Blame our drug problem on China is just shifting responsibility in a cowardly way. Need to address the reason why there is this insatiable demand of drug use here first. Blaming China for all our problems does not solve them.

By the way if China is just a problem of producing the ingredient for pharmacy use and that causes drug problem in the USA. With that logic China should have more drug problems than the USA since it's at home turf but the irony is there's no "drug problem" there. This is simply US blame game and incompetency of first taking of that issue and second its people welll being just look at the major cities of the USA you see homeless everywhere. By the way they should blame that on China too LOL

Xi´s speech is so much more powerful and higher class in tone, whereas Ramondo's was petty and reluctant. It's smart for China to invite 50,000 young people to visit China and join their study exchange program. I hope that the exchange program will provide a great channel for the Americans to see what the real China is like.

I agree with Burns that we don’t have the people to people contact at the official level. But did he explain what caused that? Is it because of the tiredness meddling in China’s internal affairs (ie paying people to riots is Hong Kong and Xin Jiang and many more) and telling lies about them? Is it because of the endless list of trading constraint in the name of national security? Or is it because of trying to kill Haiwei, a mere phone company, to promote unfair competition just like what they did to Toshiba? Please Mr. Burns, answer that!

it's all good to engage and connect, but the US must take responsibilities for its own governance. China doesn't make Fentanyl for exportation to the US, the US gov in escaping its own responsibilities, constantly blame it on China. Now US gov is again playing the game as if China is responsible for the drug abuse in the United States.
China doesn't have a drug abuse problem, most Chinese never heard of Fentanyl. China exports a legal chemical used as precursor in producing a legal painkiller to verified buyers.
The US must take responsibilities to deal with 1. its border; 2. drug smuggling; 3. illegal prescriptions; 4. drug abuse; 5 rehabilitation of your own ppl.
Even if China, out of good heart, help the US in banning export of the legal precursor, those can be bought from other countries, the US has the same problems.
Pointing fingers and political posturing can't help your country and ppl. No amount of pretending, finger pointing, blaming or shirking responsibilities can help your ppl.
When political elites have no vision for your country and people, both parties bash CN in unison, hoping to gain votes. That's the doom of the US, which used to be a great country 30 years ago.
Shirking responsibilities instead of actually working out a solution is the demise of your great country.

Trump has said that China’s anti-drug efforts are stronger than those of the United States. Why do American politicians attribute the U.S. drug problem to China? There is no legal liability for drug trafficking and drug abuse in the United States, but in China, drug trafficking of more than 50 grams will result in the death penalty, and those with a history of drug abuse will be sent to compulsory drug rehabilitation. Such harsh laws can indeed solve the drug problem, and sometimes strict laws can protect the human rights of most people.

America is in distress and economic devline mainly because of its trade war snd anti-China policies against China. Moreover, the US proxy war in Ukraine snd the chaotic political situation at home sre draining its resources and impoverish the already debt-,ridden vcountry. This is the real reason why America is desperately seeking to nend the bad relationship with China. Hence, we saw the infkux of US leaders duch as Kissinger, Blinken, Sullivan etc coming to pay homage to President Xi Jinping, the beloved & great keader of China. Finally, the US is fearful and jealous of the rock-solud relationship of President Putin and President Xi, the great leaders of the two superpowers of the world! It's high time that China and Russia set up a New Order for a eorld of peace, prosperity and eternal happiness for all human kind. on earth. The US has dedtroyed itself by its own foolish and arrogant leaders like Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Long Live China!

China has a saying: 听其言 观其行 (Listen to what you say and watch what you do) So if you say you want to have good relations with China, but at the same time you interfere in China's Taiwan affairs, instigate HK protests ,& riots , send warships to S China Sea and form anti-China groups like AUKUS etc as well as the imposition of trade tariffs to cause trouble to China. How can you expect China to co-operate with you or improve relations? The US must understand and accept the fact that China under President Xi Jinping has achieved the greatest success in every field of human endeavour! And the Chinese people are the safest and most contented people in the world today! Any honest observer would tell you that China is a better and greater country than America today!

Very hard to listen to American politicians. American politics is base on manipulation of public opinions under the guise of free speech and opinions! It's grandiose on the surface! The problems the Western nations (I'm U S citizen) politics is its not fact base, it's base on stoking public opinion by means of exaggerations, planting false stories/narrative or out right lies (WMDs, anyone) and public will buy into it! That's why I'm not waving American flags to support my government sending 150 billions/10 billions to Ukraine/ Isreal, how many US citizens questions How Ukraine or Hamas or China behaviors came about? NATO expansion to Russia border where NATO can setup missiles system to strike Moscow in 5 minutes ( BTW we lie to Gorbachev if he didn't opposed to German unification NATO will not expand an inch to the West )! Same as in trying to setup missiles system in South Korea against China constant playing up China threats! As a Chinese diaspora who never step foot in China, I do understand China aspersions to become powerful nation given its history in 18/19 centuries of subjugation by Imperial powers and say never again! If you're Taiwanese or Hong Kongnese you're the products of British and US subjugation in History! You can buy into the West manipulations or determine your own destiny ( a la amount of autonomy or self determination or term to deal with China, but be very skeptical of my government true motives given its 200 years of interventions in the world )! I came to realized our government talk the talk but not the walk! Regardless of politics, just use the climate change issue, Trump pull out Paris climate accord while China is mess adopting Electric vehicles! Since 2008 US been in slow decay (just type in LA homelessness or Kensington Ave, Philadelphia) you'll understand where my view of my government doesn't care about ordinary citizens but cooperations and elites!
