    I love shopping second hand! I also feel I’m getting better quality items as things are made so cheaply now days. Thred up is nice but a little overwhelming so I would enjoy a video on that. My favorite is going to Goodwill with my mom on senior day- I find the best stuff.

      I feel you! It’s so disappointing but finding cool stuff secondhand makes up for it. I’d be more than happy to (and excited) to do a shopping on ThredUP video. I love thrifting with my mom too. 💕

    Brianna, Thanks for another interesting video! FYI, if you log into your Thredup account, and pull up your Orders, you should be able to see the discount and the price you actually paid for each item.

      Thank you so much for watching and commenting Morena! I did try logging into my account to see those receipts. But the numbers didn’t seem accurate to me for some reason. Thanks for looking out for me though!

    My father was Norwegian and I have family in Sweden so second-hand shopping for me is almost as natural as breathing, it's something I've been doing all my life. In Spain, on the other hand, it is not so widespread, but I think it is growing. I usually buy higher ranges and look a lot at the fabrics when I buy second-hand or vintage, in addition to the condition of the garment. Those little details are the difference between a successful purchase that can be in your closet all your life and a purchase that follows the fate of fast fashion: the garbage. For sweaters and cardigans I also recommend looking at the handmade, you will find authentic jewels with a very high quality. I never advise buying second-hand fast fashion, they are garments made not to last, so the result is very bad. And do not be guided by low prices, before buying always think about how to combine them and make at least 3 different outfits, but that they are really different not only with one type of garment in your wardrobe. Of course, I usually make two or three purchases in my favorite stores during discount times (be it clothes, replace a shoe or accessory, basics, interiors or makeup), I do that because we all like to feel the shopping experience of certain brands so you can have it but just what is necessary and without burning the planet (and by the way that those purchases are from better brands that you enjoy more). I don't know if it will help but to summarize: think about your purchases, don't go only for low prices, don't turn second-hand into another fast fashion, don't buy second-hand fast fashion. Check fabrics, seams and condition of the garment well. Do not rule out vintage and handmade. Do not deny yourself since you save and do things well some good quality whim and that makes you truly excited.
    My favorite purchases? Some lovely rouje garments and Sezane. From Sonia Rykiel, Caroll, Vintage, Sandro... The one I thought was the prettiest, a cardigan handmade by a French grandmother, that gives it a special touch because it is a beloved garment

      So many amazing tips right here! especially the tip about not letting secondhand fashion become another version of fast fashion. Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us. Love it! And all of your second hand finds sound so wonderful. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom. 😘😘😘

      @@BriLamberson Well, even so, I forgot one: pay attention to the construction details of the garment (some buttons, folds, sleeves...) because they make the garment special and you will see it special for longer, that is something that you do a lot and I loves. Thank you very much for your kind words Brianna

      @@BriLamberson That sounds like too much fun! I think I would need your keen eye. I was a bit intimidated by the thrift stores I encountered - all "kilo" stores where you buy by the pound! I think there was some serious sifting involved!!!

    You mentioned being able to return items from Threadup, which differs from Poshmark. I just looked at Threadup's policy and it gives a time limit, but does the purchaser pay shipping to both receive and return the item?

    • @BriLamberson
      @BriLamberson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes unfortunately! The only difference is that if thread up improperly described an item you can send it back without a fee. That is the sucky part but at the very least you can return it unlike Poshmark.

    I buy at least half of my clothes and accessories second hand- both online and in physical stores. I'm currently living in the Netherlands and highly recommend Sellpy for northern European shoppers. It's a lot like ThredUp but is much better at taking and marketing your pieces so it's very circular. When visiting the US, I use ThredUp (to buy) and The RealReal (to buy and sell). Frame is a great brand that fits me well and prices are better on ThredUp than The RealReal for this brand.

      Same here! And that is such a good tip. I’ve never heard of that company before. I do love that you can find some amazing deals on thredUP. The prices are just so good.

    Love second hand shopping. That's how I mostly shop but I don't care for Thredup. I used to use it when it first started. It was amazing. A box of used clothes for$20 and you had to ship boxes as well to be able to buy more. It was a great program and now it's sky rocketed and they don't give you much money at all for your used clothes. I have them beautiful brand new RalphLauren and they didn't take many, gave me very little and just took the rest. Never again.

      Oh I perfer Poshmark!

    • @BriLamberson
      @BriLamberson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally know exactly what you mean! They are really sucky for selling clothes. But if you want a good deal on some designer items they are great. So it’s kind of a catch 22. I also find that their descriptions and measurements can be wildly off and I really do dislike that you have to pay for return shipping and restocking fee.

    • @BriLamberson
      @BriLamberson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Poshmark is amazing! I love it equally. I just don’t like that you can’t return things. That’s the one downside.

    Your second-hand items seem really expensive to me

    • @BriLamberson
      @BriLamberson  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it all depends on your budget, what you’re buying, where you’re buying it from, and the condition of the item.
      Another factor to consider is the brand and the materials. For what the brand is of some of these items they were good value.
      I think Poshmark can be overpriced and underpriced at the same time. I was happy with these items.
