@@TechnoEveryday not at all, there are 2 types of mppt charge controllers, 1)boost type where your battery voltage is higher than the solar voltage and 2) buck type where is your battery voltage is lower than the solar, it is commonly used. With mppt you don't need to worry about your sunlight, the mppt algorithm handles everything, it's not like this simple boost converter where solar voltage drops with load.

Rather than the components for the IC buck I use a mt106 mini. I've not used trim pots as I'm going to hard code tune on dividers. I also made mine modular, the buck is separate to the control and measures as I can best control the heat, it's a 1.5kw mppt. I didn't use the asc712 as those tiny pins and big current would just blow, so got its big brother.

@@MrSummitville The 20100 diodes can only pass current if it is a common anode diode else it will block the current from the solar panel. Secondly, the gate triggering signal of the mosfet is the negative supply of the battery via the opto-coupler. The MOSFET IRF3710 will never conduct.

The circuit I saw on the diagram can never work! The diodes are simply blocking the positive supply of the solar panels.

r16 an 14 are not necessary they are 100r ohms j6 is for esp1 the next upcoming version would have wifi so it is for that
