11:25 maybe they should just have a setting that randomizes the tunic, but temporarily sets it back to normal whenever you equip hookshot. Call it ZFG-sigh mode (Edit: It is my understanding from ZFG's streams that they keep fixing the random colour range to avoid the issue, yet he keeps crashing. That's too complicated, you're just inviting more opportunities for more bugs. What if the function that checks if you have hookshot equipped crashes the game? Or the function that stores the randomized color crashes the game? Or the function that tries to change the tunic color crashes the game?

And I'll probably regret replying, but here we go: From ZFG's streams, it appears they have tried fixing it several times to no avail, so a hacky workaround might be at least a way forward in the short term. And so what if there are crashes? There are crashes now! Further they've done shit like rearranging entrances, adding new items, etc, feels like changing the colour of the tunic on the fly in certain conditions safely is within the realm of possibility.
I suspect that key ring vs key is determined on generation of the item, not on generation of the seed. You can verify this by checking the probability of each dungeon to generate a key ring. If a dungeon with more keys is more likely to generate a key ring, this is what's happening.
Without seeing the code, I think you hit the nail on the head. If a dungeon has 6 keys, and each key has 50% chance of being generated as a keyring, that's a ~98% of that dungeon having a keyring. That would make perfect sense.
Since spirit was in ganons castle I was wondering: If you would go to dessert as child and hover up to spirit top entrance and then exit through the main entrance, would you pop out in hyrule castle area?
A no logic randomizer without glitches might be possible, just like it is possible to win a lottery, or for a flipped coin to land on it's edge. It's very possible, just incredibly unlikely.
Just a correction, yes you can do a Rando glitchess, it has the option on the OoTR, I have done quite a few, it took me 8 hours but I made it to ganon :)

I homestly prefer the idea of adding a setting to make the tunic randomized within the range of colors that don't crash, seems easier to implement
