This is why it makes me upset when people treat animals poorly as if they are objects that don't have emotions. Whether their feelings are as complex as ours or not is irrelevant, these reunions are heart warming.

I cried so hard while watching this! Whoever says animals don't feel is crazy! They are God's creatures just like us and should be treated with the same amount of kindness and compassion as us. It also reminded me of a long-forgotten memory.
Once when I was around 13-14 my cat was taken by the local animal catcher (as a supposed stray cat) and then left at the local animal shelter (a kill shelter) at the behest of our mean neighbors. Someone adopted her right away. We went to the shelter to look for her and the people that worked there told my mother and I who adopted her and where they lived. We arrived at their house in another town several miles away after a long drive. It was evening, and already after dark. We talked to the adopters and they told us our cat had run away the day before. So we asked permission to search their property for her, which was substantial since they lived on a farm. We both called and called for at least an hour. Then I started hearing a faint meow. I kept calling and lo and behold, here she comes straight to me! She was SO HAPPY to see us! She looked so worried on the way back home, like she was gonna lose us again. Her eyes looked like human eyes when they haven't slept for days. Needless to say, we kept a close eye on her after that, and in essence, she became an indoor cat. Those neighbors never got another chance to hurt her!
Praise the Lord these animals found their people!

When I returned after the Vietnam War, my #1 priority was reuniting with my dog.
Upon seeing him again, he didn't seem to care treating me like a stranger. I was pretty shocked / upset. My best friend just turned around & went back outside.
About 5-10 minutes later he apparently remembered & crashed through the patio door sending pieces of glass everywhere! He went absolutely nuts! Far beyond anything I had expected.
We were together again 24/7 for many years after until he finally passed comfortably in my arms.

Animals have intelligence and because they live with humans, they have been raised in a humanely atmosphere, where they copy human beings behaviour and attitudes and become more civilised and domesticated....but in the wild they need to follow their instincts to survive....
But if a human being shows violence to an animal they raise, there is a possibility that the animal will be violent too...not all but some of them can...I have seen a person raising a lion cub and the man was always aggressive to that poor baby lion and when it grew up to becoming a big adult lion, the lion struck that man and buried its canines into the man's neck and killed him on the spot...
And not only this....but the lion was too aggressive that nobody was able to neither get near nor touch it...

After hurricane Katrina, I kept a dog for a year as a foster for the owners. When they came to get her, she was in the back of the house but when she heard their voices she began barking and running through the house, jumped on the sofa, ran across the top of the sofa and leapt into his arms. This dog was a Cocker Spaniel. It was an amazing reunion.

I used to ride a horse for a friend, his name was Starsky. I rode him and groomed him nearly every day. She decided to sell him to a good home (she did have a lot of horses). About six months later the new owners invited her and myself to see how well Starsky was doing. When we arrived at the field he was right over the other side. The new owners called his name, but he completely ignored them. I asked if I could try, and they agreed. I shouted ‘Starsky!!’ He lifted his head up and looked in our direction, so I shouted his name again. Then he threw his head in the air, and came galloping across the field whinnying like mad! It was like a scene from Black Beauty! I believe animals really do remember people.

I lost one of my kittens where I currently live. A momma cat had five kittens with her and started to live under our trailer. Two were orange tabbies (Apollo & daisy) two had dark fur with brown and orange spots (gorgeous babies named Zelda and Delta), and one gray. (Ash) I kept all of them. But at first when we first found them, shortly after, Delta got ran over. I hadn’t named him yet. Now he is buried in my back yard. Afterwards I was left with the other four. Unfortunately, at the time I was still trying to convince my mom to keep them so they stayed outside most of the time. One night throughout the time I went to feed them and came back in to do things Zelda disappeared. We are almost certain that someone had their eyes on her because she was a calico and stole her. I really miss her, mostly since at the time the other ones would shy away from me but she was the only one that trusted me and the on I was able to interact with the most. Sometimes I still call out to her. I fear the possible day we move because I will be leaving two little souls behind.😣

I had a mutt when I was a kid. That was the most affectionate dog I’d ever seen. When we’d go on vacation, he ran loose in the neighborhood and a neighbor would feed him. Yeah, in the 70’s you could let your dog run free and nobody called animal control. But when we’d return home a week later, you would think we had been gone months. He would start crying, loudly, and wouldn’t stop for about 30 minutes. Animals have feelings and they are very smart and loving too. Be kind to animals.

