I remember being in elementary school in late 1980's day-dreaming about singing like him at the school talent show in 4th grade. lol. we did mc hammer instead but it was my secret cuz no one else really understood classical music in my hometown in the Bay Area, CA. My dad was a singer at the SF Opera before i was born. Today is my dad's 19th anniversary since he passed away. I like to listen to Mario Lanza because i hear my dad when he sings. Pavarotti too. Tenors are my favorite. I love you Papa.
the way Lanza can sing such a fast tempo aria like this and still turn on a dime like a Italian sports car when it comes to constantly shifting articulations and emotional nuances within a phrase is nothing short of miraculous
This is hilarious! His Ohhhh, ya dont saay, attitude when his friend tells him who the two guys are. Then his friend just happens to be a piano virtuoso, lol! A really great scene!
Finally, teaching the kids where passion comes from!! The only voice with no labored breathing in 100 years!!! Mario was the best. Hands down. Yet, why now the sudden interest back to real talent?
Because this modern hurts uouf ears. To little real talent. Voices lack real passion and it's mostly a loud band drowning out a mediocre voice. Is that why they have to be half naked?

Why cant youtube provide us with the full movie to watch. This copyright is nonsense. I can either watch it on youtube or i can play it on a dvd. What is the difference.
Mario Lanza had a good voice but unfortunately wouldn't train properly I know this because I too am a singer and My music teacher told me so he had to so im told where an amplifier underneath is clothing because is voice apparently wasn't strong enough for operatic music
Lanza had charisma like no one else. Real star quality.
Mario was one of the greatest. His voice held so much passion.
Nel Grande Caruso la più bella voce di Mario Lanza !!!!!
that man blows me away every time I hear his voice....pffff.....this was the best tenor voice ever

That is so lovely, I can imagine your dad looking down and feeling so proud of you, what a privilege. 💕.
listen to papa!
You should be openly happy and proud of loving opera! what a good story you have
🤗🤗🤗
October 7, 1959 - 2024, the 65th anniversary of his death. I thank him for having brought me close to the opera.
May he rest in peace.

It's not an opera aria, it's a song.
@@eblackadder3 thank u - appreciate the correction

My favorite scene of one of my all time favorite movies. And seeing those guys enjoying pasta and pizza 🍕 makes me want to find a trattoria !!! 🤣😂😅😆
This is hilarious! His Ohhhh, ya dont saay, attitude when his friend tells him who the two guys are. Then his friend just happens to be a piano virtuoso, lol! A really great scene!
Except that Fucito is quite obviously not playing the piano.
