the video...I really enjoyed it and if I had the money, I would certainly be interested in purchasing that DeSoto!!
Very nice car. Wonder why these never got the respect. That the 57 Chev got? The styling is so close. Quality or maintenance I suppose. They are sure retaining there value nowadays. Your shop looks a little full. If you need a place to store this. I have a garage….
Cost, build, badly advertised or maybe lack of line and or brand recognition a number of things I am just happy that I discovered and type and line of car I never heard of and it looks awesome.
@@jonathancunningham8739 They were dropped because they were made by Chrysler and nicer trim levels and it was like making a vehicle to compete with itself and they cost more than a Chrysler. This is also why they look like a Chrysler 😏
Even as entry level DeSoto, 🎵It's Delightful 🎶It's Delightful 🎵It's DESOTO 🎶and tell them Groucho sent you 😂🎵. 59, 60, and 61s were the best looking DeSotos ever!
whoa form what the video showed me great and beautiful old girl I mean it is in great condition un like the 58 Oldsmobile which could have used a little restoration.
Those wheels are manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes and yes they were available in 59.
Jaw dropping ‘59 Desoto. 😮
Delightful! Delovely!! DeSoto!!! It’s younger than I am!!!!
It's younger than me too
My dad had a 1957 Desoto firesweep. It was a dog. In the garage more often than not. But she was so sweet looking.

WHATA CAR ! LOVE IT ! MUCH BETTER THAN THE 59 CADILLAC IN LOOKS ! CHRYSLER HAD THE SUPERIOR STYLING DURING THIS TIME PERIOD ! MY OPINION !
that is a beauty, no question about it 👍
Desoto's were a Beutiful gentleman's muscle car.
Awesome car. Can't be many of those babies left. We had an old Oldsmobile that had the same kind of speedometer.

Oh thanks I did not know they were Chrysler i thought they were an obscure car brand. @@davidkastin4240
Notice it's done 2500 miles since you last had it for sale. At least the fuel gauge has been fixed. Lovely car.

Incredible how nice this car is...considering the Firesweep was the lowest budget entry model.