We rescued a goat that was not suitable for a milking heard and was going to be culled. She was 8 days old when we got her. When she was weaning, she ate something bad and got very very sick. She was so close to death, the vet thought we were mad trying to save her, but we didn’t stop. She got blind, and has seizures. We bought her inside and force fed her, she lived in our lounge in a special pen for a week, there was poo everywhere. I set an alarm to check her through the night, it was touch and go there for a while, very little movement, very weak. Lots of love and cuddles, and little by little we could sense her getting stronger. She definitely liked cuddles at this time, and would happily curl up on my lap as I watched tv. And, well, she lived. It took about a month to fully recover, and then when she eventually got to go outside, every night for about a year we went outside and I sat in her paddock and she would curl up on my lap for cuddles.
When I leave home for work, she watches me at the gate until she can’t see me. Every night when I come home from work, she goes nuts. Running around the paddock leaping and kicking and prancing, then comes up for a hug. She is fully grown now, and even still, if I sit down, she tries to sit on my lap for a cuddle, but she is too big. If she hears me call her name, she answers back, she knows her name.
I would hate to imagine her if I went away for a few weeks.

True love and care are the healing agents common to all beings on this earth, and the animals are SO defenceless and need our help.. Please give them what they need wherever you can as so many humans, to my amazement, appear to have no compassion at all. God gave us the animals to give us much-needed blessings, and they've more than done their duty - how about us?

when I was a child, we lived in Ethiopia in the Italian embassy and our neighbors got a new puppy and immediately went on a two month home vacation to Italy where we took care of the puppy. The next three years, that dog jumped a two meter high fence every evening to sleep on our veranda, and spent almost all day every day with us. Then our time in the embassy was up and we moved back to Italy without our faithful dog because our neighbors technically owned him.
Eight years later, they had left Ethiopia with their dog and were living a couple hours away from us in italy, and we drove there, and the reunion is something I will never forget as long as I live.
Our sweet dog, Buna, stood frozen and immobile for a couple of seconds and then he was beyond himself, crying and dancing and being all over us. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced and heartbreaking at the same time.
He had good owners, he loved them, but to us and I really think to him, too, during those first years, he was our dog. It was terrible to leave him behind and it was the most emotional and beautiful thing I've ever experienced to be reunited after so many long years.
We were young children when we left him behind, and teens when we saw him again.

My hamster used to break out of her cage every night and jump off the stand either into the cage with the gerbil and I'd wake up to them fighting 4am or she'd go missing. She went missing for two days the first time, came back in while I was in mid conversation with my company and stood on two feet and walked to me. The second time she went missing I found her in my knee high boot. She was always calm and cool as a cucumber and went back to her cage without any issues. One day I woke up and she was gone I looked in the gerbils cage and he rand to a lump spot then back to the corner which he usually bounces around. I looked under the lump and there she was with her eyes open. I will never forget her because it was like having a wild child, she was calm, she let me feed her water like a baby, she was so humble and sweet but every night she's break out and go missing until she felt like popping up, I woke up so many nights to her drama of falling into the gerbils cage. I miss her. She was so human. I never had another hamster that seems so human so I don't even try to find one like her anymore.

This is beautiful. About 15 years ago, I was fighting cancer. It got so bad that I had to move from NJ to Houston and receive advanced chemotherapy at MD Anderson. My father stayed behind to take care of the house and our dogs (he came to out to visit on weekends). I missed my doggos so much, particularly my one dog Sam whom we had since I was 14. After a month in Houston we realized that we would be there indefinitely. My father brought the dogs back at one point but I couldn't see them because I was in the hospital with pneumonia and couldn't leave the hospital for 4 weeks. It was touch and go and I very nearly died. Slowly I recovered and eventually I got discharged. I was beyond excited to get back to the hotel and see my dogs after two months of being away from them. Let's just say the reunion was one of indescribable joy. I'll never forget walking through the door and how they charged me. I lost it.

