Ike is definitely the best voice for Kahn since Steve Ritchie. No one will ever top Steve but, Ike is awesome. I hated his MK9 voice but, that's just me. I'm sure lots of people liked it.

I really can't decide between Steve Richie and Ike Amadi. Both provide that kind of confident, above-everyone authority in their voice that really fits Shao Kahn, but while Ike's is more upfront about the brutality Shao Kahn revels in, Steve's is a bit more subdued about it. Both equally great in my opinion.
Usually I prefer the modern voice actors because they’re always so much better. But I can’t this time, Steve Ritchie is just phenomenal; he is the real Shao Kahn. Period. Nobody can ever do a better Shao Kahn than Steve.
MK II and III hands down... when you play the game with surround system... the voice just reverberates throughout the house and it’s just so classic...
Steve Richie and Bob Carter are the best Shoa Kahn voice actors ever. There was this feeling that while these two shoa khans were kicking my bottom and swiping the floor with it. It felt only fair to just get angry at how much he spams the rising air attack but his voice and how he insults you when you lose. That’s when you can get angry but how performs. It was magnificent tbh.

Steve Richie's rolled R's are extremely powerful but nostalgia aside, Ike Amadi is everything I wanted in a Shao Kahn voice but hadn't got until him. That said I would watch an animated MK movie with Welker's take on it.
Steve Ritchie is a classic pick. For nostalgia, he is the best Shao Kahn, but I think for the more intimidating, tyrannical sound, Ike Amadi did a better job at that.
Jeff Meek will always be my favorite Shao Kahn. I do have to say though, that I feel like Ike Amadi captured a lot of similar tones and nuances. Major Kudos to him. I did love Steve Richie as Shao Kahn in MK2 and 3, his announcer voice was epic, and Shao Kahn's ad libs were great, but in Shaolin Monks, not so much. I didn't even realize that it was him, but he certainly didn't capture that same darkness that he did in the 90s games.

A man undefeated on the battlefield that lives only for war. You will follow him or he will come for you once the killing ends. Ike is what the young ruthless Shao is to Steve's triumphant Khan. Together, they are perfect. Two halves of the same coin.
I'm a man who loves when words are churned. Think Vader. ("you are not a jedi yeeeeet" "the powaaah of the dark side") Or Moira if you know overwatch. Ike is good, he's right there but he needs to churn a bit more for me to get there.
The problem with the new voices is none of them were directed to match the original at all. I didn't even realize it was the same voice actor for MKSM when I played it because they sound like two different characters. After Armageddon every performance was directed as an low-tone barbarian. The original has a slight accent (Ritchie said he gave him one intentionally) rolls his 'R's and has a slight snarl which is why his "Round" sounds so good, as well as having an echo.
Steve Ritchie can't even get in comparison. He is a legend. Besides that Ike Amandi is my favorite by far! His voice makes Shao Kahn even more terrifying than he already is. Great casting! MK11 is a flawless game from every perspective imo!

His voice Oozes: Power, Authority, intimidation, and regalness of a millennia old evil Emperor that's become the stuff of nightmares across the realms. But he comes across as subdued in his demeanor yet very sinister... Like, You don't want this guy to get off his throne........ He came across like the Godfather. The Modern Kahn is your typical monsterous, Loud, arrogant, brutal warlord and his looks as well as Ikes voice fits that perfectly. Problem is, these days Shao Kahn has become a joke.... Like Semi-Perfect Cell. Lol Back in MK2 and mk3 of the Midway era, you FEARED facing the final boss and for good reason... After that "YOU WILL DIE MORTAL" you knew it was over with!! And his broken ass proceeded to break YO ass! These days, Kahn isnt really that intimidating Boss anymore. Especially when everyone is just beating him. And he's pretty much everywhere in the story. Like what happened to your minions doing that work?? Real bosses stay in the background and that's what Midway era Kahn did. You didn't see him till it was time to face him... But you heard his sinister voice!! And Steve personified that type of Kahn in his voice and that's why to ME, he's the BEST and Perfect for that Classic Midway look and era of Shao Kahn... I wish they wouldn't have stayed from that concept. Steve came back for Shaolin monks and I thought he did a wonderful job. But it was a seasoned and older classic Kahn voice he did. Still Great! And he was in his classic MK2 costume. I thought MK9 was the closest to resurrecting that era of Khan. But his voice wasnt all that to me. Now he's a big dumb arrogant Brute who gets beat by his step daughter...... His look and voice fits down to a T!
I like Amandi, but it's kind upsetting that there's like absolutely no love for Bob Carter in the comments. He's certainly a runner up for Amandi, if not better. I like him more personally. Other than that the other other VA that comes close to the two imo is Richtie, although he's way better as a campy Shao Kahn, I can only really take Carter and Amandi seriously

These days, Kahn isnt really that intimidating Boss anymore. Especially when everyone is just beating him. And he's pretty much everywhere in the story. Like what happened to your minions doing that work??
Real bosses stay in the background and that's what Midway era Kahn did. You didn't see him till it was time to face him... But you heard his sinister voice!!
And Steve personified that type of Kahn in his voice and that's why to ME, he's the BEST and Perfect for that Classic Midway look and era of Shao Kahn...
I wish they wouldn't have stayed from that concept.
Steve came back for Shaolin monks and I thought he did a wonderful job. But it was a seasoned and older classic Kahn voice he did. Still Great! And he was in his classic MK2 costume.
I thought MK9 was the closest to resurrecting that era of Khan. But his voice wasnt all that to me.
Now he's a big dumb arrogant Brute who gets beat by his step daughter...... His look and voice fits down to a T!
Steve Richie. That laugh. MK2 gave me chills back in the day.
Steve is great but the new guy, Ike, sounds like the perfect Shao Kahn. He really nails the aggressive and guttural sound.

His voice is quite similar to Steve Ritchie.
Steve Richie in mk2 and 3 is by far the best but in an extended role where there's a lot of dialogue Ike Amadi is better.

He may not have the pass to evade worlds but he has the next big thing.
I like Amandi, but it's kind upsetting that there's like absolutely no love for Bob Carter in the comments. He's certainly a runner up for Amandi, if not better. I like him more personally. Other than that the other other VA that comes close to the two imo is Richtie, although he's way better as a campy Shao Kahn, I can only really take Carter and Amandi seriously

I can't decide between Ritchie and Amadi... I think Ritchie wins just because of nostalgia and because he was the one who gave voice to Shao Kahn in his golden age
