It's a show about black issues, like the R. Kelly episode. People loved R. Kelly back in those days like how white people tried to excuse Elvis for what he did, until they couldn't no more. You gotta watch the show to get it.
So for context the creator of the show is a huge fan of anime. His favorite shows afro samurai, samurai champloo, and Naruto are all referenced in some way in the series.
In Japan this would actually be considered anime lol its only the west that makes a distinction, the word anime is also a borrowed term from the French
@@gabrielesolletico6542 Yes anime is the word animation but shortened, it specifically has a French origin which most people don’t realise. The word animé in French means to be expressive or animated. Their term for cartoons is “dessin animé”. This is why I believe the ongoing debate that something can’t be anime due to being produced outside Japan is dumb because they didn’t even come up with the term.
@@gabrielesolletico6542If you want to go even further back you get the Latin word anima (pronounced with long A) which is the word for breath or soul.

Yes I do in a lot of people probably wasn't aware of this but the girl in the background that you see with the red hair in the grocery store has a strong resemblance to the one female character from Star Ocean till the end of time for the PlayStation 2 her name was nel zelpher
The first scene is a parody of a real event that played out pretty much the same, the kid always said the word but when the teacher just blurted it out without thinking he and his mom made a huge stink about it looking to squeeze a payday out of him and the school.
So the segment with Chris Hansen is based around an actual guy called Fleece Johnson who at the time of the episode's release, and quite possibly might still be there; was serving time at the Kentucky State Penitentiary, where he became notorious for his appearance on MSNBC's Lock Up, where they went inside of America's notorious correctional facilities; Fleece said that in prison, having your way with a man's ass was more important that drinking water, food, even more important than breathing air. Because of the notoriety he got in that episode, he was spoofed in the Boondocks episode 'A Date with the Booty Warrior' that he appeared in, acting much like his real-life counterpart. Boondocks truly was ahead of its time for adapting anything to work into it's narrative.
The teacher in the first clip who's going on the rant and is in trouble for saying the N word, was directly inspired by a real teacher in Philly. After getting in trouble for saying the N word instead of doing the usual apologize profusely and hope for the best he doubled down and argued that since they say it he doesn't see what the big deal is. A few of the teachers lines are taken directly from what he really said. Not sure what became of that guy but I think his teaching career is permanently over after getting national attention. As a white guy I kinda get him though the nuance between Nigga, and N***** who can say what, when. Yeah that was totally lost on him.

That's kinda painting a bad picture for Black people, imagine a show about white people who act distinguished, and say mostly White people can understand it. It's kinda true, but also a bit racist.
@@wakfuglazer it really is. People around me keep on constantly telling me to watch Frasier. I'll tell you the truth, I tried I really did try to watch it but I couldn't. for the people saying boondocks is not an anime because it is american made you need to understand the definition of an anime its a word describing style and does not have to be created in japan its an abbreviation of the word animation not a way to gatekeep
Wrong. "Anime" is just a word borrow by the Japanese language from the English language; it's the short form for "ANIMATION". In Japan, they calls "Anime" EVERY form of animation: even Disney's movies are "ANIME" in Japan. Let's just stop with this western bullshit of "Anime is a word that described something culturally or artistically related to the Eastern World..." that's bullshit! That's Western World overthinking, and fullfilling with some deep meaning a Japanese word that simply means ANIMATION!!
that is legit what i said gabe i said its an abbreviation and is only in refrence to the style that is animation, no need to yell and throw a tantrum my friend
