Even with the lack of pipes and flute, it hasn't absolutely nothing to envy to Bothy Band.
Really good work, man. The bass really adds a "thing" to the whole.
    Cheers

In other lands away across the seas , those musicians would have come from the poshest and expensive musical Conservatoires, Colleges & Universities. In Ireland, people are born with music, song, dance and storytelling, poetry in their body, in the mind, in their soul. It is a natural thing, When I grow a little older and able to get a job and earn some money I am going to by me a Knee Fiddle some call this instrument a viololyra I am very happy to see our Celtic cousin, John Lennon of the fab 4 tapping away on the big old bass

Hallo Marie. This instrument is called viololyra and it is a combination of cretan lyra, medieval vielle and violin. It was manufactured by Ralf Eickmeier, who lives in Thessaloniki.

what is the name of the fiddle like instrument? My father( from Sligo) played the fiddle, by ear, of course and it is fascinating to see our music being played with this instrument.
His favourites were Saddle the Pony and Kid on the mountain and I would so love to hear you play these tunes.
