I don't understand framing this as Omniverse trying to answer what the writers thought was a burning question. Part of the joke is that it's a surprise to Ben and the audience.
exactly what I'm thinking, plus Rath having clothes answered the question as to how he magically summoned a phone in "Duped' in UA, OV fixed it by giving him clothes so now him using a phone would make sense
With how savage his species is, it's definitely a recent development born from recent galaxy level travel. Their clothes seem to be very simple and they're way too proud of having a sense of shame if it was something they always had
I seem to recall the an apaplexian reaction to Gravatack crashing in to the table by saying something like See, even he agrees with is(and being ready for war)
I like how it was explained in And Beyond, that Appoplexians naturally don't wear clothes, but started once they become more advanced and connected to the galaxy thanks to help from the Luodans.
I really like how y'all went about it in the And Beyond episode. It's not uncommon four members of the species to go around but it is expected of Representatives that go off world.
To be fair while the other examples you mentioned of “naked” tigers were anthropomorphic ones Khan was just a tiger who could talk so it’d be weird if he actually had clothes
As much as this change sparks a lot of debates from prior uses, i think just the fact that Rath is running around naked, intimidating everyone and doesnt give a shit is a funny enough for me to ignore the implications. Like for example they also show XLR8's specied wearing clothes in Omniverse so ... Yeah he is naked too
I'm pretty sure XLR8 is wearing a skin-tight outfit, kinda like a lot of atheltism clothes. His colors are different in OV and in Ben 10k bc it is an outfit
Honestly, I think its only complicated if you make it complicated in the sense of both the creators and the audience, as I honestly found it to be interesting to find out that Rath was buck naked the whole time. Not to mention that looking back now, Humungasaur was also technically speaking buck naked as well given that in Omniverse, Vaxasaurians also appear to be wearing clothes too.
I just assumed him getting clothes in that one episode was a result of the translation function sticking him in another language since we never see him in clothes before or after
I think its just because they wanted the other appoplexians to have clothes, as it makes it easier to distinguish them, but then rath not wearing clothes would seem weird. They could either not acknowledge it or do what they did Why they couldn't just say that they wear cloths for formal or important events and go natural the rest of the time is o mystery.
Definitely not Upgrade, he morphs like a liquid so can’t be wearing clothes. Him having a white underside when his species is green is a ‘skin’ colour thing if anything. And it’s not even unique to Ben, we see other Galvanic Mechamorphs have white on their designs in the classic series.
@@Bertiboy I think it is supposed to be clothing considering it's given to Ben because his shirt was black and white back then Others might just be using clothing too
@@mertensiam3384 he’s obviously meant to be Ben’s colour scheme of green, black and white but that doesn’t mean he’s wearing clothes. He’s living metal than changes state of matter to stretch and form around technology, it wouldn’t make sense for him to wear something as restrictive as clothing. It’d be like Goop having a bodysuit, it does nothing but prevent the transformations abilities. In Classic I’m pretty sure the intention was that the Mechamorphs’ lines on their bodies would come in various colours with a white underside and black on the rest. Ben being green is just his variation of that.
@@Bertiboy well that actually does make sense. Its just strange how we NEVER see the white underbelly in anyone other than 10-11 yo Upgrade since classic
I think Ben was more confused that some aliens wore clothes while others didn't, and it was an option for him too, but he only ever transformed into aliens, accepted their weird forms and quirks, and only used them for fighting and never thought about it that much. It makes sense that he never questioned why Wild Mutt doesn't wear clothes because the species aren't sapient. It's kind of funny as to why he would be baffled that the alien he transforms into might be viewed as naked to the species he's representing (the Omnitrix was originally supposed to allow the wearer to walk in another species' shoes and experience a different perspective) and unintentionally showing his naked form for all the universe to see every time a camera is pointed at him. He isn't just famous on Earth but also in multiple galaxies.
Even if there was no canonical statement that only sapient species can be in the Omnitrix, Wildmutt has consistently displayed decent intelligence and reasonable behavior(Which yes, makes Ben entirely responsible for destroying Pakmar's flutes). It just cannot speak for whatever reason. Like, we know that the species can theoretically develop the ability to as seen with Ultimate Wildmutt, but it just kinda doesn't.
I liked the clothes gag alot actually I thought it was pretty funny and kind of clever, Like the fact that nobody ever thought of it like that ***is*** the joke
@@arvin6670 the joke of the episode flew right over your head. He speaks Spanish in that episode because Skurd was messing with the translation feature in the Omnitrix, and made Rath speak in Spanish at the end as a way to give Ben what he wanted at the start.