My son adopted a dog when he was stationed in DC, while he was in the Ceremonial Guard. When he got transferred to California, he was unable to take him, so we did. He came to visit a few months later, and the dog was a little iffy at first then was all over him like a maniac. He came to visit again over the summer, before he had to go to Washington, and he hadn't been home in about 2 years. I wasn't sure how Major would react. But he knew him immediately and was crying like a baby when he saw Anthony. Brought me to tears. It was such an amazing thing to see. They remember. ❤

When I was in 2nd grade, my cat was my best friend. She'd follow me everywhere, wait for me at the door to come home from school, and would howl when there was a door in between us. One day, someone in my family let her out and she got lost (she was an indoor cat). I cried my heart out for 3 days straight. A tear was never NOT rolling down my cheek. Then, on the third day of her missing, I heard my dogs barking at something in our yard. I went out to see, and my kitty was there, just coming out from under then shed, and ran to me. When I tell you I have never felt more emotional in my life.... sadly she passed from cancer at only 5. We think she developed it from eating meow mix. She will never leave my heart. I love you forever, Chloe.

My cat died from tainted Fancy Feast. The cans were contaminated at a plant in China, but Purina (owners of FF) failed to announce the issue or pull the food from the shelves until a court ordered them to 8 months after discovering it. By then, all of us who had fed our cats the tainted food lost our pets to kidney disease and cancer caused by it. And by that time, we didn't have the proof required to show it was from those tainted cans. I will never buy any Purina products to this day because I can't go through that heartbreak again. Pets dying is just nature. This wasn't natural and the suffering she went through that could have been avoided made it worse.

Remember to look at ingredients.

@@ladylily my 3 older cats died of Fancy Feast as well. I don’t think they could smell as good because my two younger cats would refuse to eat it all together. That is how I figured out it was the Fancy Feast. Because I started feeding the other cats Sheba or fresh tuna fish. I was going to see about getting a lawsuit or see if others wanted to file a class action but didn’t have the money trying to put two kids through college. My cats were 15, 16 and 26 so it really was traumatic. The 16 and 26 year old died within a month of each other. Kidney disease and liver cancer. Such a shame. Yet Fancy Feast has never been held accountable.

This reminds me of a story from here in Germany that happened a few years ago.
A young man had a little black cat that disappeared one day. At some point, the young man had accepted never seeing his little friend again and moved away from his old neighborhood. He got married, had a family, new cats and the years went by until about 2 years ago he suddenly got a call at work that his missing four-legged friend had been found. The man called his wife at home, because he didn't know yet that his cat was missing, but it turned out that his cats were all at home. Confused, he drove to the animal shelter, where he was shown an old black tomcat. It took the man a moment to realize that this old black cat, was his cat that he had thought was dead for the last nineteen (yes, 19) years.
I don't know if the old cat is alive today, but I'm sure he had a few more wonderful years together with his old owner. It's just a pity that we can't talk to the animals, because this cat would certainly have a lot to tell.
In this sense, dear greetings from Germany to all animal friends in the world.

Camels never forget anything. If you mistreat them they can kill you.

Animals are so unpretentious and pure. Why we, human beings, get to have them in our lives I will never understand but I will always be grateful.

Why in the hell did it take 3 years for a veteran to get his dog? Come on, we need to do better!

It's because the dogs belong to the military not the buddy that they are trained with. And they believe in the PTSD that the dogs could end up having as well, so they really don't release them back into the community. It is heartbreaking to know that these dogs served America like they did only to go to a shelter and live out their life as if they didn't exist or have a relationship with these people. Imagine how the veterans feel too, that they might function better with them in the community is. There should be done more about it.

Yeah, it's ridiculous ! there should be some type of privilege when it comes to dogs in the military. They served our country too!

well, that was actually kind of dumb of me to say, because I'm sure its the other countries that make it difficult.

Camels are incredibly emotional and have a strong memory. My grandfather had a farm and owned a group of camels and took care of them, spent most of his time with them and got attached to them. But when he passed away bc of a car accident (may god have mercy on him) and he never came back. After a while my aunts(his daughters)decided to visit the farm. And once the camels met my aunts they all started crying like they knew what happened to him and that they lost their beloved human. This story happened a long time ago but still surprises me till this day. Also, what do those cats eat 3:50 cause mine doesn’t even bother.

The animals have real feelings, and many humans hurt them a lot. God bless those who take care of them💜
