😢 i can hear my late Father playing this and choir singing. I'm 49 and as a kid, I'd hear them practicing this and our director would push the choir to life on that "these are they who wash their robes". Wow! Classic.
Mother Mattie was a beautiful woman. Recall being in a rehearsal or two and she had Twinkie with her. The most intense practice I ever witnessed. Growing up COGIC was a blessing I never realized until an adult.
Praise God, for this Anointed song 'These are They' thank you Lord for Jesus. There's nothing like the old fashioned gospel music that touches the soul and spirit. RIP Dr. Mattie Moss Clark
Honey they don’t write sins strong hold breakers like this no mo… I love Kirk, but baby you had to be born under this anointing to get it but definitely to give it!!! A lil corner church is where you had to get this from just a B3 and a drummer. 3 sopranos, 4 1/2 altos (gotta include sis/bro Elkie with pink pocket square), and 4 tenors. Praise God
Bryun Gray But we're not going to downplay Carolyn who did her thing. I was at the recording. I remember Twinkie directing her with her head and eyes from the organ. (A song that Twinkie could have clearly led if she so chose. A song in her vain). If you listen to the intonality of the melody, was a Twinkie led song all day long. However, she chose to pass it on to Carolyn. Douglas Miller, who was a co-producer with Mattie on the album, if memory serves me correctly, was added on as a vocalist, post production.