4:47 I think they just wanted been there to make sure things stayed civil and in case things started to get out of hand, he could help diffuse the situation. I love it because i love when a show expands its lore and world in any way, Rath being naked all this time is genuinely funny and this works for a character like him, i dont see the problem really 1:27 maybe appoplexians aren't really around this quandrant of the universe so the people here dont know them and i mean unlike humans or any other species they have fur covering it all, nobody would assume he is supposed to wear clothes 0:42 a good chunk of those are either not very sentient(wildmutt) or are artificial or most likely lack genitals , like upgrade, ghostfreak, big chill(asexual birth), or plant like beings like swampfire and wildvine Goop is a said to be single celled and humungasaur probably doesn't since albedo's actor friend also didn't, and echo echo and feedback are said to be living sound and electricity 1:04 those were jungle animals unlike appoplexians who are a whole sentient society 1:20 but why not 2:44 yeah that was unnecessary 2:55 ok but why is that a bad thing, that it raises questions and lets the fandom engage in them 3:09 i dont see why its necessary, unlike goop's anti gravity projector or brainstorm's breathing brace(apparently) ripjaws doesn't really need a breathing brace to survive , it would be helpful if he out in the sun or near high temperature areas but isn't really an immediate need
I’ve seen Star Wars more times in my life that My fav part of the episode was when the leader bug quoted tarkin saying “evacuate in our moment of triumph I think you overestimate their chances”
If I had to guess, likely Derrick J. Wyatt always intended to give Rath clothes like he did for Jury Rigg, Spider-Monkey, etc. but either he didn't design Rath yet by the time he debuted (like how they used Chromastone's old look for his one early appearance before getting his Omni look in the finale) or they felt Wrath was too iconic an alien and his new design was too much of a departure, so they eventually wrote in that Rath is naked so they could integrate him getting as new design later into the show itself. And we can view the later change as less of a "fix" to the Omnitrix itself by Skurd, and more a preferential change Skurd made because he didn't like Rath was naked. Because it's not like Ben speaking his native language can be viewed as a design flaw and none of the other Appoplexians speak solely Spanish, so that has to be a change Skurd just chose to make.
I think when it comes to Ralph’s species maybe they should’ve said that it’s a new trend for them to wear outfits or they only do it on special occasions. Either these reasons would make sense on why he isn’t wearing any outfit.

Truthfully, it should've been more obvious that all the Alien Force aliens were naked. I mean think about Four Arms, he only had briefs to hide his junk.
i wouldnt say the show "fixed a problem they created" or whatever. i feel like, they just didnt want to make the whole species naked, and couldnt come up with good designs without clothing (good decision imo) and it would be weird if they just didnt address it. and the whole episode is NOT just about "RATH IS NAKED??? NOT CLICKBAIT" its a good episode with many funny moments, and nice characterization and stuff (not specifically aimed at the ink tank, they definetly know that, but some people will probably not watch the video and just go to the comments. i see you.)
That's not what clickbait is. To be clickbait, it must not be a relevant enough part of the video itself. While this complaint is about how it is too present in the video.
@@lpfan4491 the original reply isn't saying the video is clickbait, they're saying the video focuses too much a single scene and treats the episode as if the episode was clickbait
@@justyuriforever Azmuth used the Omnitrix to turn into Rath in Alien Force's Primus episode. If Rath wasn't meant to be naked he'd have noticed it. On another note, I remember reading a statement saying that Albedo's too smart to be affected by Rath's character, but Azmuth was, so that's another weird thing
Now that I think about it though, I think they did it in order to do that funny scene where Ben finds out that Appoplexians where clothes which when I watched it the first time, I thought it was funny.
Mhm now that i think about rath not wearing clothes was a trow away line so maybe after making design for cloth appoplexians they thought it would be weird to not explaining why rath dont have any
The reason could have been tweaked into something cultural. Like, maybe Appoplexian clothes are a status symbol, trophies from previous battles, so Rath not wearing anything makes him difficult to take seriously.
could be a reference to the whole adam and eve thing, being naked in the garden of eden, but without knowing they were naked and not having that knowledge they had no concept of it or shame. Some aliens may not have a concept of being "naked" at all, and could see clothing as either a mark of high status or see it as armor other species need to wear. For many of ben's aliens not having garb could be just the natural state of things, and aliens in undertown or on earth wear clothing because they adapt to the culture around them
If you look at it from a series perspective the omnitrix turn Ben into the prime version of any species depending on his age rath being nude proves he’s the prime version of an Apoplexian Because if they wear clothes out of shame then rath doesn’t wear clothes cause he has none which makes him more manly in my opinion
From a world building perspective. Clothes need to evolve from something, and protecting decency is highly unlikely since why would it be wired being naked if every one was naked. The most prominent reason is protection against the elements (mainly cold), so if appoplexia is in a hot-house period )so even at the poles there is at least a continental if not a temperate climate) and appoplexians maybe arern't tropical like us, and especially with them having fur, clothes maybe really shouldn't exist. Clothes (not decorations a jewellery) also most likely wouldn't evolve just to be decorative. This is also the likely explanation for other aliens not wearing clothes. (Ben 10 those fall into the sci-fi thing of mono-climate planets)
It's a joke about how we specifically don't question it when we see him running around naked. You're presenting it as some weird explanation they just had to come up with. Why?
2:35 even two galvans weren't aware Apploplexians wore clothes! 😅 I dig the idea of Ben using Gravvattack to be wise and patient like his people for the mission. But on the other hand, why doesn't similar effects apply to his other aliens?
I honestly don't think the "Rath is naked" thing was meant to be "course correction" or "fixing" anything. It genuinely just seems to me like a joke they decided to commit to. Hell, maybe they designed the other appoplexians with clothes, realized in hindsight it wouldn't make sense with Rath, so decided to make the joke to sort of lampshade it.
I don't think they ever felt it was an issue, they just thought it would be a pretty funny joke. And it is. The audience is just so used to most of Ben's aliens being nude, that they would never expect "not only is this one alien species not supposed to be nude, they are extremely uncomfortable being nude". It's just funny, because from the perspective of every other alien in the show that isn't Ben, Rath is a crazy, angry nudist from the species that absolutely would never be nudists.
I've never questioned Rath being naked. I don't mind some aliens getting clothes and others staying naked like Upchuck had clothes in OS, but UAF took them away, and OV kept that decision, and I kinda prefer him without clothes but Rath is a example of Omniverse falling into the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" design pitfall. Alongside Swampfire, Chromastone, and Bigchill.
Agree because Humungasaur never had clothing in AF but now he wears shorts with a sash which is weird. Chromastone never wore clothes but has them in Omniverse for some reason. Not to mention Upchuck's species don't wear clothes so WTF

