    Sir, I have no complaints. As a fan of Knight Rider when I was a kid, I see this as a remarkable work of art. I hope you bought yourself a steak dinner after you finished that masterpiece, because, frankly, you deserved it.

    Nice work. Valid observation about "screen accuracy.". I like that you use your imagination, and concentrate more on the "fun feel of the show."
    I consider myself a die-hard fan of the show. Knight Rider was a huge part of my childhood, and I still like to re-watch episodes when I can. And I just want to say, awesome job!

  • @brianthompson1138

    Great restoration and fantastic Knight Rider replica. The lamp fade on the "scanner" on the front is absolutely perfect. Have seen people go LED with these and it just doesn't look right.
    Also love the detail about how you ran the audio. And the dash looks amazing. Interior looks great. Wonderful job!

    • @Patrick94GSR
      @Patrick94GSR 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Thompson I’ve heard that someone is making scanners using older style halogen lamps which gives it the proper fade. But they’re very expensive and suck down a lot of power, and also put off a bunch of heat. There may be some better LED versions now that can mimic the fade look.

    • @brianthompson1138
      @brianthompson1138 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Patrick94GSR I'd think it would just use regular 194 bulbs which is what are used in many vehicle marker lights. They are easy to get.

    • @Patrick94GSR
      @Patrick94GSR 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianthompson1138 no, the original authentic style KITT scanner used 8 55-watt halogen bulbs. Almost 450 watts of power and heat coming off the thing!

    Massive fan of Knight Rider since I was four years old. This is a beautiful reproduction of the car, as to me it's not so much about the individual switches (some which were used once never to be seen again) but whether you can look at the car and get that rush of nostalgia and love that fans got when watching the show. This definitely is one of the replicas which ticks all the boxes for me. Outstanding job. Now, if only I had $75,000+ dollars...

    It's not hard to understand why KITT gets so much attention when outside. Because of how rare it is. Like even thought Bob's rolls royce is nice and all, if i had to choose between that and KITT, i would take KITT every single time. It's both nostalgic, but it's stylish as well. Imo they have never made a more stylish car, it might be old, but it still to this very day in 2020, looks futuristic. That's quite a feat.

  • @robertmurphy4836

    My first car was a 82 Trans Am base model with 5.0 liter V8 with 4 barrel carb and with 13 inch wheels with the bowling ball covers. KITT was a 82 TA with crossfire fuel injection and 14 inch wheels. My car came with the lower fender fairings you mentioned. Lost a cover to a pothole and bought a new one from GM Parts in 85. It was different in that it had metal clips to hold on to the wheel better. I eventually upgraded to the 15 inch wheels and low profile tires that the 85 and later TAs had. Made a big improvement in ride quality. My car started life as metallic silver with lt grey interior. Had it repainted all black after a light accident. The silver had started going bad. Laughed when the Formulas came out in all one color and 16 inch similar wheels. Had two of them. A 89 and a 91 both all black with lt grey interior. Both with the turbo hood. With the nonfunctional plastic block off panel.

What really counts as the quality of the interpretation that you make. Your Knight Rider car is as nice of one as I’ve seen.

Now I'm more in the process of improving the car rather than making it a full interior replica. Such a nice cruiser! Air conditioning service was a must for me, giving that it gets super hot under the glass roof in the summer.

I have a starsky torino and a mad max car. 99% of the people that see the cars don't really know the real details of the cars anyways! Everyone has their memories of what they remember or maybe saw a quick old video of it. The important part is to have them look correct, everything else is just fun stuff. I love the 80s car stuff. I'm a big car guy, muscle cars and cool cars. You seem very smart, detailed and to the point, love that! And I like all the stuff you did to the inside of the car. That's how I would want on!! Great job!!
