People respect you more if you dress well, and you may or may not need (but not necessarily want) people's respect or even the respect of yourself. I mean and extreme example is you can wear trash bags anywhere, because clothes don't matter but it's just impractical for hundreds of reasons. Kanye wants to be listened to, understood, not mocked by the media, get his point across but decided to dress like a homeless man. That doesn't seem very wise.

You know you've crossed into a weird timeline when Ye is on Lex Fridman.
Yet it actually shows that West can have regular conversation as long as other side is able to have it too. Large portion of western world is no longer able to have real conversation as we used to have decades ago.
Both of them made good and bad arguments. Both understood other in some points and misunderstood in others. Both did learn something from it.

Your take is not inaccurate but me having listened to Lex for years now, I can tell you his pushing back on Kanye’s narrative comes from his deep understanding of WWII and Jewish history, specially the holocaust. He tends to be very open minded, to a fault. For him to offer this very unusual pushback has to be very certain of the falsity and consequences of such narrative.

I respectfully disagree. I thought the conversation was great. Ye West has had a spiritual awaking and learned some truths, but he will most likely not be so careless with his words with the media, as some people cannot decipher his metaphors. Ye learned, Lex learned, and those with an open mind (or those who have experienced a true awaking) will also learn. These conversations have to be had for us all to grow.
