    My favorite use of Yu-Jo Friendship was in a concept I liked calling The Winged Dragon of Friendship, wherein you Summon Ra, then use Yu-Jo to make up for the Lifepoint loss, then use those gained LP to destroy monsters, then use Ra's massive ATK to attack directly or attack whatever might have survived.

    • @MysticJhn
      @MysticJhn 8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      It's amusing when it works, but my current build of it is painfully slow, and half the time I do get Ra out, I either don't have Yu-Jo or Unity in hand at the same time. It's either win now or lose, because modern decks have no problem killing off Ra. At best they struggle for a turn or two since it does typically have well over 4000 ATK and even most boss monsters have trouble getting over that.

    Question is an annoying card... if you're a judge. Because every player that uses it in an official tournament, cheats.
    Technically, you're not allowed to change the order of your graveyard under any circumstance. But players do that regardless and judges don't say anything because Yu-Gi-Oh.
    But the moment this card is played, the specific order of the graveyard IS of critical importance and everybody that used it in the past usually changes in the order of their monsters, just to get out the monster they wanted. And there is no way to verify with judges whether or not the graveyard order has changed in advance of playing Question.

    • @MastaGambit
      @MastaGambit 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      At that rate, if you see them throw Question down onto their field, and you've noticed them touching their graveyard, you should just make the following offer to them: "Either you remove all copies of that card from your deck for the rest of this match, or i'm calling a judge on your cheating ass." Granted, you're letting them play with a 37-card deck at that point, but knowing a Question deck, they probably dont have the worthwhile cards to make use of that advantage.

  • @FishFosh

    I think the main problem with trying to introduce more cards like #1 would be that those kind of effects would lead to a much greater chance of accidental card theft and would generally become a pain in the ass at the end of every duel. It's much better as a niche mechanic imo.
    That said, if they ever decide to introduce original archetypes exclusive to the yugioh video games in order to utilize mechanics that are much better suited to a digital format, that could be an interesting idea.

      +Awesome20801 Yeah how would it work cuz of card sleeves. Maybe the player with the parasite brings along every existing card sleeve so that it can go in the opponent's deck. But the easier way would be playing it in combo with convulsion of nature so that card sleeves don't matter.

    • @blitzcam

Monsters next to this card are unaffected by effects. Once per turn remove from play one card ur opponent controls in the same column as this card. Once per turn after a spell/trap card you control behind this card resolves shuffle it back to ur deck. Etc.

    I actually made a fan made archetype based on the Paraside gimmick of them going into your opponent's deck. When I showed them to people everyone had the same complaint: "Whats stopping your opponent from shuffling so the cards are nowhere near the top? If you shuffle their deck yourself you could be cheating by making sure the face-up insects are near the top. There's no real way to do this without someone cheating."

    The unfortunate thing about Parasite Paracide is that...
    A) It won't go into the deck if attacked by a higher-ATK monster (because FLIP effects activate after they are destroyed)
    B) It can be Tributed for easy removal
    C) It's useless against Rank 2 Xyz decks such as Ojama
    D) being level 2 makes it fairy easy to Tune off the field.
    But I do agree that, generally speaking, it is an awesomely weird card and I want to see more deck-infectors like it someday.

    This isn't really Yugioh related, but Hex has tried the Parasite Paracide concept as an entire race's focus and it works very well. The Vennen aren't top tier or anything, but their concept revolves around burying spider eggs in the opponent's deck, which "hatch" when drawn or buried (Hex's term for milling). When they hatch, YOU get a 2/1 Spider that can't be blocked and your opponent draws another card. With enough eggs, you can kill them outright by combining this with the effects of some other Vennen cards, which interact with these eggs and which mill cards to trigger eggs faster.
    I created a loop deck for arena farming that worked by dumping as many eggs as I could into the deck while setting up my board a specific way - as many Vilefang Eremites and Psychic Torments as I could. Every Spider I summoned dealt them 1 damage per Eremite, and every damage they took buried 1 more card per Psychic Torment. With enough of either and a little luck, the opponent is dead from any reasonable life total off just one egg.
    I'd love to see a similar deck in Yugioh, but I'll settle for Parasite Paranoid

    There's a Magic card called 'Letter Bomb' with a similar effect to Parasite Paracide (shuffle it into opponents deck face down, then they reveal each card they draw until they get it, and when they do they take 19.5 damage). Of course, it's from Unhinged, which is a joke set not legal for tournament play, so Parasite has the edge there.
    Although Magic does have a similar effect as well (in tournament legal form) in the card Booby Trap - when played, you name a card (other than a basic land) and they reveal each card they draw. If they draw the named card, you sacrifice booby trap and deal them 10 (half their starting life).

    I could see a weird archetype eventually made that's a slow starter but scales hard the longer the game goes. With how fast YGO duels are, it would force them to be a very defensive archetype and I imagine one designed to actively stall like that would be unpopular among players.
    Still, it would be kinda fun to see a monster that's effects scale with 'Which Round Is This?'

    • @rank10ygo
      @rank10ygo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Effects stating that a player performs an action relate to the player controlling the card; meaning that since Silent Wobby is in your opponent's control as soon as it's summoned, they get to draw a card (since it says "draw 1 card" while it's in their control), and you get 2000 LP (since, again, it states "the opponent" while it's in your opponent's control). The same ruling applies to Santa Claws and other monsters that are summoned to your opponent's side of the field.

  • @viziroth

    Hex: Shards of Fate is a card game with a lot of cards you shuffle into your opponents deck. Reginald gets shuffled into your opponent's deck and when it leaves their deck(by drawing or milling) it kills them, spider eggs get shuffled into your opponent's deck and when they leave they summon spiders for you, booby traps are shuffled into your opponent's deck and when they leave damage them. There's also plenty of cards which can put your opponent's cards into your hand.

If it is played against, I don't know a Krawler or Subterror deck which si built around flipping cards back to face down, or Darkness Approaches Parasite, When it is flipped face up, does it go face up into your deck and when it is drawn it burns you for 1000 and your monsters become Insects?