I never questioned it but Rath hanging dong all the time makes him infinitely more hilarious

I don't understand framing this as Omniverse trying to answer what the writers thought was a burning question. Part of the joke is that it's a surprise to Ben and the audience.
You're here too? I see you everywhere on r/Ben10 !!
exactly what I'm thinking, plus Rath having clothes answered the question as to how he magically summoned a phone in "Duped' in UA, OV fixed it by giving him clothes so now him using a phone would make sense
Well, since appolexians wear clothes, there's probably some that don't because they have fur and Rath wouldn't care if he wears clothes or not.
With how savage his species is, it's definitely a recent development born from recent galaxy level travel. Their clothes seem to be very simple and they're way too proud of having a sense of shame if it was something they always had
I don't think the "problem" of Rath being naked was one born out of necessity. It's just funny.
I seem to recall the an apaplexian reaction to Gravatack crashing in to the table by saying something like
See, even he agrees with is(and being ready for war)

Yeah he is naked too
I tink xlr8 use enough clothes
I'm pretty sure XLR8 is wearing a skin-tight outfit, kinda like a lot of atheltism clothes. His colors are different in OV and in Ben 10k bc it is an outfit
@@mertensiam3384 exactly
Honestly, I think its only complicated if you make it complicated in the sense of both the creators and the audience, as I honestly found it to be interesting to find out that Rath was buck naked the whole time. Not to mention that looking back now, Humungasaur was also technically speaking buck naked as well given that in Omniverse, Vaxasaurians also appear to be wearing clothes too.
I feel like if it were any other alien, there would be problems. But it being Rath specifically is what makes the joke work for me
The rath not having clothes moment questioning, reminds me of the watchtower, database video about trying to question power girls existence
I just assumed him getting clothes in that one episode was a result of the translation function sticking him in another language since we never see him in clothes before or after
Happy Sunday everyone!
nice clock placement btw
I think its just because they wanted the other appoplexians to have clothes, as it makes it easier to distinguish them, but then rath not wearing clothes would seem weird. They could either not acknowledge it or do what they did
Why they couldn't just say that they wear cloths for formal or important events and go natural the rest of the time is o mystery.

0:40 Upgrade and arguably Cannonbolt are literally wearing clothes here
I’m pretty sure you’re confusing clothes with just different colors of the aliens skin.
@@Bertiboy I think it is supposed to be clothing considering it's given to Ben because his shirt was black and white back then
Others might just be using clothing too
@@mertensiam3384 he’s obviously meant to be Ben’s colour scheme of green, black and white but that doesn’t mean he’s wearing clothes.
He isn't just famous on Earth but also in multiple galaxies.
wildmutt speices are sapient they wouldn't be in the omnitrix if it wasn't plus we see ben talk to some in classic.
@@lpfan4491it’s still so jarring to see wildmutt gruff and grunt and then have normal speech In the Ghostfreak nightmare.

