Please before careful using the word migrant you will called a racist. I just got off a telephone call with the property manager regarding a letter I wrote voicing my concerns about the new tenants who are filthy. They are loitering in the stairs and lobby, drinking beer, smoking weed, leaving trash everywhere except in the trash. Climbing in out the windows with groceries and pans of food instead of using the front door. I asked if they were migrants and was accused of sounding racist. Do the behavior sound familiar. It's very sad when I question turns into racism. I live in Maryland.

@@Imissyoulou I lived in Chicago for 40 years til I moved to Kentucky(much cheaper). I observed Daley's crazy cuts and spendings during the late 80's and 90's. The final straw to me was all that money that he used just to get the Olympics to the city. Chicago was the first city eliminated. They gave it to Rio(bad mistake), but we were furious at Daley. Did I vote for him? No.

I grew up and lived many years in a socialist country, and the government put us first always before anyone else, and they gave to us (cheap abundant food, housing, educating everyone very well from villagers to city dwellers) as we gave to them (running the country as self-managed workers)

im so sad to see this. I live in Florida but NBC Chicago was recommended by youtube and i’m watching the migrant crisis and really feel for Chicago citizens. I will say that NBC Chicago and national news on the matter make it sound like the homeless in Chicago all have a bed, as if the city never denies anyone a bed. It didn’t sound right to me because back in 2015 I went to Chicago and saw many who were homeless.

The only type of Beds that many homeless people had was a pallet inside of a vacant building and the city of Chicago has boarded mostly all of them up !
The City could at least provide weatherized Heated Tents for the Homeless during the Winter exactly like they're doing for these migrants or allow them to be sheltered together with the migrants !
