The width of the small width is 1/12 and height too that cutted by 2 so its a square so it will be 1/12

in the end, after the last step, you obtain the area of the new square formed, coming out to be approx 2.0045. you need to take square root of this number in order to obtain the value as approximately root 2. Apart from this correction, the video was very informative and helpful.