I think they just wanted been there to make sure things stayed civil and in case things started to get out of hand, he could help diffuse the situation. Now they could have actually shown that because while they wrote the entire goddamn episode but I think that was the point of Ben being there.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHIN' INK TANK! I HAD MENTIONED THAT EPISODE BEFORE AND I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR DOING A BREAKDOWN OF IT!!! 🐯
I love it because i love when a show expands its lore and world in any way, Rath being naked all this time is genuinely funny and this works for a character like him, i dont see the problem really
1:27 maybe appoplexians aren't really around this quandrant of the universe so the people here dont know them and i mean unlike humans or any other species they have fur covering it all, nobody would assume he is supposed to wear clothes
0:42 a good chunk of those are either not very sentient(wildmutt) or are artificial or most likely lack genitals , like upgrade, ghostfreak, big chill(asexual birth), or plant like beings like swampfire and wildvine
Goop is a said to be single celled and humungasaur probably doesn't since albedo's actor friend also didn't, and echo echo and feedback are said to be living sound and electricity
1:04 those were jungle animals unlike appoplexians who are a whole sentient society
1:20 but why not
2:44 yeah that was unnecessary
2:55 ok but why is that a bad thing, that it raises questions and lets the fandom engage in them
3:09 i dont see why its necessary, unlike goop's anti gravity projector or brainstorm's breathing brace(apparently) ripjaws doesn't really need a breathing brace to survive , it would be helpful if he out in the sun or near high temperature areas but isn't really an immediate need
As far as I know rath's genetic donor was a nudist or the omnitrix's clothing feature suffers from ben's slapping of the omnitrix.
I swear I want to merry this background music 3:21, what's the name of it?
I think when it comes to Ralph’s species maybe they should’ve said that it’s a new trend for them to wear outfits or they only do it on special occasions. Either these reasons would make sense on why he isn’t wearing any outfit.
I know what you're on about Ink Kuro I know, Shear Khan from the animated and live Action Disney Jungle Book, Tigger from Winnie the Pooh Bear, Rath, Ben's naked aliens and Ben's clothed aliens. Lastly I've had the Frosted Flakes Cereal a few times at home I've seen it on supermarket shelves, in fact i have paid work currently as shelf filler irl in Sainsbury's Chertsey (Great Britain County Surrey Supermarkets). Or though i prefer the live action take on Disney's Jungle Book cuz the animals look so beautifully photo graphic and had such fascinating characteristics.
Truthfully, it should've been more obvious that all the Alien Force aliens were naked. I mean think about Four Arms, he only had briefs to hide his junk.
I genuinely dislike Fourarms UAF design just because it makes him look like a stripper to me it's so cursed.
i wouldnt say the show "fixed a problem they created" or whatever. i feel like, they just didnt want to make the whole species naked, and couldnt come up with good designs without clothing (good decision imo) and it would be weird if they just didnt address it.

Think azmuth would’ve said something when he turned into Rath
?
@@justyuriforever Azmuth used the Omnitrix to turn into Rath in Alien Force's Primus episode. If Rath wasn't meant to be naked he'd have noticed it.
On another note, I remember reading a statement saying that Albedo's too smart to be affected by Rath's character, but Azmuth was, so that's another weird thing
Title: Why was Rsth exposed?
Reason: Because in the episode, Blukic & Triba revealed that Appolexians don't wear clothes, that's why 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ben transforms into the peak of any alien race so probably something to do with primal urges and him getting in touch with his wild side .
Man, really wished this was a full breakdown
same, but we are about to get an arc centering around one of my personal favorites in the series, Albedo.
I like how the Rath rage isn’t limited to just the transformation but even individual apoplexians
Now that I think about it though, I think they did it in order to do that funny scene where Ben finds out that Appoplexians where clothes which when I watched it the first time, I thought it was funny.
If I had to guess they made the design for those two them someone questioned why they wear clothes so they end up saying rath was nude the whole time
Mhm now that i think about rath not wearing clothes was a trow away line so maybe after making design for cloth appoplexians they thought it would be weird to not explaining why rath dont have any
The reason could have been tweaked into something cultural.
For many of ben's aliens not having garb could be just the natural state of things, and aliens in undertown or on earth wear clothing because they adapt to the culture around them
RATH doesn’t wear clothes because RATH has no shame
I just thought it was because he was a giant tiger man, and didn't think about it.
Why?
true, just your typical OV hate, nothing more
2:35 even two galvans weren't aware Apploplexians wore clothes! 😅
I dig the idea of Ben using Gravvattack to be wise and patient like his people for the mission.
6:24 Now that is a truly hilarious edit right there.
What might have happened is someone made an adult drawing of Wrath and one of the writers saw it and course corrected
Ngl the best part in the episode is the humour in Rath's final fight!
Breakdowns are baaaack! (At least Quick Reviews, for the moment)
The Lewodans were a monarchy in Con of Rath, but in this episode, they're a Republic.
I think thst IT may be *ONE thing* He won't "tell you about"....
I think the smore thing was more a smack talk threat instead of just planning on actually eating them
