I have a 2011 CRV. It is a low mileage vehicle for us and we are the only owners. It has approximately 55,000 miles as of March 2020. Obviously the computer is wanting to change the oil more frequently than I believe is necessary so consequently we have to look at the “wrench” for long periods. I tried two other video walkthroughs which I was not successful in resetting because, in my opinion, we’re not as precise as yours. Albeit I had some failed attempts but when I came upon yours I went thru your video ,in real time , and it worked. You left nothing to chance. Kudos. Bernie
Hello, I'm like you, I like a longer oil change interval when using full synthetic 0W-20. But the maintenance minder is based on 3000 miles. So I wait until the minder is at 30% oil life (2100 of the 3000 miles used) and reset the minder back to 100% oil life and change the oil when the minder is between 5% to 0% which acts as a 5000 mile interval.
Perfect walkthrough! Easy to follow, not too slow not too fast…a goldilocks level of just right on his pace and progressions of instructions. Each step was detailed and an exact match to what was happening on my dashboard as I followed along for the “Simon Says - how to fix your oil light - CRV edition”

Wasn't on before but was when went to pickup after we bought it, also you should show how to fix leaks in back threw body seam glue/caulking/weld job at body seams. I've seen video's from nobodies that figured it out by THEMSELVES due to Honda charged over $150 and didn't fix it, only 1 complaint but many on here. Should be a recall but won't.
The last time my oil was changed the paper has Pts oil plug leak on the comments, could you tell me what that means & what needs to be done? Thank you so much & sorry for all the comments I am sending!
Hi I have a HOnda CRV 2008 model. I have a strange problem. Out of the blu when light switch is set to auto on my light switch on the left side of the steering wheel....IN DAYLIGHT backlights and instrument lights work as they should, but when it gets dark, backlights turn off and instrument lights work. TO get the backlights to work i Need to set the light switch to OFF position.. but then of course instrument lights AND farlight, the one showing with blue icon on the instrumentpanel ( I don't know the english word for it sorry ) that doesn't work. I can test this on the daytime with blocking for the light on the sensor sitting on the inside of my front window. I have a window wiht rainsensor. PLEEEASE help!
What if the light is coming on not because of it's time for an oil change? I've had 40% oil left, and now after I did that it's showing 100%, which is not what I want. Is there any way to reverse that procedure to get it down to it's correct reading of 40%, and to find out what the issue actually is?
Juan Arroyo most likely the instrument cluster. The first thing I do is start checking for loose connections like bad grounds. I would also hook a scan tool up and tried to pull codes from the instrument cluster. And go from there.

David Angel on the Honda it supposed to reset by itself after topping off the air. If the light is blinking that indicates that there’s a problem and you need to hook up scan tool to it. Very common for the spare tire to be low causing the light to stay on. And in some cases when you rotate the tires it gets confused on which tire is which and has to be recalibrated.
Thanks but tires weren't rotated, just bought vehicle but had water in spare tire area and after I got home. It rained out and checked it, water inside again, seen the water leaks in threw the body seam. So need to seal the seams up top with back door open. Then see if it leaks after. But the company drilled a hole under the spare tire and I never checked it for air, that's bad on me but I wasn't adding air to tires, I always put air or see if it needs air on spare tires, no one ever checks that at all. That's a must due ESPECIALLY if your taking a trip. You need a spare tire to be filled or its useless now.
You’ll need to pull the code to figure out what the lights about and then decide if it needs diagnosing or if it’s just something that needs to be cleared.
